I absolutely love these glasses. I have tried the dollar store glasses and even from Walmart and drug stores and these are so much better. I love the fit, the hinges allow them to flex so they fit your face snuggly and yet not too tight that they are uncomfortable. The lenses are even better, they are crystal clear and allow me to now read the newspaper and books once again. They are not causing me any eye strain, so got the right magnification. The rims are well made, they have the same quality as my prescription glasses I use. What a great price for something that works so good. Highly recommend to anyone who needs readers. This is my second purchase of TruVision Readers. I love the design of these glasses because I often would break my glasses by extending them causing them to snap. My eye doctor said that my Rx for reading glasses was so mild that I could get my glasses at the dollar store. I did for a while, but after the third pair fell apart I vowed no more. I probably go through 3 pair of readers a month because of the flimsy hinges and or frame (frame cracks while cleaning).
Hoping to find some durable, simple readers that are engineered for functionality not fashion (if you care how "you look" in a pair of readers you should see a psychiatrist). These arrived all 4 pair having their own microfiber cleaning pouch and one is tinted smoky black. Lenses and frame are plastic (only clean lens with microfiber or they'll be scratched up) and hinges seem more durable then the 3 packs you buy at the WMart. Hinges have the classic "little screw" but the rest of the hinge is incased in plastic. They are lightweight and have good clarity. If they last more than a month I'll add another star.
As reading glasses go, these readers are excellent! They are as sturdy and durable as any of the leading brands that you would find at a department store or eyewear retailer. The lenses are crystal clear and don't seem to scratch easily when cleaned with a proper lens cloth. The hinges and screws are securely fastened and don't show any obvious signs of weakness. The fit is perfect (I have an average sized adult head with a hat size of 7.5). The color options are very cool, fashionable and fun. This is a very well made product at a great price. I will definitely be buying more.
The durability for the price is good. If you lay them flat on a table they don't wobble side to side but instead appear even and feel firm. The hinges have not let me down and they don't over-extend, stable when fully extended. For knock around glasses they are acceptable even for office usage. They look decent and are uniformly even on the face when worn. I will use these if I need more and will reorder. Buying them one at a time is costly and inefficient. I can leave a pair at each office and a couple in my top ready-to-go drawer, which is what I have been doing. The magnification seems natural for my 55 year old eyes.
I was buying "cheater" glasses from Dollar Tree for years! I recently needed to go up in strength and I needed 2.25 but the store only went up in 1/2 increments which made my eyes hurt at 2.50 strength. I'm older now and I hate to admit it but I need reading glasses. I've tried many, have bought them from the dollar store to the pharmacy and other's on Amazon. First these are the lightest I've used. They do not rub of feel uncomfortable after prolonged use. They have different styles. They are not the cheap plastic that you find at the dollar stores that scratch as soon as you open the package, they are far more cost effective and better quality than you buy at the pharmacy.
