My family discovered the fun of Geocaching a few years ago. We're not hardcore players, but we do enjoy searching now & then. My kids are both in high school and it's hard to find something that everyone is interested in doing. So I recently purchased these bison tubes so my family could leave our own Geocaches. Both of my kids were excited to do that. Of course it took a few weeks before we were all free so we could do this, but finally we had a free weekend and good weather. These bison tubes worked very well. I had to print off my own logs for these, but it was easy to find some online. It wasn't as to hide these as we thought. In fact we have to go and rehide two of the three that we hid because they are less than 500 feet away from other caches. So only one of ours is officially listed. We chose to not cover up the metallic paint job on the tube, but we may do that in the future if we want to make a cache more challenging. We've gotten a few notifications that our cache has been found. Evidently it's the only cache so far at this nature preserve, so it's potentially bringing new people to that beautiful park. These are water proof and have a rubber gasket. The tubes are just what we wanted!
Put some tissue in one and immersed it in water for about an hour. Toweled it off and tissue came out dry, they are indeed completely waterproof. Perfect size for holding some tinder, medication, or a variety of other things. Wish they came in hi-vis colors, I like to have all my smaller camping gear items be extremely hard to miss so that I can't accidentally leave them on the ground when packing up camp and hitting the trail. The brightest color I received was red, which is a good solid red but not super attention catching. I solved this by removing the keyring and attaching it to a loop of neon micro cord. Also considered a strip of neon orange duck tape on it. Minor issue which is easy to solve, but would be cool to have one that is already a "construction worker" yellow-green or blaze orange with no modification.
I bought these to keep matches dry but are too small. However are fantastic for storing medications while camping or traveling, just have the bottles with the information handy for the cops./
Small enough not to get in the way of your keys.
Love these little containers. Water tight... easy to open... hang on keychain or clip to my small carry bag. They will hold maybe 6-8 small pills... or 2-3 capsules like Advill.

Absolutely perfect for our Geocaches! Thank you!! The bright colors are going to make them difficult to hide but, that's okay!
