Drive Medical Nitro Euro Style White Rollator Walker, White

Its been about 3 days receiving this walker. I am not going to put up pictures, you already can see in great detail what this rollator looks like. I have Lupus, so if you know anything about it, it aggressively deteriorates the joints in a very painful manner. Since needing to walk on the streets with a walker, I've had a few provided by prescription, which is essentially the 4 wheeled basic walkers, which is what I was accustomed to. I did not know that there was a difference, until my last walker 2 front wheels was split down the middle and I almost fell on the sidewalk because of it, saved by my son. If you know New York City sidewalks they are not the best maintained, uneven and truly mostly messed up, as they say if you can make it here you can make it anywhere, right... lol. Anyway, I decided to purchase one myself, I thought of buying one of the same I had before, but chose based on what I have used before and hoping to see what's better out there and still reasonably priced.
So far I have to say this is a truly awesome product. I fondly call this the 'Lamborghini' of walkers, (which as an experienced user of walkers for the last 2 years, travelling through New York then flying to New Orleans and walking around there as well, so I do get around, well this walker glides so easily through the streets and sidewalks with barely a touch, due to the bigger wheels, which means a lot to my joints since my shoulders started getting worse due to the pressure put upon it by the pushing of walkers I've had in the past. I went through 3-4 inches of snow the last couple of days, with much ease. This puts less strain and pressure on my shoulder joints, that's worth so much to me, that I felt compelled to place a review for those of you who need items like this for quality of life. The other walkers when folded down, was still difficult and very bulky to get into a taxi or my friends small cars. Firstly, this walker I was able to despite my painful shoulders fold this down so easily and it folded so small compared to others, that my friend put it in her car in seconds as opposed to a good 5-10 minutes it took to fit the other walkers I had.
My son recently rented a car for me to get around for 1 week for Christmas (rather than public transportation) it was the best present ever, and I had to fold my old walker down by myself and put it in the car, it was difficult that most times strangers in New York had to come over to help me put it in the car. If I had this walker then I would have done it myself with no problem. I am a very independent individual, love to do for myself if it is within my means, hate needing other peoples assistance, but such is life, so doing for myself is a big deal to me. The seat is top of the line, the sturdiness of the product, very compact design compared to others yet when you sit it is absolute comfort and class. Got lots of compliments in the short time I got it.
When on the bus or public transportation in New York, it easily fits under the seat or folds out of the way of other passengers, that is another plus for me, hate infringing my disability on others, its my disability not theirs.
So in short MOBILITY & INDEPENDENCE for an individual that's considered extremely disabled PRICELESS! So thank you to the makers of this product. I do not know them, they don't know me, so they did not pay me to say these things, this is my independent review on this product, in an honest a manner as possible. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!

I don't know what I would do if we had not found this Rollator. Everyone stops my husband and asks him where he purchased this walker. Even all of his doctors ask him about it. It is very well made and an excellent deal at around $200 on Amazon with free shipping on Prime. He is 6' tall and the standard version of this Rollator works perfect. The handles are adjustable and would lower to fit someone shorter too. The white color is my favorite and is so classy looking. If you have to use a walker/rollator you might as well look sporty. Extremely sturdy. Great wheels on it. Turns corners very well. Great storage compartment and locking hand brakes. Very comfortable to sit in as well. Folds quickly and fits in the back of my standard SUV. It would fit in the back seat of a car also. I purchased three of these because I like it so much. I leave one in the car, one upstairs and one downstairs. If you need a walker, just buy it! By the way, I did not receive any compensation for my endorsement of this product.

This is an awesome walker. We got this for my 98 year old mother-in-law, who reached that age by staying active. Unfortunately, in the last year or so, her balance has gotten worse, making it harder for her to walk places. She can use a cane, but that doesn't work well for walks on uneven sidewalks when your vision is impaired.

This walker provides the stability she needs, it rolls smoothly, and the brakes are easy to grip, even for an older person. It folds in half so it's super narrow to store it. There is a handle on the seat that you jerk up and the sides pull in. To set it up again, you just push out on the sides.

