GRETHER'S Pastilles Sugar Free, Blackcurrant, 15 oz/4 Tins of 3.75oz

I am addicted to these overly expensive treats...I was a rock singer for many years and never knew about these. If I had, perhaps I would not have needed so much beer to sing Cocker and Jagger tunes. If you buy these, please take care to note the seal on the can. If it was opened it was because "customs" opened it and only god knows who or what with. I have sent back opened cans, I suggest you do the same. Otherwise enjoy!

Probably the best (and certainly the most expensive) pastilles ever made, now in sugar free form. As a diabetic, I appreciate the effort. This product used to be made in Great Britain and is now made in Switzerland (by hand, the tin notes). They certainly must be made by hand in order to justify a price that is approximately 40 cents each if you buy the small tin and around half that if you buy the large. I highly recommend going big because these candies are ADDICTIVE. Also available in redcurrant, which I haven't yet tried.

Holy crap these are amazing!!!! I've literally never tasted anything like this in my life. The first time I tried them I grabbed a can in a pharmacy up in Beverly Hills and was shocked when the cashier said my total was $17! Then I tried them, and I've been ordering them ever since on Amazon. You seriously need to just try it once!

I like these cough drops because they are made of glyserin which is easier on my sore mouth. I get thrush regularly, I cough all of the time and my regular Riccola Lemon Mint cough drops start to drop my mouth apart. Most of my issues stem from my severe dry mouth so it's nice to have a cough drop that is more soothing than normal.

I love these pastilles! Whenever I overuse my voice or start to get a cold, I pop one of these in my mouth and the glycerin soothes instantly. There are other flavors (red current, black current & blueberry) but the elderflower is a lighter flavor. They come in both sugar free and regular versions.

Description

Grether's Pastilles were first created over 150 years ago in London under the name Allen & Hanbury Ltd., quickly gaining popularity for their intense fruity flavor, unique soft and dissolving texture, and ability to soothe sore throats and strained voices. Word of the pastilles reached all over Europe - bringing them to their current home in Switzerland, where they became what are known today as Grether's Pastilles. While the name has changed, the formula has not. To this day, the pastilles are fashioned with the same original recipe and attention to detail that was used in 1850. Vegetable glycerine alleviates mouth dryness and creates a protective film around vocal cords. Blackcurrant is harvested during its peak season for immune boosting Vitamin C, and gives the pastilles their dark color and intense berry flavor. Combined with other thoughtfully and purposefully sourced ingredients, every single pastille is aged for 15 weeks to develop its soothing effects and unmistakable taste. Loved by singers, performers, and speakers all over the world to prevent and soothe strained vocal cords - enjoy a Grether's Pastille at the first sign of a sore throat or regularly to keep your voice in optimal condition. Easily stow in a bag, on a desk, or in a drawer for instant relief - or simply to enjoy the bold, intense flavor of a Grether's Blackcurrant Pastille. Also available in: Redcurrant, Elderflower, and Blueberry.

I went to college for singing and audition /preform at a professional level and strangely enough water dries me out sometimes before I sing (especially when I'm nervous before an audition or show). And I tried the usual menthol and honey candies that both left my mouth lined with a layer of the product, which was never bad for a cold/ sore throat, but never ideal for when I was about to sing. I must say that after searching the internet for reviews( which are far and VERY few between) I finally caved and got this about a year ago. And, for me, this is a GREAT product. It leaves my throat lubriated without any sticky residue. And YES the price an be a bit steep but I took a tip from other fans and cut the candies in half so the can lasts me longer( on a student's budget, it was necessary!!) Can't wait to buy and try the other favors.

Since Pine Bros. Honey Cough Drops re-introduced their "original formula" drops, which are nothing like the original formula, I've begun using these to sooth my throat when I'm working. (I'm a singer/songwriter by trade.) Expensive, but each lasts a long time in the mouth. The sugarfree don't have that weird undertaste so many sugarfree items have. Very pleased with these.

As a professional singer and voice coach I am always looking for products that soothe my throat. These pastilles are AMAZING. I have tried all the flavors and love them all!! They turn into a gummy texture once they are in your mouth and start to dissolve and do wonders for coating my throat, especially when I've got a wicked cough! Get these!!!

Couldn't find these in stores so ordered online. I have dry mouth due to a medical condition and these were recommended by my Doctor. As you chew them they cause saliva to accumulate in your mouth thereby alleviating the condition of dry mouth. They come with 44 lozenges per tin.

These pastilles are wonderful! They really help relieve scratchy throats caused by allergies. I love that a sugar-free version is available, even though the regular version is not overly sweet. I have purchased these in the tins in the past. These are slightly less expensive. I keep the foil bag under my pillow at night. I'm hooked!
