übertherm Knee Pain Relief Cold Wrap. Heal Faster, Feel

übertherm Knee Pain Relief Cold Wrap. Heal Faster, Feel Better.

übertherm Knee Pain Relief Cold Wrap. Heal Faster, Feel Better.

I recently had a full knee replacement surgery and my knee will require frequent icing for several months. That in mind I decided to try this product although it was more expensive than other similar products.
The Good: The product is of quality construction and looks like it would hold up very well for extended use.
The Okay: The ice packs are not really any better than the ones given to me at the hospital. They aren't as large and aren't as flexible as the standard gel packs I was using. The quality construction of the wrap is far superior to any ice wraps I have previously used.

UPDATE: After my initial review of this product the owner of the company reached out to me in an attempt to resolve any issues I had with the product, including the option to custom design a wrap to remedy my particular circumstances. This level of customer service is simply amazing. I can highly recommend this company secure in the knowledge that if for some reason the product is not to your liking, the manufacturer will make sure that you are taken care of.

I fractured my left lateral tibial plateau last week and opted to buy this wrap, even though less expensive but similar items were available, for two reasons: free next-day delivery for Prime account holders and great reviews. Free next-day delivery was a requirement for me, but even then I had several choices, and the reviews tipped the scale in favor of this one. I'm entirely pleased with my choice - it arrived on time, is comfortable and made of quality materials, stays in place, provides excellent compression, and leaves my knee well-iced, yet not uncomfortably cold - no wetness, no stinging or freezing sensation; I barely notice that I'm wearing it. I haven't felt the need to buy a back-up ice pack - one has been sufficient for my needs. I wish I didn't need to keep my knee iced, but I'm grateful I found this wrap.

I have arthritis in both knees (bone on bone in one, and pretty close in the other) so I was looking for a compression wrap that would address the stabbing/shooting pain I get in the medial part of my knees. as well as the stiffness. I've used compression wraps before, but the were often a little uncomfortable to wear and hard to fit just right. This one seemed to take the idea to the next level. I particularly liked the idea of putting the ice pack into the freezer and storing the wrap elsewhere - I have so many ice wraps in my freezer that the rest of the contents are getting jealous. I am so pleased with this product that I couldn't wait to write a review for it. Cold and compression does seem to work best for many injuries, and I've experienced a lot of the stinging pain other reviewers have. There is none of that with the Ubertherm. Use it next to the skin (the fabric in the wrap will protect you) and when you remove it, you'll be surprised at how cold the area is. This is a high-quality wrap and I was pleased with everything from this seller - from the packaging to the shipping time to the product itself and to the follow-up. I've already told them that if they come out with a wrap for plantar fasciitis, I'll be their first customer. Don't hesitate. If you want a sturdy, comfortable, effective wrap to help relieve your knee pain, order this.

I've had many knee surgeries over the years and have used an endless amount of ice packs/cold wraps over this time. Let me assure you, this the best one I have ever used. The gel pack inserts are terrific and perfectly get everything cold as is should. The fact that you do not need an extra layer (like a t-shirt), or that the wrap itself is not too thick to allow the cold through, is perfect. After 20 - 25 minutes, you knee is exactly the cold temp it should be. It is the best fit for a knee I have ever seen and holds super tight. Andy you can even walk around in it.

Finally, someone has figured it out. Thank you ubertherm.

A great system to ice knees without actual ice. I use actual ice also when I’m at my club on the ride home. But what about when you finish at your house and you want a quick system. This is it. Yes, I read the complaints that it is not cold enough. This is not true. I’ve used some many systems (still miss Moji) and this is one of the best and in fact, equal to Moji. I also see the complaint that the ice gel doesn’t bend enough. Again, I disagree. I like these very much and strongly recommend it.

  • HOW IT WORKS. Research shows that cooling without freezing is the trick to your body healing faster. Overdoing it can lead to cellular injury, nerve damage, and brittle injury-prone muscles and tendons. New patent pending layered conduction pocket provides gradual, safe, precision cooling just above that painful freezing point.
  • WHO IS IT FOR. Soothing Relief from: knee replacement and orthopedic surgery pain, tendinitis, overuse injuries, and ACL/Meniscus suffering. Ideal for reducing chronic inflammation. Superb after-sports icing for athletes and following physical therapy.