The seat has been very helpful. She can go on half her walk, the first part of which is uphill, and rest at the top by setting the brakes and turning around and sitting on the seat. This is well thought out and feels like a nice piece of machinery. I made a few adjustments for the height initially to get it where she wanted it, but that took less than 5 minutes; it's easily adjustable.

She doesn't use the pouch much, because if she's walking to, say, her pool aerobics class a few blocks away, she just rests her backpack in the seat. Obviously this unit works indoors and out--in snowy weather it worked well in a shopping mall to get some exercise.

One tip. We set it out every morning on the walk by the front door so she doesn't have to take it down the three stairs from the foyer where we store it. She can do that because it's light enough, but we'd rather she not. Because she might take a couple walks during the day, it sits out, and a couple times it got rained on. That bothered me because it's a nice piece of gear, so I got it dried off, and my wife found a clear stroller cover that fits it. So if there is any chance of rain, we leave it out covered. We've had it for a few months now, and it's made quite a difference in her life, giving her the chance to keep exercising in a safe manner.

The near perfect reviews for this product are completely justified. I am a 51-yr old Chemical Engineer who recently had a total knee replacement. Realizing the absolutely critical nature of a good PT regimen, I researched numerous walker designs and settled on this make/model. Surprisingly, I was up and walking almost immediately after my surgery and, thanks to the Nitro walker, managed to get in a ton of walk time. This was a godsend as my Orthopedic surgeon told me to get up and 'at 'em' as soon as humanly possible following the surgery. The 4-wheel design makes for a smooth, quiet 'ride' and the hand-brakes are the perfect safety measure for safe operation. I am a stocky 5'-8" (~250 lb.) man and found the Nitro design plenty sturdy enough for me. I highly recommend this product.

I took several months researching every kind of rolling walker. Budget was limited to about $300. Before purchasing at Amazon®, went to try one of the units at a local medical supply location. Although it is convenient to try, many such stores feature the same items as Amazon® but nearly always at a higher price point.
• DESIGN
The design of the chassis (or frame) of the device I purchased permits independent suspension which I never had on my older rolling walker. This makes this device unbeatable for rough terrain.
All walkers or rollators fall into 3 chassis or frame patterns. First the traditional “X” frame. Second, the inverted “U”. Third, is similar to the car chassis or a side view of the letter “V” ( visualise the letter “V” and rotate it so it looks more like “ >”). This is the design I selected which permits very smooth navigation on rough terrain.
•PROS & CONS
To date, I found this product to be far above anything I tried in a medical supply store or similar units on Amazon or other sites. Obviously, if money is not a concern, superior items can be found ( Note: In the UK, I product is being sold with air filled tires making it superior in many ways but the cost is well over $1500 (US).
• BOTTOM LINE
I've had this product just about 2 months and walk about 4-5 miles every day. It navigates nearly every terrain, is easy to load in a car (not shown in video but simply lift the centre handle in middle of seat and unit folds up completely using one hand.
The device was delivered completely assembled and came with a rather thick clear plastic cover which I used to cover it every evening. After not being able to get about this has removed my frustration helped me look and feel much better! [NOTE: I received no compensation for this review.]

I received my Drive Nitro Euro Style, white, rollator.

I have used it every day, including pushing it on the lawn and on a road with small rocks. It is easy to manuever.

It comes with a zippered, mesh storage bag that hangs on the front. I checked with the manufacturer about how much weight can be placed in the bag, the Drive chat representative confirmed the maximum weight is 20 lbs. I do not plan on putting anything too heavy in there, but it is good to know.

I had no problem adjusting the height of the handle bars. I measured and the seat is 20" from the floor which is perfect for me at 5'6" tall. My feet do not dangle, and the seat is so comfortable.

I am not the strongest person; however, I was able to fold my rollator one-handed and lift it into the back of my car.

I have already been asked about this rollator because they are looking to purchase a new one with the large wheels and side-ways folding. Another person commented on how stylish it looked.

