Core Products Soft Comfort CorPak Hot and Cold Therapy - 10

Let me start by saying that I have purchased about 40-50 cold packs in the last 6 years. Yes, for myself. I woke up one day in January of 2012 with what I thought was just something that would last a few weeks and go away. It was a very painful and burning thigh and a numb and tingly leg. Here we are in March of 2018 (and seriously 20 plus doctors later) and I am in just as much pain as I was over 6 years ago. I was told about these by one of the first doctors I went to - a chiropractor. I have been buying them ever since. There is NO other cold pack out there that compares. These are a life saver. I actually can not sleep without one on my left thigh. I wake up a few times a night and go to the freezer for an ice pack or two and can fall back to sleep with one resting on my thigh. If I didn't have one of these on my leg, then the blanket would touch my thigh and it is very uncomfortable for anything to touch my thigh except for something nice and cold. It in a way extinguishes the nerve pain which is hot and burning. I could write a novel about all I have been through to try and get rid of this life changing chronic pain but it is not a very good ending so far with it. These cold packs are top notch quality and at least extinguish the FIRE for a while and calm down the burn. I only buy these now because they last for years and I have used them several times a day, everyday for years. I do purchase new ones when they get rough looking but they definitely get a lot of use everyday.. I could still use the rough looking ones but I'm a picky girl and like them clean and new looking.

Nice product that does what it's supposed to do and does it well. Instructions are a bit weak in that it will take you forever to get the large size up to operating temperature. Following their timing instructions for the large one, even at room temperature, you're better off "cooking" it for a full minute or more before inching up to proper operating temperature in 15 or 30 second increments. After using it a few times, I now take the room temperature pack and hit it for 90 seconds, knead it (as directed) and then give it another 30-45 seconds and it's just right.

Molds to the body very well and holds its heat for a long time. Frozen, the few times I've used it that way, it works very well too and remains flexible. If you have room, it's best to store in the freeze so that it's instantly ready when needed. Figure on 120 seconds if frozen, just to get it in the temperature ball park if you need it for warmth.

Best ever ice packs. Owned some already, bought more. My son called me and said, can I have the soft fuzzy ice pack,... then drove an hour to pick it up because it's that great. SO, since I lost custody of that one, ha ha, I had to buy more for me.
They stay flexible, the covers are soft and like fabric and they don't over freeze your body part. They are super cold, I don't mean that they don't get cold enough, but they don't give you freezer burn like some packs do. These don't require an extra towel to mitigate the amount of cold. I have had the first ones I owned for probably 15 years and that is the one my son took so they last a very long time. Totally worth the cost.

Hot and Cold gel packs are a necessity in my house. I prefer a 2-in-1 for various reasons. 1. With plug-in heating pads, there is not always a convenient outlet nearby. 2. My husband has a tendency to overflow our freezer with icepacks and lose them all over time. 3. A 2-in-1 is more convenient for travelling. 4. Some injuries require you to alternate ice and heat.

I got the 10"x13" because I mostly need it for back pain or for stomach cramps. However, it can be folded to accommodate smaller areas like knees, ankles, and feet. I've owned hot and cold packs in the past, so I am happy with their overall function. This one stays hot for about 15-20 minutes and it stays cold for 40-60 minutes. I gave it four stars for 1 reason: it has no cover. I used to own a 2-in-1 (that I lost) that you would put in the freezer or microwave. When it came time to use it, you would throw it inside a thick cover that came with the purchase of the ice pack. This particular ice pack does NOT come with a cover. Therefore, if you make it extremely hot or extremely cold, you need to wrap a towel or something around it so that it is comfortable enough to use. I often use an ACE bandage. It serves the dual purpose of serving as a cover and as a strap or belt to hold the pack in place.

I suffer from chronic migraines that can leave me feeling paralyzed and debilitated when they're severe. Also, I have Lyme Disease, so I am using gel ice/heat packs pretty much daily sometimes. I have tried them all, and these ice packs are the only ones that last (both in quality and staying cold longer). I use them at night on the back of my neck to ease my migraines, and the cold lasts longer than most gel packs I've used in the past. I would strongly recommend these to anyone! They are well worth the money, as I now have 3 in my freezer! A must have in my house! Thank you Core Products for selling them on Amazon :)

Description

Soft Comfort CorPaks Hot or Cold Therapy Packs are a great solution to help relieve headaches, ease pain, and help reduce inflammation associated with strains, sprains, and other soft tissue injuries. Conveniently store packs in the freezer for cold therapy the moment you need it. These packs stay soft and flexible, comfortably contouring to painful areas. Use cold to help reduce inflammation; warm packs in the microwave to aid muscle relaxation and to promote healing. The packs exterior is made of a proprietary blend of synthetic fibers and organic plant materials. The Soft Comfort CorPaks contain more nontoxic, biodegradable fill than traditional packs to retain cold and heat longer. The soft, frost-free pack is gentle on skin and does not need to be wrapped in a towel. For cold therapy, place pack in freezer for a minimum of 1 hour prior to use. For heat therapy, simply heat the pack in a microwave according to the heating instructions printed on the pack. The pack will maintain therapeutic temperature for 20 minutes. When not in use, the pack may be stored in the freezer for convenience. Reusable. Contains no latex. Made in the USA.

I love these pads. I purchased this as a replacement for my last one, which I think got adopted by a friend. The suede-like outside provides just enough insulation to not feel like your skin is freezing, but way less than wrapping it in a towel. It holds the cold well, although I've never tried heating them (I like the rice-bag for that). Best of all, it never freezes solid, so you can wrap it around whatever hurts without causing further pain.

My DIL got one of these from her chiropractor. I thought it looked so much better than what I'd been using for a sore back. I like just about everything about it! The felt like fabric covering is fantastic, no more drippy condensation, and it's soft and comfortable even on bare skin. The 10 x 13 is a nice size, but it is pretty heavy ( I'm a small older woman), seems well made, and keeps cold for a long time. All in all it is a great product and overall I am very pleased.

Again, if it's a CORE product, my guess is you're going to be a happy camper!! This is the perfect size for any kind of injury or boo boo you can possibly get! From the big to the tiny to the impossible....This WILL do the job!! I don't use mine in the microwave, I guess because I'm an
ice-a-holic, so won't comment on the heat, but for the cold, I'll bet my last dollar that you can't go wrong!!

I originally bought one of these for $20 Bucks at a Doctors office a few years ago. I just had knee surgery and I knew I would doing a lot of icing so I decided to buy another and it works great having two of them to make sure I always have a cold one, or if I want to ice the front and back of my leg at the same time.

I was first introduced to Corpak ice packs by a physical therapist friend. Love at first sight ! The packs have not clumped up as other packs seem to do. Corpak stays cold, is comfortable to the touch & is flexible. I have had two friends whom have suffered an injury and/or surgery in the past couple months, I've given them Corpak's & each individual has raved about them ! I'm confident to highly recommend this product.
