This magnifier does its job effectively. Settings for magnification, brightness and color scheme allow maximum clarity. My only disappointment is that the viewing area is quite limited--only a few words at a time. This makes reading a book cumbersome. It's great for reading labels in the grocery store or pharmacy. And it has to be placed on the object being read. The magnification does not adjust if the distance from the print is changed, as I'm used to doing with a regular magnifying glass. Lifting the magnifier off the page distorts the image significantly. The magnifier will be helpful for some tasks, but it is too cumbersome for general reading.
This was a gift for my father who has diabetes plus a deteriorating retina. He was shown a product similar to this by the Wilmer institute at Hopkins, although theirs was around $1k we figured we’d give this a whirl before dropping big money on one from Hopkins. So far it does exactly what the more expensive ones do. Its not too big to carry around either. My mom keeps it in her purse for him when we go to restaurants or wherever. Very quick and easy deployment. Great color selection as well, also seems to hold a charge for a decent while.
Bought this as a gift for my Mother who has Macular Degeneration.
She found it very helpful & I had fun using it.
Will consider buying one for myself.
I particularly like that you can view it on a TV screen.
This was perfect for my mother-in-law with macular degeneration. She use one handheld video magnifier but it broke when she dropped it. So we tried to order another with the same brand but it was way more expensive. So far this one is a great item and a great price.
Excellent quality, more functions than most, and the size is great but still portable. The only problem is the number or color and construct functions can be confusing but the unit returns to your settings when turned off and on.

I bought this for my 91 year old grandpa to replace an old one. He LOVES it!!! He says it's better than the old one that he spent a lot more money on. In the beginning we had a problem where it only worked if it was plugged in. I examined the battery and realized it was in wrong. After putting it in the right way, it worked perfectly. Thanks for such a great product at a more reasonable price.
This product has really helped my mother who has diabetic retinopathy. She can't see well but with this product she can change what she's reading from a white background to a black background to white lettering and then enlarge the print. So now she can read the mail she gets or read a magazine article. She feels a bit more independent.
I am very pleased with the magnifyer & the copany service.
This product was perfect for my mother-in-law with macular degeneration. It is easy to use for elderly people. The underside light is great for better viewing. As a teacher of the visually impaired, I've used lots of handheld video magnifiers, and this one is a very good product for a great price compared to others.
Works great the wife likes it a great buy