I live in a city with a decent public transportation system, but I hadn't been able to use it for the last few years, which was really cramping my style/compromising my independence. I'm in my early 30s, and have a genetic disorder that results in progressive disability. I can't stand for long periods, and often struggle with balance. I have dysfunction and damage in several major joints, which rules out crutches and manual wheelchairs. A rollator seemed like a possible solution, but I needed something that would be able to deal with my neighborhood's jacked up sidewalks and would be easy to take on trains and buses.

The Nitro has a number of features that made it a great choice for my purposes. The 10" front wheels can handle sidewalk cracks, trolley tracks, and gravel, not to mention low curbs (or poorly executed curb cuts). It has a pedal near one of the rear wheels that you can step on to help leverage it up over higher curbs. The break cables are internal, so they don't get caught on people or things. It folds easily with one hand, yet can still balance on all 4 wheels while folded, making it easy to stow on crowded public transit or in tight restaurants. This also allows me to drag it up a few stairs in a pinch, because I can hold the rail with one hand and my rollator with the other. The frame has a sturdy design that is standing up to my abuse thus far. The seat and backrest are soft, which make them not great for carrying things, but also makes this the most comfortable rollator I've ever sat in.

Initially, I was a bit concerned about the height, but it turned out that the lowest setting is perfect for me. I'm 5'4", so I'd recommend that anyone who is shorter go with the "hemi" version. This is also a few inches narrower than many other rollators on the market, which was a plus for me, but might be a minus for someone bigger. I was also concerned about the bag, because I had read some reviews saying that it made it difficult to fold the rollator. However, I think that Drive has updated the design recently, because my rollator's bag hangs in front of the seat, rather than between the front wheels, and I can fold it even with a few items in the bag. But definitely don't expect to be able to stuff the bag to capacity and then fold it.

Finally, just a few things that prevent me for giving this product a full five stars (I would love to see Drive address these issues in future models): The break levers and mounts are plastic, which makes me nervous about breakage. For the list price, they should be metal. The distance from the handles to the break levers is a bit far for people with smaller hands. The latch that keeps it folded is somewhat awkward (and also plastic). And, at 17.5 lbs, I imagine that this is on the heavy side for many people with disabilities. I'm sure they could shave a few pounds off if they really set their minds to it ;)

My mother was beginning to shuffle about and I was very concerned for her stability when walking. She was losing her confidence. It was torture to watch her struggle. However, she would NOT use a walker. She thought they made her look bend-over and old. I was determined to buy her THIS walker. She didn't want me to order it, but then I asked her what color she wanted, and as we looked at the options, she became interested in the product. When the walker arrived, we excitedly unpacked it. Mom had never SEEN such a nice walker. She LOVES that she can stand erect and walk with speed and confidence, again. Rather than staying in her room because she is afraid she'll fall, she now goes out to be with her many friends, using her walker to exercise inside and outside the building. This product is exceptional!

Absolutely love this. It is so light that I have no trouble putting it in and out of the trunk of the car myself. I bought the white one and it looks so clean and sleek. My Orthopedic Dr. was asking me all kinds of questions about it, and mentioned he had never seen one. I was even approached by other patients about where I got it and even let them have a test drive. Five of them are now not very happy with the ones they own. It turns very easy and the large front wheels will travel over rough ground and even heavy crushed rock driveways around the barn. It came fully assembled and the wires are all safe inside so you don't catch them on things. Very easy to open and close. One of the things I love is the fact that the seat is low enough that my feet don't dangle above ground and fall asleep when I'm sitting. I'm five three, and my husband is five ten and he has no problems getting in or out of it either. It may have cost more that the ones I could get in the drug store, but the comfort and ease of use more than pay for it as far as I'm concerned. I've been cruising with my Nitro for several weeks now, so happy I bought it.

I purchased an "open box" walker & was in great dismay when I saw that the box was mashed upon delivery. A great relief to open it & find a truly "like new" walker, complete with new owner's literature. This walker is amazing! The wheels do the trick, making it so easy to push it over anything. One fact nobody else will tell you is that I own a Smart car & guess what? It fits in the rear area, keeping the passenger seat usable. Cool?
