This cream is very easy to use with a shaving brush and makes an impressively slick lather. It also has an good ingredient list with few synthetic chemicals and some bonus extracts like chamomile and witch hazel. So it's great that a quality product like this is available from a global brand at a bargain price point.
A committed shaving snob may fault the pedigree, but they cannot argue with the performance of this cream. A novice can make a slicker and more protective lather with this cream than an experienced wet shaver can make with most high-end soaps and creams. This stuff is nearly foolproof. It can handle a lot of water without falling apart. Really the only way to go wrong is to leave it too dry. When in doubt, add water.
This cream is high in glycerin, which will hold water and provide slickness. Compared to other products, it particularly excels when you want to go back over an area without applying more lather. It leaves plenty of slickness behind. The fragrance is neither exotic nor medicinal. It's the kind of scent you'd expect from a men's deodorant stick labeled "Fresh". It's the same exact fragrance as the popular Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm, which I also recommend.
You can spend a lot of money on boutique soaps and creams, or you can use this stuff and probably get a better shave.
I found this long ago in an obscure drug store and have had trouble finding it ever since. Where else to find it than Amazon? It lathers up well using either your hand or brush and provides just the type of protection I appreciate in a shave. I even use this with a straight razor with excellent results. It protects well, allows a close shave and doesn't strip my skin down to sunburned sandpaper. For all of you that are still using canned shaving garbage cream, know those products dry your skin out and probably damage the earth due to air and landfill pollution more than they are improving your self image. Unless you are a clean-shaven vegan fair trade ecologist, I don't know. Try a product like this or ye olde shaving soap with a brush and rediscover what grandpa knew about shaving!
Pictures always help me when I'm buying things. This cream produces a beautiful lather and for the price is a steal.
So glad I ordered this. I have a ton of shaving soaps. But sometimes you just want to give yourself a break from all the fragrances and whatnot. This has a very mild "Nivea" smell. It's awesome for my sensitive skin. Performance is on par with anything I've used from any soap maker. VERY slick, cushiony lather. No sting, no allergy issues, just great shaves.
Don't use it often, but wouldn't want to be without it.
My electric shaver died last year and I started wet shaving again. I've tried a few creams and foams. It meets my criteria. It's slick, smells good, it is moist, rinsed out of the blade easily, and was only $4 as an add on item. It is a little confusing for travel because 3.4 oz is the maximum for TSA carry on. It is also labeled 99 grams which is equivalent to 99 ml. and 100 ml is legitimate for carry on. However, does the TSA guy know this? My other favorites are Pacific Shaving cream and Kiss my face. I also use the Nivea sensitive gel in the can that I buy at the dollar store.

Nivea has really "done it right" with this shaving cream. A shaving brush is recommended to build the proper lather but I've had great shaves without one.

I have bought about 10 different shaving creams since taking up shaving with a double edge safety razor. The Nivea shaving cream is outstanding, I even sometimes add it to my other shaving creams. Comes in a nice metal tube, made in Germany.
Good smell not overpowering and if you want to mix it with something else you bought works great.
I use this with a badger brush and a shaving mug. You can either put it right in the mug and start whipping it up, or apply it directly to the brush and your face if you so choose. A little does go a long way, but I find myself constantly using too much :P.
I tried this product because of how much I like the nivea sensitive after shave balm. This cream doesn't disappoint. It softens my whiskers much better than any cream I've tried previously. (I'm a hard soap guy mostly) It smells incredible and has a wonderful post shave feel. These tubes last for quite a while too...probably 2-3 times as long as canned goo. Now that I have a small stockpile, I found out this product is sold a my local Safeway store for a reasonable price.
I love this cream. It has a gentle scent and a pearly white color. I do a 3 pass shave and I only need a fingertip size dollop for the whole job. I squeeze it directly into my boar brush and lather up in my hand. In between each pass I very quickly pass the brush through the dripping faucet to add a little moisture. I get a really close shave with this product. I prefer a slightly wet shave, so you'll have to experiment with this cream to find what works best for you.
Amazing value for the price. It creates a wonderful face lather with my boar brushes, and combined with the matching post shave balm it leaves you smelling and feeling great. It's right up there with other expensive, artisan creams. Nice and hydrating, and give a super slick shave with the right blade and DE razor.
This is my go-to shaving cream for traveling, as it never lets me down for a great shave. I hope they never stop making it!
