HurryCane Freedom Edition Folding Cane with T Handle, Original

HurryCane Freedom Edition Folding Cane with T Handle, Original Black

HurryCane Freedom Edition Folding Cane with T Handle, Original Black

I have a bad back, and just had a second hip replacement 5 months after the first.

Previously I had purchased a collapsible cane from another manufacturer. The cane was so heavy, and the grip so uncomfortable, that I avoided using it.

My new "Hurry Cane" arrived today. What a difference. The grip does not hurt my wrist. The weight is an absolute pleasure compared to others.

I am now actually looking for excuse to walk now. I seriously never knew how important weight and fell is in a cane. I always thought "you've seen one, you've seen them all."

So, it's made of lightweight durable metal, and has a silicone or rubberized grip. Anyone needing the assistance of a cane to walk, stop looking, this is the one to buy and you'll be glad you did. It even stands on it's own and comes with a sack. When in a restaurant you no longer have to lean your cane on something and have it fall down all the time which is embarrassing. Just stand it up next to you, or fold it up and put it in it's sack. Can't say enough about this product.

I've had this cane for about a month now, and this is a wonderful product. It is much more stable that a single point cane. Before purchasing a cane ($40 is a lot of money to me), I researched the internet, talked to my PT and many other people and tried many canes in the stores. HurryCane gives me a much better feeling of security, especially when walking over uneven ground. I noticed that people have complained that it doesn't stand up by itself. It does -- only on even surfaces. It won't on lush pile carpeting or if there is anything to unbalance it. One of the things I had difficulty with is that I'm short -- 5'1", and many canes don't come down far enough for me. This one does. It even would fit someone a little shorter than I am. It's easy to set up, the instructions are clear. Definitely order from Amazon and not HurryCane -- they take a long time to ship or charge a lot for "express shipping," and you get the exact same product.

Overall, I really like this cane. I am recovering from a foot injury and need a little extra stability when not wearing my walking boot.

I love the fact that it stands by itself. It works great on both my hardwood floors and the one room that has a plush carpet. It makes it very easy for me to leave the cane where I am standing to take a few steps into the pantry or to get food out of the refrigerator. It fold up easily and is lightweight.

So far, I don't see any flexibility or pivoting in the base of the cane (I've only been using it a few days) but according to the HurryCane website, that might take time:

"The pivoting base of a new HurryCane® is designed to have less flexibility initially but will adapt to the user’s movement over time. As the cane adapts to your movements, your HurryCane® may need to have its flex reset when you want the cane to stand beside you without holding on to it. Simply ‘reset the flex’ by following these 3 easy steps:"

Those reviewers who are having issues with the cane standing might want to take a look at their website. It has illustrations on how to get your cane to stand alone again.

The only I don't like about it is the handle is a hard plastic. My last cane (after knee surgery) had a comfy foam grip. The unusual shape of the HurryCane handle means you can't replace it with any other foam grip and the only one I can find specifically designed to fit the HurryCane is silicone and only has so-so reviews.

Still, I am pleased with this purchase.

Unlike other canes with feet, the HurryCane's are close together so I won't get tangled in them and trip. Also it sorta has ankles! The feet work like my feet and bend as I walk. Third plus: HurryCane is the 1st cane that has enough adjustments to fit short people. I'm 5'1" this is 1st cane I've ever had or seen that fits me without having to have holes drilled into it. It even has an extra one too. Info says it will stand next to a wall. You can see from my photo, that it stands all on its own in middle of my kitchen floor. Having all these advantages makes a HUGE difference in a cane. It is well worth the extra $$$. I didnt notice, but do hope it was made in USA or the company will soon astray making in USA!

I purchased this for my mom for her birthday. She has a straight cane that falls over when she sets it down. She also has a silver 'quad cane' with a large base that she trips on when she tries to use it. The Hurry Cane is the best of both worlds. She loves that it stands up on its own and has a tiny base. She feels much more secure with it. She tells me the hand grip is very comfortable and she also likes the wrist strap. Definitely a good purchase.

