I'm an RN at a big hospital and wear sterile gloves at work that are a size 6.5 (wanted to give you my hand size to compare in the picture I have attached). These scissors were way smaller than I imagined them to be BUT they are handy, efficient and sharp. I do wish they were an inch or two bigger in blade size. Tape does not stick to them and they cut through just about everything. The only major downfall is if you have to cut something small like sutures, the dual blades are not the same length so its impossible. You'll need something with a point to cut sutures!
These tiny scissors are exactly what I was looking for. I am a nursery RN and when I discharge infants home I have to cut off their security bands. I was using much larger scissors and the parents were horrified when I came near their brand-new babies with those big scissors. So, I purchased these scissors. These are small, fit in my scrub pocket, and do not terrify parents. They are perfect for cutting security bands and other small jobs.
What these would not be appropriate for, are bigger jobs like cutting clothes off adults in an emergency.
The size may be smaller than one might be expecting. They easily rest in the palm of my hand without spreading over the side (I use size small gloves at work, and can fit extra small if I had to). They are nice and sharp, though.
Having just attended a NOLS wilderness medicine class I am rolling my own DIY backcountry first aid kit. like the small size and value of this item. Have not done much cutting yet but movement feels good. I have big fingers and they fit Ok despite the small size. A screw not a rivet attaches the blades together. Better quality than the ones that come in a standard first aid kit. Plan to order a few more for other kits.
This is a very well-made pair of mini EMT shears. The deep blue part is rubberized for comfort. The blades are supposed to be titanium, but I don't know how they hold an edge (typically titanium blades need something like a tungsten carbide cutting edge). EDIT: I just realized this has to be titanium-bonded, so it's non-stick (as advertised on the shears). In other words, the core and the edge are probably steel with a thin coating of titanium.
This pair of shears are short enough that you can carry them through the TSA checkpoint and on to planes. I will no longer have to battle with the plastic wrappings of airplane box snacks!
The quality of these is even better than I expected. The coating on the blades is very nice and the rubber handles are comfortable. I wish they had a version of these with a serrated top blade. This is about as small as you can go and still have enough leverage to cut through heavy materials. Unlike some other mini trauma shears, the blades are thick enough not to deflect sideways when cutting rope or heavy webbing.

Acme PhysiciansCare small non stick bandage shears - perfect for ER staff, EMS personnel, paramedics, and nurses. With non stick titanium blades, shears will effortlessly cut gauze, tape, clothing, bandages and resist the stickiness of tape and glue. These superior products make titanium bonded the metal of choice when performance counts the most.
These bandage scissors seem a bit small, but they get the job done. I have used them in nursing clinicals to cut foam bandages to fit, to cut surgical tape and even to open some very stubborn blister packed tablets (cleaning them after each user of course). Their small size means they would be perfect for camping and backpacking. Or maybe for a glove box first aid kit. They are great!
Important ordering information - These scissors are listed as 4”. The actual full length of the scissors, including the handle is 4”. The length of the cutting blade is not 4”. The cutting blade is a tiny 1.5”. The handle is tiny as well. If you have average size hands, you will find it difficult to use these. I have never seen bandage scissors with a mere 1.5” blade. The only scissors I have seen with such small blade are folding travel scissors. They are sharp, and do cut bandages! They are just smaller than I expected. Technically, they are 4” in overall length.
Omg...I love these! Perfect size to keep in the little scissors part of the cargo pocket on my stretch Koi Lindsey scrub pants, yet sharper than a large bulky pair. So many uses. Cutting off hospital/fall risk/allergy bands upon demand, all kinds of wound care, with the plus that they're small enough to hook underneath wrapped gauze without worry that you'll cut someone's arm or leg, yet still sharp enough to get the job done, quickly and efficiently. And since I can keep them on my person, noone knows I have them, which ends the, "oh, can I borrow your scissors?" stress of remembering who took them and trying to get them back!
I bought these for a gift for a new nurse, and one for myself. They are very small and fit well in the front pocket of my scrubs. Kind of get lost in the big pocket on the leg of my scrubs. They are sharp and work great! Because they are so small, they would work well in a first aid kit or bug out bag.
Not complaining about the quality. I was tricked into the blade length. Advertised at 4 ", yep there exactly 4" , the whole item not the blade. My 20" chain saw has a 20" blade. That doesn't include the motor or it would of only had about a 10" blade. Just sayin.
