I purchased this for my son who has SPD. It is amazing!! The size is perfect. He's 6 and we went with the 6-9 year old, size medium. There is plenty of room for him to grow and still use this. He is THRILLED and has been in it every single day. It also helps with his regulatory issues because he can stretch to help strengthen his upper/lower body as well as balancing inside while playing. I found it bring a good sense of "body awareness" as well. I highly recommend it!! This particular one is nice because there is a snap closure, as opposed to velcro. So nothing to get caught on the fabric or hair/clothing.
5 year old son, 43 inchs, 39lbs. I ordered a med and it fit very well. I will be ordering another once he starts to out grow this.
My 5 year old loves this he is a sensory seeker and this gives him just what he needs. He calls it his "cocoon" and right away commented on how soft and silky it feels.
He often gets in it and rolls and tumbles around. It keeps him out of my pillow cases. He has fallen asleep in it which scared me the first time and still looks odd from the outside, I have learned once he is asleep to just go over and pull the top half off of his head and face. That's the part that scares me the most. When he tells me he is frustrated or upset I say how about some meditation in your "cocoon". Once in- he is fast asleep. Bless this invention!!
My son has Autism and this is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I absolutely love how happy my son is. I just got it today and put it on him. He is walking through the house humming and smiling. He is usually a calm kid but I have a hard time giving him the sensory input he craves. When he is seeking sensory input, he pounds himself against things. He will also run at full speed and bump into me. He will chew on things and scratch himself. He can take his arms out to play with his trains or ask someone to snap him up if he wants to be fully enclosed. Hopefully this does the trick. It seems to do the trick as of right now!
My autistic 5 year old with spd loves this. She's mostly been putting it on and spinning in circles. Right out of the box she was in love with this. It's like a cat with a box, she was instantly drawn to it. I was surprised, usually nothing lives up to my expectations but this has surpassed my hopes. She's very tall and 65lbs, growing out of size 8 and wears size 13 shoes. I bought her a medium and the size provides enough resistance but still has room to grow. It's already been through a hot wash and hung to dry without issues.
We bought this for our seven year old nephew’s birthday in March. He unfortunately suffers from ADHD, anxiety, and often has inconsolable “fits”.
Upon opening he was a little weirded out by his normally “odd” aunts odd gift and moved on towards his more mainstream gifts. However, later that day he unfortunately was having an incredibly hard time (sugar crash, tired, kids being unfair on the new Twister Game, et cetera) I opened this gift for him, crouching down at his level, stretching out this weird suit while encouraging him to get inside explaining it’ll be fun and will help him feel better. He express that he didn’t want to feel trapped and didn’t want his face covered at which point I showed him the closure and where his head would be explaining how it would fit.
At that point, he took a deep breath, wiped his tears (and snot) off his face with his shirt, grabbed ahold of my arms that were stretched out in front of him holding the body sock open for him, and he proceeded to step inside. I helped suit him up, asking him how he liked it, while watching him closely to see his expression completely relax and a smile stretch acrossed his face. He stretched out inside it like a flying squirrel, standing tall, with his face pointed towards the sky as a couple of last residual tears stream down his little, now glowing, cheeks.
It was an AMAZING moment to see how instantly this just melted his worries away.
I write this over two months later because I asked his mother whether he uses it at all which she expressed that she wasn’t sure where he had it and hadn’t seen it since his birthday. So, I asked him if he used it at all which he admitted that he has it stashed away in his bedroom (hiding it from the neighbor girl he’s grown up with) and told me he climbs in it at night when he knows he needs help calming down... WOW! Just WOW! AMAZING!
Highly recommended! In fact, I think I want one for myself. Lol!

Warm Tips:

My son is severely autistic, non verbal, and has major sensory issues. He loves this! He has learned that when he is feeling a little out of sorts he can grab this and decompress. So happy with the product. It did have a funky smell when we first got it but as soon as I washed it, the smell was totally gone.
My 7 yr old loves this! It is wonderful material and has plastic snaps in the middle if you want to be completely inside. I was so happy it was snaps and NOT velcro. I strongly suggest this product and we received it very quickly and in perfect condition. High end product that I anticipate will last for many years of use
My son loves this thing. Very elastic material and durable. Returns to its original shape and does not stretch out. We washed this and the color and texture were fine.
I bought this on a whim for my sons 8th birthday. He likes to sleep with a lot of oversized stuffed animals, and I often find him buried underneath them, creating a cocoon for himself, so I thought he might like this. He’s used it for over a week now. As you can see from the attached picture he has it stuffed with his blanket and over sized stuffed monkey. Sometimes he uses it by itself, sometimes he fills it. It seems to be holding up well to the added stress of everything he has in it.
During the day he is a ball of energy, but when he finally tires he loves to be snuggled. This seems to do the trick for him.
We just got this today. He has been in it non-stop. I'll update if it continues to be a big hit.
