This was a lifesaver for me. I tore my rotator cuff several months back and had a lot of pain for several months. this helped immensely with alleviating the pain. Then later, after physical therapy/exercise, when I had some discomfort it worked well. It's a little tight, but works for me. The included ice packs are hard when they are frozen. Which is okay. But, I also purchased https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AZ72MAE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 gel packs, which fit as well, and are a little more comfortable since they are softer. The trade off is, they do not stay cold quite as long as the included ice packs which come with this item, which, though hard, last much longer, though they should not be kept on for much over 20 minutes at a time anyway.
The ice packs become very hard when frozen however the device function well, strap it down in the front and shift the shoulder part into place, then cinch it down. I use it after my exercises as I have had a shoulder replacement which becomes very unhappy with too much activity.
Having to deal with multiple tears in my rotator cuff, I have purchased several shoulder ice packs. They all work, some comfortable and some not. This one in the 5 days I have had it has been the best so far. I ice my shoulder 3 to 4 times daily. However, this pack would have earned 5 stars if not for the fact that the edges of the ice packs exceed the length of the cover and cut into the side of your neck. I have found a simple fix though. Take 3 rubber bands per ice pack and put them on lengthwise on the ice pack. This will force the edges down and under and keep them from cutting into your neck. With my surgery pending, I will be using this pack regularly.
I have tendinitis in both shoulders so bught two of these. They are well designed and well made.