Description

The #1 selling cane on Amazon just got better! This is the cane that is featured on National television! The Freedom Edition includes a re-designed feet locking system with the WhisperFlex base design, for a smooth and silent pivot. Inspired by the Most Advanced Machine on Earth: The Human Body. We built it from the ground up to feel like an extension of the body. Engineered with 4 critical innovations: 1. Stabilizes like a foot: Just like the human foot, the HurryCane gives you 3 points of contact for superior balance and stability. It naturally simulates your instinctive walking motion to provide you firm footing on any surface. Whether youre sitting or standing, the SteadiGrip base gives you more traction at any angle. 2. Pivots like an ankle: The ankle is the most complex joint in the body because it has the trickiest job: support your full weight while giving you the flexibility to walk, run and turn on a dime. It automatically pivots to help you maintain balance on inclines, uneven ground and shifting terrain. We designed the HurryCanes proprietary pivoting head to meet the same demanding standards - and it does it all, automatically. 3. Bends like a knee: Your knees bend to help you get in and out of restrictive places like cars. But the HurryCane is even better: instead of one joint, you get 2! When you need to store it in a purse, glove box or under a chair, the HurryCane folds up in seconds to one-third its normal size. And when you need, it flips out instantly. While our cane has two joints, its still strong and sturdy enough to be pressure-tested to support 350 pounds. 4. Changes in height: People come in all different heights. With just the push of a button, it instantly adjusts to any of 8 convenient heights, ranging from 30.5\ to 37.5". To enhance your mobility experience add these HurryCane Accessories: HurryCane Replacement Feet the Heavenly Handle. Weight capacity of 350 lbs.

I purchased this for my 90 year old mother. She absolutely loves it. She has a closet full of single point hook canes from various sources. She never liked using them...........most likely due to poor performance and less than adequate balance assist. Even with use, a single point hook cane does not offer great balance.
With the HurryCane Freedom Edition Folding Cane with T Handle she now happily carries and uses everywhere she goes, and loves every feature about it. This should keep her on her feet, with decreased risk of fall for some time to come.
A huge level above all of her other canes. Highly recommended.

How can you not like this cane. It does everything well. When I read about similar canes one thing kept jumping out at me, that was the maximum weight it would support. Why was this different on every one? Hmmmm, could it be one is made with sturdier material and therefore less likely to crumble and cause a fall? Everything about this is a cut above. The handle is padded as someone pointed out who had a knock off model. When I read the instructions which arrived with the cane, it seems even the three pronged foot is adjustable. The tension molds itself to the user. And, it folds for use when traveling or storing in a tight space. I like this and think it is well worth the few dollars I might save on a knock-off model.

While traveling in Portugal in June of 2015, I fell, broke my ankle and shattered my knee. I spent five months in a wheelchair. When it was time to start walking, I had to use a walker and then graduated to a cane. One year later, I no longer need a cane in the house, but now that I am back outside, I always have the cane with me for support. My ankle is fine, but my knee could not be repaired short of having a new knee. Having spent all last summer and part of the fall in a wheelchair, I was not ready to be laid up for an even longer period. I chose to wait for a knee replacement. So I must always have the cane available. I love that it is collapses, and I can carry it with me all the time. When those pesky cobblestones appear, I whip it out, and I have instant stability and confidence. Seven months after my accident, the hurricane accompanied me to France, and I had no problem. This past spring, it tackled New Orleans, Charleston, Memphis and Nashville without a problem, and will accompany me to Bermuda in July and Scotland in October. It is a workhorse, and I highly recommend it.

I bought this for my mother after she injured her knee and she likes it. She doesn’t like having to use a cane at all but The Hurry Cane is the best.
This was her third cane and perfect for the stage of her injury. She used a straight cane sometimes, but mostly a four prong cane until it became too bulky.
The hurry cane stands on its own but it does tip easily sometimes depending on the type of floor it’s placed on. I don’t think that matters much because it’s awesome that it folds into a small device that is easy to transport and has its own carrying bag, which is nice. It’s great to keep handy just in case the injury flares up or for fatigue after walking for long periods of time. Getting someone to bring a cane along for a day who doesn’t want to use one isn’t easy, but The Hurry Cane made it easier. Now I don’t have to be a “human cane”.

This cane is so much easier to use with the swivel end and triple-foot than a traditional cane. I can use it in the lawn while walking the dog for more stability than I found with a traditional cane. The HurryCane folds easily and unfolds even quicker and very securely. I like that the elastic strap to hold the cane folded stays on the cane with the hand-strap. Shortly after my ankle improved enough that I wasn't using the HurryCane, my husband had a motorcycle crash and used it for about a week until he was walking more steady. Just a quick height adjustment, and he was away with more independence. The slight swivel enables one to use the cane easier to rise from a siting position. We'll definitely keep at least one HurryCane in the house. Now my mother wants one. The HurryCane folds small enough to fit in my duffel or rolling bag so I can travel with it.
