Seal Tight Original Cast and Bandage Protector, Best Watertight Protection, Adult Short Leg Wide

Seal Tight Original Cast and Bandage Protector, Best Watertight Protection, Adult Short Leg Wide

This is an awkward & extra large product, however, being a short person, having a large boot to wear while taking a shower, this protector works great. Somewhat difficult to get over the boot but once you learn how to maneuver and get it up and over the top of the boot, the seal is tight enough for no leakage to get down inside your foot or boot. The first time I used it getting into the shower you must be careful in how you step cause being plastic it will make you slip & slide. There is no way to avoid this without watching how you step. Practice is the key.

This has been a such a nice thing to have. I've been in a cast or boot for a month and a half and had to use this in the shower and/or bathtub. It fit so well over my cast even at the widest part of my ankle! I'm now in a surgical boot and can't bear weight outside of it and again it fits great over the boot. I've had no trouble getting it on or off without tearing it. It forms a great seal on my leg. Whether in the shower or bathtub, I've had no issues with water leaking in it. It's been a lifesaver and a nice convenience to be able to shower or get in the bathtub, just slip this on over my cast or boot without worrying about water leaking in. If you have to be in a cast or boot, this needs to be a must have for your recovery. It works exactly as described.

At the recommendation of another reviewer, I opted for the short leg wide version of this protector. I had bunion surgery about 4 weeks ago, and had to use this for the first two weeks. I was a bit worried about going with the wide version, but someone else mentioned that it worked well with a surgical shoe after foot surgery… and it did! The ring was wide enough that it went over the surgical shoe with minimal effort (no struggling or smashing my already painful foot). I was afraid it wasn't tight enough on my leg though… as some people say theirs fit very tight… as in, cutting off circulation kind of tight. Mine was quite comfortable and to my relief, didn't leak (I did use a plastic bag as well the first time though… just to make sure!). Follow directions… it is important to pull the ring/rubber section up on you leg, just above where you want it, then pull it down, so the edge of the rubber is facing up on your leg. This makes it so the water runs away from the seal by your leg rather than pooling up there and possibly leaking.

The protector held up well for me, though it was only used for two weeks.

I recently had foot surgery and was using two trash bags to protect my foot wrappings from getting wet during showers, which was not a great solution--I had to be very careful because I was so worried about water getting into the bags.

This product is fantastic. The rubber diaphragm easily goes over my foot (it was pretty easy to pull the rubber circle open wider to fit over my foot without touching my foot wrapping) and hugs my leg firmly, creating a waterproof seal (I followed another commenter's advice about pulling the bag up as far as it would go and then pushing down slightly so the water will flow down instead of puddling). I can now take showers without worrying that water will get on my wound.

The bag is well-made and reusable, so I feel that it was a good value for the price.

Had foot surgery and Doctor said no showers as I had to wear this humongous boot for a month or more. The boot went practically up to my knee (about 2 - 3 inches below) and I knew I couldn't make it more than a few days without a shower. Searched Amazon and found several choices for shower protection of my foot. I chose this one because of the bigger ring. Although it's a tight fit getting it over the boot's girth, the seal clams around your leg and never a drop of water leaked inside. The bag is made of heavy duty material that did not rupture while installing or removing. I used it every other day and it's still in perfect condition. Recommend adult short leg wide if you have to get it over one of those big black velcroed boots.

It really works and is well made. I’ve been using mine for almost a month and it still looks brand new. Very large I’m 6’3” size 14 shoes and it fits with room to spare and hits me at the top of my calf. I also have 20 inch calves and it fits no worries.

I was looking for something to cover my lymph wrapping on my lower right leg. I bought the one that was extra wide, since I didn't know how much width I needed. Glad I got the extra width. I've already tried this two times, and it really keeps the water out!! Yes, it's tight but I can stand it for the 10-15 minutes in the shower. Just be very careful when getting in and out of the shower, it can be slippery!! Just go very slow in movements and you'll be ok. It is so nice to be able to get a shower every day and keep bandage DRY. I would highly recommend this product.

Having gone through several foot surgeries in the past, I had tried every combination of plastic bags, elastic bands, tape and plastic wrap you could think of to take a shower. All I would have to show for it would be a lot of wasted time and a wet foot dressing. This bag works. It slips on and off quick and easy and your foot or leg stays dry. I haven't tried it for bathing yet. That might involve different sealing issues but for showers, it works.

User suggestion: When putting it on, remember to pull the bag up as far as you can and then push it back down just slightly. This causes the rubber diaphragm edge to be coned upward so the water flows away from the opening and doesn't puddle up around your leg. The water will slightly puddle around the outer ring piece so make sure to clear any water off the top surface before removing.

My previous review was of the short leg bag. I subsequently bought the foot/ankle version as I was having to protect both feet for a period. The only problem I had with the shorter foot ankle model is the opening in the flexible diphragm is a much smaller diameter. Which is logical as it is not expected to slide over the calf. This makes the bag more difficult to pull over your foot. If the user has a wide foot or a foot with a large dressing, the leg bag might be your best choice. Having said that, once it's on, the bag works very well keeping the foot/ankle dry.

Price here was at least $8-10 less expensive than the local shops. Product works well. I used this at least 6 times before it got a tiny hole in the bottom seam and my foot got damp. Maybe shouldn't have the seam along the bottom of the foot for more durable product. I only needed this to last a couple weeks until my stitches were removed, so I didn't need it to last too terribly long. Much better than trying to tie a plastic bag around your foot/leg to shower or bathe.

Easy on. Easy off. No issues with water leaking. Make sure you read the directions to ensure you've got the proper seal established. It's a snug fit, but not unbearable and necessary to keep the water out. I bought this cast cover and another version & opted to use this one. While the blue, plastic round part is a little large & awkward, this cover was the easiest to put on & take off. I tested it before surgery, so I felt confident it wouldn't leak. No issues when I was in a post-op cast for two weeks. Do make sure you wipe the cover dry, especially the plastic ring, before removing the cover and you should be good to go! My cast came up to just below my knee & the cover was long enough to go just above my knee.
