I will say up front that I rarely write reviews, and that my motivation is solely to encourage the many, many people who spend hours in front of the computer for a living to give consideration to this product and, second, to support a vendor who did a top notch job.

The short of it: I've had these but a week, but I am feeling the benefits in terms of eye strain and, I believe, insomnia (I have another medical condition that overlaps with the latter, as it were, but the eyestrain has greatly abated even in the past few days. These are sturdy, sturdier than a similar pair I lived by for some time, then broke. Being on a tight budget, I bought after a few months an over-the-glasses of a type I vaguely remember grampy having back in the day. I'm not a proud man, yo, but ... 'nuff said.

In any event, these are sturdy and effective, and handy enough, clipping easily onto my glasses. On mine, they fit perfectly. The other point of most interest is whether they work. As noted, I am noticing far less eye fatigue, and given the breadth of information on the page, and that can be ascertained from googling the information provided, I expect I'll be reaping that benefit when I'm finally on the mend otherwise.

Kudos to the vendor for perfect shipping, both in terms of time (I have Prime, and this is the first time in ages I've actually received something in two days), and more importantly, in packaging it to ensure it wouldn't be damaged.

I would definitely return to this vendor (pardon, word seems impersonal), without hesitation. To anyone perusing the other options out there, this is what you want. I checked out a large number of options, and this is the best value.

I've been using uvex glasses for several years and they work well except that I do need to use readers now I can fit the readers over the uvex glasses but it's not a perfect solution. These Spectra479 blue blockers are a perfect solution if you need to wear glasses while reading (for example). Other things that I really like about them: 1) the case provided is perfect for keeping the glasses unscratched and for traveling. It's a nice slim case ideal for packing. 2) the test image that they send is great. These glasses do block the blue light that causes the circadian disruption. The image also allowed me to check a couple of other pairs of glasses - the uvex check out fine, another pair not so good. Also bring up the image with and without f.lux and with and without the ios "blue blocker" to get an idea of how well these blue light solutions work. and 3) most important, they not only block blue light but the let a lot of other wavelengths through so things aren't too dark. Great lenses.

This is my second pair of blue blocking glasses I've purchased, the first pair slipped over your existing glasses and were very uncomfortable, pinching the sides of the head and causing headaches- they also didn't block very much blue light. I returned them and decided to try these. They are immensely more comfortable, as no part of the glasses touches your face, they clip over your existing glasses. They also feel like they are a lot higher quality than the ones I had before.

Using an aquarium light that only emits blue light, I did a before-and-after with these glasses on. The effect is even more pronounced in person, the light almost completely disappears so it is clearly doing its job and rejecting blue light away from your eyes. I'm impressed and excited to see how they work in reducing eye strain and (hopefully) helps me fall asleep faster.

These are very, very high quality clip-ons. They are very orange and should do a good job of block the blue light from the LEDs that light my desk and my bedside lamp. The only thing I don't like is they are not flip-up, as I'm constantly up and down from my desk, and in the winter when it's dark here in the Pacific Northwest daytime, I have to constantly remove them. Luckily, the attachment mechanism is spring-loaded, so I can move the clips away from the glasses lense so that when they are removed and re-installed, they don't scratch my glasses.

I was skeptical when I bought these lenses as to how well they would work with my prescription glasses. My wife and I watch TV before going to sleep at night and wanted to try blocking out the blue light to see what affect it would have. The lenses themselves are fantastic, fit over my prescription glasses, and are extremely easy to put on and off. I just purchased another pair for my wife. Regarding blue light in general, I have tried these lenses 3 nights in a row and do notice a difference when going to bed and being a little less stimulated. Also, watching at night with these lenses on will definitely cut down on the overall eye strain. Not specific to these lenses but to all blue blocking lenses, your TV picture will not be as colorful. So, watching TV at night on my 4k HDR Samsung with any blue blocking lenses on takes some getting used to, but in my opinion the decreased eye strain and overall stimulation before going to bed is worth it!

The Secret "Sleep Hack" of High Performers
It's amazing how many top level entrepreneurs and "A" listers use blue blocking glasses at night. Up until recently, it has been a closely guarded performance secret. But how do they work?

Blue Light at Night
Blue light exposure at night has been proven time and time again to be disastrous to your body's internal clockwork. Your body tracks the time of day with special receptors in the eye that sense light levels. They are extremely sensitive to blue light. This is a problem because any blue light exposure after dark creates conflicting signals. Your biorhythms can become fragmented and distorted. Not Good...

The Disruption Zone
While the body is sensitive to higher levels of all visible light, the range of 450 - 510nm is by FAR the most disruptive.

BioRhythm Safe: The New Orange Standard
Most blue blocking glasses are not suitable for nighttime eyewear. The claim of blocking 99.9% blue light is meaningless if the full Disruption Zone is not included. Our glasses are specifically designed to block light in this range. By establishing these parameters we are setting a new standard that we hope other manufactures will follow.

Virtual Darkness
By blocking 99.8% of light in the Disruption Zone, we are creating a personal bubble of "virtual darkness".

* Safely use computers, tablets, and phones
* Protects against the strong blue emissions from LED and florescent lights.
* Allows your body to shift effortlessly into nighttime physiology
* Allows for rapid sleep onset and deep natural sleep cycles
* Virtual personal darkness can be taken with you anywhere you go!

