Folks, I have to tell you, I do not leave reviews unless I am really impressed with a product. My wife has serious arthritis, restless legs and her immune system fights her. I have ordered everything from gel packs (not to knock gel packs, some from Amazon are great). But, I freeze the gel packs and the water bottle. The gel packs get so cold that I can hardly hold them by the time it takes to get it to the bedroom. The concept of the water bottle is amazing. The ribbed design all over keeps the cold or hot from directly contacting your fingers or hands to keep you from burns or freezer burns. I take it our of the Fridge first and lay the gel packs on top. That is how well it works. Just wonderful. Plus, unlike gel packs; freezing it lasts all night while gel packs last about 3 or so hours. My wife has to put them under her legs, behind the knees and it works. AND, it is worth the extra bucks for it also.

I love the size and functionality of this hot water bottle. It is very large and covers my entire torso (which is what I was looking for). The only downside, is it has terrible off-gassing! I have been keeping it outside for about 2 weeks and it is just now slightly bearable to use. I'm hoping it gets better with time, but I will continue to use this because the rest of it is great!
I love this! I had a similar product that I borrowed and never returned to my aunt. It had to be close to 30 years old. I'm not sure if I did something or old Bessy just fulfilled her quotas fill, but she sprang a leak about two weeks ago. I was for certain I wouldn't find a replacement because the device seem so ancient, but I ventured on Amazon and was so delighted to see the choices, and there were a few. After reading the reviews and product descriptions I decided paying above what I generally would like was reasonable. I heat my electric kettle twice a day when I'm home to refill my hot water bottle. I fill around 11 pm and by 7 am you can still feel some residual heat from the lukewarm water. I keep my bottle in an old case from a clay heating bag that busted in the microwave after a few months of use. I paid $20 for it! This is my fourth night and the strong rubber smell is gone. I did however break my wooden spoon in attempts to separate the rubber that was stuck together on my first fill. I poured as much hot water as I could safely, then used the handle end of the spoon to gently tear apart the rubber. I kept filling each time I got a little more freed. Worth the extra 5 minutes. My back thanks you Peter Pan and my fingers, the old hot water bottle I haddid not have the handy dandy handle! No more scorching when I fill.
The first thing you want to do is make like you were blowing up a balloon. This will seperate that sides and allow the water to freely flow into your hot water bottle problem free.
I have discovered that the bottle is retaining heat for at least 5 hours! Pretty incredible. I use two every night. I move them around to whatever is ailing me but also find that the heat is soothing and helps me get a better nights sleep.

We are happy with the product. It stays hot for many hours and the cap fits securely so no worries about leaks. This works better than electric hot water bottles. The sides were stuck together at the beginning but I followed the suggestions from other customers and the problem was easily solved. I use water a few minutes off the boil and wrap the bottle in a tea towel. The handle is convenient when filling.
Works good, slight rubber odor. It's big, but next time will buy even bigger version.
I would suggest that one read the other reviews where it states that you need to slowly open this product with hot water initially. The water bottle is amazing after the first use. Be careful on the first use.
This is a bigger bottle than my last one, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I used the hottest tap water, and while the bottle didn't feel as hot to the touch as my dime store cheapy, it stayed hot for a very long time. It was still warm to the touch 7 hours later! I think it's going to be good.
