My wife just had knee surgery, and they gave her reusable ice packs to help reduce swelling and pain. The problem was they only provided 3, and they need to used in pairs. The brand that came with the knee brace were expensive and would have taken forever, so I checked Amazon and found these.
PROs
* They are the exact same size as the provided ice packs.
* They have rounded corners, so they slide into the slots in the brace without catching on the material of the brace.
* They are more attractive than the clear plastic ice packs, and seem better made.
* They were half the price!
CONs
* These do not seem to get as cold, though that may be the material they are made from.
* They don't seem to stay cold as long as the originals.
Overall, my wife says they are good, not great, but she does like to swap these in when the originals get too cold to be comfortable. She also really likes how easily these slide into the pockets as the other ones catch easily and are a bit frustrating to get into the slots. I think they were worth what I paid, and they seem to be doing the job, so I'd recommend them.
BEST SOFT ICE PACK EVER! No leaks...really well made! I've purchased the 3M ice packs for years & years & they leak at the corners in no time at all...such a waste of money! These Roscoe packs are made for longevity! Large sizes available as well, perfect for your back or wrapping around your whole foot or knee, shoulder etc.
I will buy these & recommend them to others ALWAYS!
I am currently using this product as I write. It performs just as intended. I wish I had purchased a larger size as it is just a bit too small to comfortable drape across the shoulders. The only unremarkable thing worth mentioning is that my hot and cold pack does not look exactly as pictured. Instead, it has white bias tape around the edges. As the pack is around a quarter inch in depth, the heat retention is around half an hour if you stick with the recommended 50 seconds in the microwave at a regular power setting.
GREAT! Doctor told my boyfriend to use a hot pack to try to disperse a fatty area under the skin that had built up before surgery becomes an option. IT's been working pretty well. He likes it and I also used it when I was sick to try and bring down the temperature. Great product. HOT AND COLD.
I love these things. I have really bad arthritis in my right knee. I walk 35 miles each week while doing my job. I wear an elastic type knee brace. I can put the small size ice pack inside my brace when i am walking. It fits perfectly. I dont need to put anything between the ice pack and my skin because of the fabric this pack is made out of. It also molds to my knee exactly. Ive tried the ‘plastic’ packs, lots of different types. This pack is so much better. Im ordering more of the small size and a large one for when i am at home and my knee really hurts. Very pleased with the ice pack, the cost of the ice pack and the quality of the Ice pack. Buy yourself some. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered this after fracturing my elbow, since I was advised that ice would help with healing and pain relief. I ordered the medium size, which nicely fit my entire forearm from elbow to wrist when I positioned it at an angle. (I'm 5'1", so my arms aren't particularly long.) I tossed it in our freezer and brought it out when needed; I used it over several weeks, and there didn't seem to be any degradation in quality after multiple freezes and thaws. I only used it for cold (not heat), but I love that the pack is printed with directions re. how long to microwave it for. (I ordered a smaller wrap-version ice pack from another manufacturer, but heating directions weren't printed on the ice pack or wrap and I've already misplaced them.) Overall, I was extremely happy with the product (and the price)!
I had this in a smaller size for the elbow.
Got this size (7.5") for the small of the back, but find it does the elbow even better than the smaller size.
The perimeter seems to heat a bit more than the gel portion, i.e. almost too hot, but not too hot. It's fine, but it would be nice if they refined this aspect somehow.
Most of the material seems to be vinyl.
It's a very useful item
Well first I will say is the reason I kept it is it’s a great material and quality. The thing is it heats up fast but doesn’t last long AT All. The other problem is it barely fits the brace I bought it for when it was the one reccomended it to go with this brace. So I can double it up and it’s huge bulky or Lay it straight and gave it stick out and not go under a shirt. I would give it a two for hot pack four for cold and quality and three for size and functional
I bought a smaller version of this hot/cold pack as well. I have to use heat on a knee injury and the smaller size covers the entire knee area and then I put this larger pack under my knee so I get heat for my hamstring and calf muscles. It would be nice if they had a strap to secure them in place, but I just use an ace bandage to keep them in place.
I have migraines & fibromyalgia & use ice packs constantly. These ice packs are great. I use them many times a day & so far they have held up quite well! I love that they come in many different sizes!
☆Don't bring them in your carry-on on a plane or they will take it from you! I was very disappointed to have mine taken on my way to a trip!!☆
