Love the compact size - perfect for a lunch carrier. If it seems too hot for the thermal plastic lined lunch box, I throw a dry dish cloth in the lunch box first so the hot pack isn't in direct contact. It works great and has been very convenient to use.
These are perfect for my daughter to use to keep her lunches warm until lunchtime.

Description
HOT PACK INSTRUCTIONS:
1st use (or different microwave oven)
1. place hot packs side by side in microwave to heat to required temperature.
2. Heat hot packs for 1 minute.
3, Take out hot packs, shake well, turn upside down, heat for another 1 minute.
4. Open microwave, CAREFULLY touch packs to see how hot.
5. If not sufficiently hot, heat for another 15 seconds and recheck. Repeat if needed. After every 4 times (i.e. every 1 minute of heating), repeat step 3. Note the total heating time.
6. Do not exceed a total of 4 minutes of total microwave heating.
7. Take hot packs out by the handles and place inside the cooler.
Subsequent uses with same microwave oven:
Divide the total heating time from step 5 above by two - heat in the MW on one side, take out carefully, shake, turn upside down & continue heating for the remaining time. Go to step 7 above.
ATTENTION: The hot packs may heat up to 172O F / 78O C so must be handled with care. Hold the packs by the gripping handles when hot.
Keep away from Children. Dispose if any damage is visible on packs. Make sure hot packs are dry before use.
