I recently had surgery and was not allowed to get my cast wet nor put pressure on it. If you are having nasal surgery get 2 sets. Do not toss the inner tray & liner. To preserve them I used sterile saline solution (for rinsing contact lenses) in the tray and on top of the eye mask then topped off with the liner and placed in a quart zip top baggie. Also labeled each bag 1,2,3 to keep track. DO NOT PUT IN FREEZER. I may have messed one up that way. Have used all 3 masks for 5 days straight for about 5-10, 15 times a day and they are mostly holding up okay.
Had my eyes done and put a bowl of ice with a piece of Saran Wrap over the ice. Then added the masks and was able to just lie there and change the ice masks throughout the day. Very cold and delicious. I was glad I splurged on these.
This is a great product to use on the 3rd day after eye lift surgery! You are done with frozen pea stage and now Your eyes will begin to itch and will drive you crazy at night. You may wake up trying to scratch at your incisions- placing this over your eyes before bed will soothe your eyes and keep them from itching so much. They were expensive but well worth it and hey- you just spent a fortune on surgery so splurge!!!
The eye masks were wonderful to use post op for several days. I had hoped to keep them long term but they did not hold up for that.
This is a wonderful product. The hospital gave me a pack after upper/lower bleph and then I bought more from Amazon. They are so soothing after surgery, extremely comfortable, flexible and lightweight. The one-star review seems to be based on the gel drying out after using it all night. This is not the intended use - it's for 20 minutes on, 45 minutes off. The mask is soothing because it has a lot of water in it - that's what does the cooling. I did use mine all night and they worked surprisingly well. You rehydrate them by rinsing off with water. But eventually if you over use them, of course they will curl. There is nothing better than these masks.

Description
A convenient alternative to using leaky ice packs or dripping hot gauze pads and towels, the lightweight, reusable Eye Mask Compress is unlike any other cold compress on the market with its ultra flexible design that enables the compress to conform to the shape of your eye zone. Being that the compress is incredibly light and thin, it feels like a second skin and puts minimal pressure. Unlike other compresses that can leak, it is non-sticky and stays only moist - but not wet. Made from hydrogel and coming in a sterile package, the Mask can be used on the eye area for cold therapy to reduce post-operative swelling and discomfort, decrease healing time, and enable the patient to return to his/her normal activities more quickly. The compress can also be used to enhance your daily personal beauty routine by alleviating tired or puffy eyes, softening wrinkles and pores, and refreshing a tired complexion. The Swiss eye mask can also help relieve headaches, fatigue, and be used for general relaxation. The immediate application of cold therapy is beneficial for reducing post-operative swelling by constricting the capillary vessels and slowing down the flow of blood and other fluids to the injured or operated area. Patients also benefit from cold therapy's anesthetic effect on the nerves, which helps reduce the sensation of pain and provides a soothing, refreshing, and relaxing feeling to the injured or operated area. Further, cold therapy reduces the risk of hematoma formation. Because cold therapy helps to restore strength, mobility and range of motion more quickly, patients may reduce their hospital stay, heal faster and feel better sooner. This reusable Compress provides up to 15-20 minutes of cold relief. With simple refrigerator storage between uses, this reusable eye compress can be applied again and again for cold therapy.
Got at the hospital after eye procedure. So much better than ice packs and way more comfortable than a bag of frozen peas. Comfortable though only stays cold for about 10 minutes.
I can't say enough about how these helped me in the healing process after upper eyelid surgery. They are so cooling and comfortable and easy to use. No drippy ice cubes, wet messy packs etc. I kept these going continually after surgery. I put an ice bowl next to me, covered it with plastic wrap and laid the used eye gel pads on that to cool up after each use. There are several in a pack so you have that convenience of using them. I just had a post-op check with the doctor and he said that I had taken such good care of my eyes after surgery. These are well worth every dollar you spend for they help heal the eyes in recovery. Wonderful!
Following major eye surgery my wife had to ice 15 minutes of every hour for four days. This product was a miracle worker. It is light weight, forms to the eye and cools without the chance of ice burn. She rotated through the three masks over the four days. Itis important to keep the tray and covers when putting the masks in the frig. to keep them from drying out. The masks lasted the four days and then were discarded. They are expensive but well worth the money following an injury or surgery where contact and weight are an issue.
My husband had eye surgery and used these masks to help reduce the swelling. They were a great relief for the pain and swelling. Easy to use, just keep them in the refrigerator and use them when ever you need them. We will always keep them on hand for beauty as well as medical purposes.
Fantastic!!!