Description

ÜBERTHERM KNEE COLD COMPRESSION WRAP übertherm is the world's first thermally regulated cold therapy, delivering gradual, deeply penetrating cold that reaches the joints, muscles, and tendons without harmful freezing or the sting and burn of conventional ice packs. The übertherm Ice Pillow - the heart of all übertherm products - makes it possible. This unique layered pocket - a combination of carefully chosen insulating and conducting materials - holds the cooling pack comfortably against the skin and regulates the thermal transfer. The Ice Pillow's thermally calibrated healing technology slows the thermal transfer by roughly 80%, allowing the cold to penetrate gradually (and deeply) for a more comfortable experience. The cooling pack itself is a durable multi-chamber cold pack filled with a proprietary high-performance gel that retains cold for up to an hour, but stays semi-flexible even when frozen. When used in an übertherm Ice Pillow the cold doesn't drop below 34˚ F (1˚ C), providing therapeutic cold without the risk of ice-crystal induced cell injury. Cools evenly and gradually; promotes healing, relieves chronic pain, and eases inflammation. The wrap's high-grade neoprene material provides plenty of support as well as comfort against the skin. The übertherm Knee Cold Wrap is excellent for knee replacement pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, runner's knee, ACL and meniscus injury, tendinitis, bursitis, and chronic inflammation. It's also perfect for post-exercise icing and post-op swelling.

Love this compression ice pack. I had complete knee replacement 3 months ago. Learned to love my ice packs as a way to help with the pain during recovery. After getting the ubertherm knee pain relief cold wrap I found it much better than a simple ice pack. The compression and ice pack helped to control the swelling after regular bending therapy (required if you want your new knee to function properly). It is a very painful process which doesn't get better until about 2 months after surgery. I still use it. The compression pack will help you get through the tough time. In the end all the work is worth it and you will have a good result. Stick with it and help yourself with something like this product.

I was looking for a wrap that holds ice packs to ice my knee, post-knee replacement surgery, while at work. Have you tried to hold an ice pack on your knee while typing? It's a bit of a challenge. This works perfectly for this purpose. It hold the ice in place, stays cold for the 15-20 minutes I need it to, and fits snugly. It even works through the khaki type pants I wear to work most days. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the middle strap isn't long enough to fit all legs. I had to spend about $4.00 more to purchase an extender for the middle strap. Otherwise it's really great. I ended up ordering four ice packs so I can keep rotating them all day long.

I bike, ski and play soccer, and am always looking for products to get an edge or just simply get out the door. I know the benefits of icing but it's just too much hassle - the ice packs I have used are too time consuming to get right. So I was happy to find this knee brace.

First of all, it's very simple to get right - somehow it magically keeps the gel at the most effective temperature. Just wrap it around and relax. It's very flexible and comfortable to keep on, and using it on my knee it lasts over 25 minutes.

A sports buddy of mine has access to an icing system from an orthopedist that costs thousand of dollars - my guess is my friend pays more for a single visit then the cost of this product . I now have the same benefits for fraction of the cost and in the comfort of my home.

I don’t write a lot of product reviews but I have to say that the ubertherm cold knee wrap is outstanding. My knees swell up with any real activity. Regular ice packs are OK, but the combination of cold and compression form the ubertherm is incredible. My swelling went down in 20 minutes. This thing works so much better than regular ice packs or cold wraps. And the materials are top notch. It work like a $5000 Game Ready at a fraction of the expense. I love it!!

Great product. Instructions shared from my medical team/friends: ice for no more than 20 minutes at a time. Put this on and elevate for 20 minutes. Do not walk around while you are icing as you're not getting the benefit. Also be sure not bind at the knee (as shown in the picture). No compression or restriction at/behind knee - 2 finger-widths below your knee or you will negatively impact your circulation. Do that kind of thing often enough you'll blow valves and need surgery. Of course your mileage may vary but recovery from venous surgery is not the walk in the park medical professionals make it out to be...unless you like wearing continuous compression from foot to gluteal fold and physical restrictions for two weeks. Your call.
