Personally, I had thought the other surgical quality professional tweezers I have been comparing to the new tweezers were the best, until I lost them and bought new. I thought the small cuts to my skin was normal, Ignorantly, I thought some hairs were more strongly embedded or something like that to draw blood at various times. These are extremely sharp. Perfect for splinters and debris in cuts. They are so sharp you can easily cut skin to get junk out when necessary.

I've developed trichiasis (ingrown eyelashes that poke my eyeballs-yeah lots of fun) which I can manage if I pluck the stray lash. This is due to a bad eye job (blepharoplasty for vanity reasons-more on that later). These tweezers are so perfect for this job. I used my regular ones prior to receiving these, but ended up plucking out several at a time and don't want to look like a lizard. With these tweezers I can pluck only one at a time.
Please please please don't mess with your eyes. If you must, have the surgery done by a Board Certified Opthomalogist and not a Board Certified plastic surgeon who does everything. I figured that an Opthomalogist deals with eyeballs, and I was concerned about sagging puffy fat skin. Boy was I wrong. It's been three months of h e double toothpicks.
These are the best splinter tweezers I've ever used. They are very well made, very precise in alignment and tip contact. I bought these because I had a metal splinter in my thumb, and it was removed within minutes of opening the shipping box. I don't know how these will work for hair removal, but they're fine enough to grab a single hair easily. The pouch is a bit undersized, and you have to do some creative angling to get the tweezers to fit without poking through the fabric. The tips are sharp and smooth, perfect for digging around for splinters. Should be easy enough to clean/sterilize, the tips aren't chromed, but look like stainless.

Finally, tweezers that work! I have wasted so much time, money and damaged my skin trying to tweeze unwanted facial hairs with other drugstore-purchased tweezers. I'm talking black (and gray) coarse, random chin hairs - the stubborn kind that are definitely noticeable, embarrassing and that are difficult to pluck at times (not the peach fuzz). These tweezers work like a charm; you'll need a magnifying mirror for the fastest and best results. So far, no skin damaged and the stubborn hairs are usually gone by the third try.
I am a man who suffers from a beard that grows in all directions causing me to have ingrown hairs. either the ones you received are defective of you dont know how to use tweezers. it doesnt take the force from the jaws of life to pull out a hair.

The thin tip easily allows for hair removal (eyebrows/nose hair) or taking-out splinters with far more precision than a normal thick tweezers.
