Use these in my husband's lunch cooler everyday. Cut sheets in half to fit nicely. Use 2 full sheets (4 pcs of 1/2 sheets). We put one one sheet on each end of his Klien 17qt. Work Cooler. Put 3 water bottles in cooler, place another 1/2 sheet next to water. Put the rest of his lunch in cooler and lay last 1/2 sheet across top before closing cooler. He does not put his lunch cooler in the commercial refrigerator at work because it takes up so much room. Just sets it on top. When he gets home between 10 &14 hours later the sheets are still almost completely frozen. There is usually only one 1/2 sheet that is starting to thaw at all. The one that lies across the top.
They work very, very well. Being able to cut them to fit is huge plus. The fact that they can wrap around something or bend with corners of cooler really helps. They do not condensate or leave anything wet if used per directions. We take the sheets out & let them air dry on Fridays and use 2 different sheets the following week. Alternating weekly. Definately would buy again. The 5th sheet we cut in 3rds for icing injuries old & new. Just wrap in hand towel and apply.
Basically, you get 5 large sheets flat-packed. They have plastic on one side and a semi-permeable mesh on the other. In the middle are pockets with a few little clear beads. You can cut the sheets into any size you want. Then you soak the thing in water, and over the course of about ten minutes the tiny clear beads, like tapioca, will absorb the water and make the squares into squishy gel pillows that are about 3/4 inch thick at their widest point.
Then you freeze them, and presto - you've got flexible ice packs! I have found that there is more immediate flexibility right out of the freezer if you cut the pack into a line of pillows, rather than making a grid out of them. Also, be aware that the ice packs do sweat somewhat, because there is still that semi-permeable mesh on one side. The gel does not leak out, but there is some moisture.
Because these sheets are flat-packed, and they are only activated when you add water, you can make yourself brand new ice packs any time you want!
Bought these to replace other ice sheets that leaked a bit and melted fast. I use ice sheets in my backpack, in an inner slot that is up against my back. The purpose is to keep my back cool when I bicycle/commute. I use them all year except when it's below freezing outside. The old ones I used were always melty and getting warm after a 35 minute commute in hot weather. THESE ice packs are definately an upgrade. I cycled to a mid-day meeting in 90 degree weather, and they sat in my pack for 4 hours in room temp. I figured they would be warmed up and useless for my ride home, but to my surprise, the ice sheet was still cold and kept my back cool all the way home. I ride with them, put them in the freezer all day while I'm at work, and put them back in my pack on the way home. They are still pretty solid and cold when I get home 35-40 minutes against my back in 90+ temps. I've only had these for a couple of months, so cannot attest to longevity of each sheet. I had to re-soak one sheet after a couple of weeks to plump it back up. Will use also for a cooler when needed, to bring cold stuff home from the store when it's hot out. Follow the instructions! Perhaps other reviewers did not do that.
These are great as long as they don't get too soaked with water, then they expand too much and burst open, leaking the contents. DON"T LEAVE THEM SOAKING IN WATER! First, I cut the number of squares that I want to use before wetting them. Then I hold them under the faucet while rubbing each square until it puffs up to a nice full pillow without being too firm. Afterwards, I put them into a zip lock bag and place them in the freezer. It takes about 2 hours to freeze solid in the deep freeze. I wrap them in one layer of t-shirt fabric scaps, tie it around my neck and it works great for 1-2 hours depending on the heat outside. Once done, I just put them back in the zip lock and into the deep freeze. I even keep them wrapped up in the t-shirt fabric inside the freezer so I don't have to re-wrap them LOL ;) Stay cool and have fun!
This is a great product. Little pillows of cold in a convenient, relatively thin, flexible sheet. It has started getting hot in AZ and at night, while having the AC on is not necessary, at times the bed gets too warm. Usually I would wake up; sweaty and uncomfortable. I put a couple of these frozen ice pack sheets a bit off center under the top sheet, and if I get too hot I just roll over near or onto them and they cool me right off. Perfect! By the morning they are thawed/warm, but they do not leak or cause any other mess. They go back into the freezer and are ready by the next night. They can be halved or rolled....lots of versatility.

I have used them repeatedly in a large soft side cooler and they don't sweat, have never leaked. Even in 105 degree temps in the trunk of my car (in a cooler) for 8 hours....both ice pack sheets and groceries stay cold. I always keep a couple in my freezer so they are good to go when I have a long day of shopping planned. When I unpack groceries, I just pop them back in the freezer.
Needed something I could put in a backpack with a cooler. We were going to Disney and had some special dietary needs so it would be easier if I could take some of these items with us. We had the backpack in our checked luggage, and when the luggage was delivered to our room by Disney Express, the items were cold and the ice packs were still frozen. They stayed frozen for 7+ hours in the insulated bag. (2 hours prior to our flight, 2 hour flight, 3 hours Magical Express delivery time). I was beyond happy! Lightweight. Easy to use. Have used numerous times since that trip.
I was not sure what to expect with these but for the low price and the size I really wanted to try. I have alot of joint issues/inflammation, and we were moving so my back was sore constantly and those little ice packs just dont cover much ground.
When I got these they looked strange and I assumed I was going to be disappointed. It comes and they look like you would use them once and probably toss it, but is not the case. You got it wet and let the cells expand then freeze and so far I have been refreezing the same one several times with no problems. It covers huge area of my back, i love it, I would definitely recommend these to someone who has same issues as myself. You can't beat the price. Your standard icepack is much smaller at Walgreens and cost much more.
Excellent for travel. I have a Polar bag which is acceptable on airlines. I take my insulin in the bag. When the old ice bubbles gave out I bought these. They held for about 18 hours. Will hold on an overseas flight. Easy to cut to size. I got more than I needed for one bag so these will be enough for quite a large back or med. size cooler. I keep mine in the freezer between use to make them last longer. I would buy these again.
Bought this as I needed to travel to Colombia and had medication that needed to be kept cold.
Follow the instructions and wipe thoroughly after hydrating, and should have no issues with gummy/sticky residue.
Worked great, kept it cold on a 10 hour trip both ways. I was impressed that even though my room didn't have a freezer I got it as cold as possible in the fridge with some ice and it got cold enough to keep the medication cool enough to not worry about throwing out.