I've been suffering from extremely sensitive to bluelight eyes for several years. I'm the type with F.lux on at 1200K all the time, if I dare to watch a movie at a theater I'll get such a crippling migraine I have to lie down, I can't remember the last time I'd gone more than 3 days without at least a 5 out of 10 scale headache.

After I bought these I immediately noticed their effectiveness on a 3 day weekend I spent at a friend's apartment, spending basically every waking hour staring at an unprotected TV with these on, and I didn't get a headache once. At first I only wore them when I was looking at an unprotected screen, then I started wearing them first thing in the morning to counter morning headaches. For the past week I've been wearing them all the time I've had my glasses on, which is every moment I'm awake and not showering. I honestly can't remember the last time I went a full week without a headache, but these made it possible.

The longer I go without a headache the more I can feel the enthusiasm I felt I lost in life coming back. It's a wonderful feeling to focus on learning new things and enjoying working on a difficult problem without the constant, never ending throbs of pain in my cranium. I'd been meaning to leave a good review, and the past week of blissful painlessness finally got me off my butt and writing it out.

As much as this is a review for potential customers, I also want to thank Spectra479 for making these glasses that literally changed my life. I honestly want a pair of your frames in my prescription and officially kiss the color blue goodbye!

I already own a pair of Uvex Skyper Blue Light Blocking glasses, and they're good for when I watch TV or such, but they were not comfortable at all when I needed to wear reading glasses underneath. These clip ons by Spectra479 work great with my readers, and the clip is very easy to use. They are larger than my readers which I appreciate, since it helps to block light from the sides, top, and bottom (my Uvex glasses have side panels that help do that).

I have "fitover" sunglasses, and considered those for using over my readers, but I am SO GLAD I chose the Spectra479 clip-ons instead. I am very sensitive to weight on my nose--my regular glasses before cataract surgery were frameless silhouettes--and these are comfortable for a good long while whenI'm working on my computer in the evening or reading a book. Every morning I remove them from my readers and store them in the plastic case that came with them. The very few times I've cleaned them I've used a microfiber cleaning cloth—I've had no issues with scratches at all.

I have also installed f.lux on my computer, and between these glasses, the f.lux app, and not watching intense TV a couple hours before bed, my sleep has improved a lot.

I also appreciate the emails from the company checking to see if I have any questions and including a Quick Start Guide. These clip on blue blockers are a terrific investment in my quest for easier sleep!

Great product. Truly filters out blue light. I use it almost everyday whenever I work a night shit. Definitely helps maintain a better circadian rhythm.

I also tried it out on a ski slope as a replacement for a ski goggles which get fogged easily and it works well for that purpose too.

It's a true blue light filter so everything will be "blue light less" which means it will look Orange. But the eye eases into it and adapts. Reduces eye strain tremendously.

My only complaint is that the product can be made slightly higher quality. I think they can make it even thinner and lighter, as a clip on it weighs up my prescription glasses a bit. Also the manufacturing design is not perfectly symmetrical by a degree or two. You have to look closely in order to see this, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Would recommend to all night shift workers and night owls.

I almost didn't order due to price.. I bought the dual pair pack and I'm SO glad I did!! They are straight up Quality right out of the box! When you put them on you KNOW they are quality. It's the difference between non-polarized sunglasses and Polarized.. you see the difference. I'm so glad I bought these. I've been wearing the daylight ones all day. I love love love them both!
I was born a night person. I have such a hard time not staying up until five in the morning. I often have to stay up all night, sometimes a couple of nights trying to reset my body clock. I naturally want to sleep between 6am and 2pm. But it makes it very difficult when the rest of the world is not in my time. My day never really begins until 3pm. So I'm trying to block all the blue ray's I can to see if it will help me to be able to go to bed by midnight and actually fall asleep instead of laying there for hours and then giving up.
I bought these, blue light blocking lightbulbs for my bedroom where I spend most evenings, and purchased s sunrise clock. I mostly bought these for television to block that.. they should come with blue light blockers like my phone. But they don't, so I'll try this.
I totally forgot I even had the daylight lenses on!
The night lens are gorgeous, I have no problem with the change of color! So pretty!
They come with a hard case and a drawstring bag.. very nice! I was impressed with the packaging and inside note from this family owned business.
You can't go wrong. Well worth the price. I will take very good care of them! They fit my glasses perfectly! I hope they get to making them in many shapes for different lens shapes!
Is it weird I'm so excited about these!!!? Lol
Buy them! You will love them!

I have trouble with dry eyes. I hadn't associated it with computer screen use until I read an article about blue light and eye damage.
I found the clip-ons block blue light completely (based on a test graphic). I noticed immediate eye relief when wearing them.
They clip-on easily to one set of lenses with thick frames that I wear for computer use. I had some difficulty with another pair of glasses with thinner frames but a larger distance between the "nose" edge of the lenses. I am ordering a second pair, because in spite of the cost, they do the job better than other lenses I've tried. (The Uvex glasses just don't work with reading glasses.)
They come in a slim but quite sturdy case with a microfiber soft case to boot. (The microfiber case can also be used for cleaning.)
An excellent solution for someone who must use prescription or reading glasses and wants to block blue light.
