Sunbeam Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief | Self-Inflating, 4 Heat Settings with Auto-Shutoff | Beige, 12-Inch x 16-Inch

I suffer from chronic pain and am very ache-y a lot so I got this for my office chair at work and it has been so amazing!!

It holds air very well. You can open the vent and lean back and kind of smash it into whatever position you want by squeezing out air in those spots and then close the valve and it will keep its shape until you release the air back in! I find that the warm setting is more than enough to help ease my lower back pain but my office is usually an uncomfortable 77degrees so colder offices might wanna start at higher settings. I like that it turns itself off automatically after 30 minutes. It's a little annoying to have to keep turning it back on, but sometimes I have to get up from my desk randomly and won't return for a long time so the 30 minute thing is perfect. (In comparison, I have another sunbeam pad that turns off after 2 hours.)

It makes a huge difference in my day to day pain at work and helps me function better. It also kind of forces me to sit more upright and uncross my legs too which is probably a substantial part of what helps.

The only minor draw back for me is that it tends to slip down the back of my office chair because it's basically open between the seat and the back. I will need to sew a strap with Velcro on it so I can strap it to my chair. They should sell a cover with that on it already. I'd definitely buy it to save myself some work!

This is a true testimonial that I want to share...I have chronic problems with three slipped/herniated disks in my lower back. I see a chiropractor and a rehab specialist three times a week for this issue. Part of the therapy is to lay on a massage bed with electro shock attached to my lower back, while laying on a warm pad to relax my muscles. I saw this online and thought to buy it for further help while at home. Everyday after work, I go home and use this on my lower back. It is very soothing, so much so that I fall asleep with it on (which you're not supposed to.) I read all the warnings and instructions as well. I like that it automatically turns off after 30mins. I don't regret the purchase. I highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about it.

My wife had a flat heating pad from the Pharmacy and within a few weeks the heating pad was wadded up and half it's height. It was impossible to get heat over her entire back. With this, it inflates, keeps it's shape and she can rest against it sitting in bed reading while it delivers nice warmth. Notice I didn't say "heat"....it soothes the back, but it wont be super warm.

Only gripe I have is the 30 minute timer. So you'll have to remember to click it back on often.

I bought this because when I went to the store for a heating pad what I found was cheap and said not to sit on it, I'm like, what, we always used to sit on heating pads to heat the back, why can't it take it? Well then I saw these lumbar-heating pads that you can sit on, I guess someone sued because of a burnt lazyboy and everybody manufactured separate heating pads for putting between back and chair... anyways this thing is good, does just what I want it to do. It doesn't really blow up all that much, but just enough.

For the Price this is a fantastic heating pad even without the customizable contouring. Purchased for about $20 to replace the old heating pad and it's better in every way, except for the short 30 minute time limit.

Pros
* Fairly rigid design prevents folding and need for re-adjustment
* Highly customizable thickness via self inflation/side valve.
* Pad inside is comfortable
* Cover is nice and soft, washes well and doesn't cause issues with slipping or sweating.
* Decent Length Cable
* Easy use 1-button control is the perfect distance from the pad (no reaching back or forward to get to it)
* 4 Heat settings

Cons
* 30-minute timer just doesn't seem long enough, 1-2 hours would be better, but It's for safety, and because you should probably stretch out every 30-ish minutes any way.
* High setting is great for me, but isn't quite warm enough for my wife, just a bit warmer would probably be better considering there are 4 settings.

I excepted an inflatable with a heating pad, but this is more of a pillow/inflatable hybrid (Think self-inflating whoopie cushion). This pad has a firm piece of foam with a screw valve that allows you to compress and lock-in your desired amount of air with a simple twist, or you can let go and allow it to spring-back, if you wanted to you could even go as far as blowing on the open valve to add even more air to it, thus giving it a great level of customization.

I bought this for back pain from lumbar pain during pregnancy. I use it 2-3 hours a day when I'm sitting down working and it has eased my back pain. It's definitely supportive, the first few times I used it, it got really hot, but as I use it more I don't think it's been heating up quite as hot as it did the first couple times. Overall it's a good product, just not sure how long it will last.

My husband has a degenerative disk in his back and suffers constantly with back pain, especially when it is cold weather. He uses this heating pad in his recliner every cold day and night and it helps relieve his pain. We are so glad you had it for sale!!!! Thank you!!!

Best heating pad I’ve ever had. Provides support like a pillow and doesn’t bunch up like other pads. Shuts off by itself so you don’t forget when to turn it off.

I like this heating pad a lot, but it does seem to loose its shape and does not inflate completely by itself. I've had to blow into it to inflate it several times. Other than that problem, it works just fine as far as the heat is concerned and is better for using on my lower back than other pads I have tried. You can inflate and deflate it to the desired size which is nice.

So much better than a regular heating pad. Only disappointment is it cuts off too soon and I am continually turning back on. Wish it would stay on until I want to turn it off.
