This reviews for activated charcoal carbon.
I paid full price for this product and did not receive a discount.
I have watched way too many YouTube videos and seen too much Pinterest.
I wanted to find out if this really works for teeth whitening.
First things first, probably one of the reasons there are not many photos of this is because it is a huge bag. When you open it, a cloud of smoke will appear. Huge clouds…
Be prepared to make a huge mess, LOL.
I've taken a photo to show you part of my mess.
Since it is such a huge bag and I've seen reviews that said the bag sometimes doesn't close I decided to divide it up.
I divided it up as pictured.
I then decided to try it to whiten my teeth.
It is not taste bad like I thought it would. I really didn't notice it taste. To me, it works as well as baking soda would. I do notice it might he are whiter and feel cleaner. I do not feel residue on them.
I also use activated carbon charcoal in packets at the bottom of the trashcan's to keep it smelling better. It also works for places where there is kitty litter. It really does help with odors. It will certainly keep the odor down, however, like balikg soda, it will also soak up the order so you will need to change out the packets from time to time.
Overall, I think I got a really good price for such a huge bag. I'm very pleased with the product.
Maybe I'm a lost cause on the "whiter teeth" thing, but my intial "yellow-tinged" teeth have become much brighter and definitely cleaner. I'm used this product for my teeth around 4 times in the past couple weeks and it's been doing its thing. I'm honestly too afraid to use this product every day because some folks have said they had teeth and gum sensitivity by day 4 or 5, in addition to dentists informing people to stop this trend as no research has been done for long-term use (such as abbrassiveness, etc). This product is definitely wayyy more than you need! But this is by far the best price for a "bulk" size. The packaging is as shown in the photo. However, the bag is a terrible container. When the bag was closed in factory, the ziplock zip was not closed before sealing, so when you first open the bag, a black cloud of fine charcoal dust erupts, as they escape they hiding place in the ziplock zip and the pocket between the zip and seal (if that makes sense). Additionally, the ziplock doesn't even work. Everyone says to transfer the product in glass jars, but for now, I just folded the top and paperclipped the container closed. The product is great with taking off buildup plaque collected throughout the day. When I do use this product, I use it before I use my regular toothpaste. That is when you can witness the most difference.
Bought this so I could make a recipe called "Black Magic," and wow, it took a long time to make this recipe, and I ended up making cupcake-size balls of the stuff in mini cupcake paper holders and freezing most of 'em so I could use one at a time. Hey I won't mention the "end result" except to say, "yep, black!" Here's the old recipe:
BLACK MAGIC
3 oz senna leaves
1 oz elm bark powdered
8 to 10 oz olive oil
3 oz charcoal powdered
1 oz glycerine
1-1/2 pounds black figs
1 lb. Raisins
1 lb. Apricots
Chop fine in food chopper and mix well. Ground again if necessary. Roll out and let dry a few minutes. Make into rolls and wrap in wax paper. Put in glass jars to store.
Who knew there were so many uses for charcoal? This stuff is amazing and such a steal buying this way. Don't fall for the overpriced toothpaste whitener. It's the same thing but 3x the price! I also add this to masks and even drink it to help clear toxins.
One note: with any charcoal you buy, be very careful about opening the bag and transferring the powder. It's charcoal after all and really easy to make a mess without trying. I'd also suggest putting it in containers you are willing to turn black. I found that the charcoal is able to stay adhered to the inside of my glasses even after rinsing and running through the dishwasher.
So important to always keep Activated Charcoal on hand for emergency usage!!! - I bought it to keep on hand in case of accidental poisonings. But, I actually ended up needing this to make poultices for a bad abscess that developed this last winter, while we were snowed in. It worked it's charcoal "magic", mixed with a bit of water and some psyllium seed husks, to make a warm gel for the poultices. With careful cleaning of the wound and changing of the poultices, the abscess healed very nicely, thank goodness! I never did go to a doctor as we could not get out because of so much snow for so many months! I don't know what I would have done without this Charcoal! I have since bought more to restock! It is a very fine powder and quite messy to use. I found it is much easier and less messy to put it in a sanitized glass jar to access it. Otherwise, every time you open the original ziplock bag, it puffs out and clogs up the zip closure on the bag.

So I got the product for chronic digestive issues and I take it with betonite clay. It is amazing and very effective at moving sludge out of the body. My whole family now takes it. I would highly recommend for seasonal cleansing or for chronic issues. Always do your own research for your particular issues but it is definitely a staple for my family health.
I heard the 2lb bag was unwieldy, so I decided to try a 1lb bag first, to test the product. As long as you make sure to push down on any sediment that's crept up to the top seam before opening, you'll not have a major mess on your hands. I'm pleased with how it's working for whitening my teeth, and it works as a great deodorizer for the cat litter box. I'm very satisfied with the product, and I'll likely get the 2lb bag next time.
Started using this as toothpaste for the whole family (great protest with the 3yr old) especially for the whitening aspect, and was more impressed than I thought I'd be! Not only did it start scrubbing away old stains RIGHT away, my mouth felt cleaner than it EVER has before (even using baking soda and salt mixtures- yuck!) without a nasty taste. It is gritty, but there is no flavor at all so you don't gag. ALSO this is food grade, meaning that it can be used for the same applications as a hospital uses it for. Activated charcoal isolates infectious bacteria and critters that don't belong in your system, then it coats it and gets rid of it. So from gingivitis in your gums to a parasite in your gut, it will help expel it from your body. I took this mixed with water when I had food poisoning last week and my stomach stopped hurting almost instantly, and not more vomiting. ONLY DOWNFALL- it's super messy! For internal use, you can buy capsules if you don't want to take a shot of it in water, but I wet my toothbrush and just dip it into the bag to try to contain the black powder as much as possible.
I'm not sure that I need a pound of this activated charcoal, but it's what I have now.
I put the bag of activated charcoal inside a gallon zip bag, and only unzipped the charcol an inch or two, and didn't have an issue with dust going everywhere.
So far, I've used it to brush my teeth once (and will many more times). I'm not sure about whitening (yet), but it DID get my teeth cleaner than just toothpaste.
I'll probably mix it with some baking soda and put it in my refrigerator -- the combination should eliminate all odors, if any.
I'm not sure about mixing it with toothpaste, or with face creams, but this may be on a distant agenda.
I may update this when I figure out novel uses for it.
Dear potential buyer,
If you’re reading this, you’re probably considering purchasing this activated charcoal. You’re making a wise decision reading these reviews as there is much wisdom in them.
First, don’t ignore the warnings about the black cloud that emerges when you initially open the bag. I would recommend opening it in your shower because it WILL be messy. Very messy.
Second, this powder is black. That may seem obvious, but this is no normal black. Imagine a light-absorbing black hole was ground to the finest powder imaginable. That is this activated charcoal. I was pouring it into a container, and I couldn’t tell how full it was because this powder reflects very little light.
Third, it does not come off surfaces easily. This includes the human body. However, rubbing alcohol does a great job of removing it.
If you’re getting this to whiten your teeth, you should probably consult a dentist first. If you’re getting it for detox purposes, pills would be way easier to work with. If you’re getting it to freshen a room, buy an air freshener. They’re designed to do that. And you don’t have to worry about them staining entire rooms of your house black.
