My fiancee had a rotator cuff repair 4 days ago. We had several of the blue ice packs from when friends and family had orthopedic surgeries but I decided to order this one, to make sure we would have an extra. This is the best one we have! The others were ordered from a medical supply company or given from the hospital and they do not even begin to compare to the quality and efficiency of this one. This one is light, not heavy or cumbersome and it stays cold the longest. Also, once it is in the freezer it gets cold the quickest. Believe me, I have been on ice pack duty round the clock for 4 days and I am buying more of these right now because I can change them less often and they are even more comfortable (softer, lighter and not even close to stiff) and feel colder for my fiancee. Don't waste your money on the other ones! just as a side note I debated buying the contraptions that hold ice on the shoulder while you are moving around but he is in an immobilizer and he would not be able to wear any of the contraptions here - i am sure they have some great uses but not in this phase of healing after surgery.
Love love love! I recently had hip arthroscopy and I constantly use ice packs. I bought 3 different kinds and this one is by far my favorite. It’s not so heavy that it doesn’t hurt my ultra sensitive nerves.
When I first opened the package I was concerned that it would easily puncture. But 1.5 weeks of constant use and refreezing it’s help up just fine.
If the sellers to this product read these, please add some key words so it comes up in searches. It doesn’t come up under “ice pack”. It doesn’t show up when searching “cold pack” either. I only found this because it was recommended in aFacebook group and they shared a link.
This is the third cold pack I have ordered. First got the oversized to ice the trochanteric bursitis in my hip. It did an excellent job but was difficult for me to carry from the freezer upstairs to my bedroom since I use a cane and the pad is so heavy.
I ordered the cervical pack next and it too gets the job done fantastically but was just a tad too small to reach my back and hip at the same time effectively.
Finally ordered the standard pack and it works perfectly. It's much lighter in weight than the oversized but covers the hip and lower back perfectly.
I use all the packs and have no regret in buying all three. They hold cold for hours, which is well in excess of tbe 20 minutes needed for me. I am very pleased with the cold packs and would recommend them to anyone.
These flexible gel packs are great. Easy to use and to refreeze. That said, I got rid of this one. Traded it in for a different shape that we have in the clinic that is much easier to keep in place without wrap. That shape is kind of a half circle with arms. Excellent for shoulders, but works great on other joints/parts too. It's a little smaller, but still ices any area we need (shoulder, knee, back). If you can find that one, I'd suggest it over this larger, square version.
This is a great Cold Pack - It holds its clod for a long time! Even after 15-20 minutes mine still has frost on its surface. The only "con" I can think of is: It's a bit heavy. My wife just had rotator cuff surgery and was instructed to apply ice for 20 min each hour. I bought the larger one a few days before her surgery and it was delivered on-time. However it is fairly heavy and she just couldn't use it - so I bought the smaller one. For the first 10 days after surgery, it also was too heavy for her.
She now uses both of them. And even with a sweatshirt between her skin and the pack, its "cold" penetrates to her shoulder very well.
I'm guessing it's the material inside that causes it to be heavy - probably a trade-off for keeping its cold for a long time.

Description
Torex Mojility Cold Pack - Black offer the same premium medical grade materials that stay ultra soft when chilled allowing torex to comfortable mold to the body in a convenient flat style. This is great for the hard to treat very sensitive post surgery groin, breast, face, shoulders, neck and head areas. Our flat packs are an excellent alternative to the ice bags that are commonly given after surgery. Together, these features reduce treatment time, provide faster pain relief, keep swelling to a minimum, and greatly increase overall effectiveness.
Bought our first pack last year when my husband broke his wrist - his sister (ER nurse) suggested it since it stays cold for a long time and he'd be able to feel the cooling effect through the cast. It has worked so well & is now our go-to ice pack (not only for injuries, but we've even used it for unconventional things such as quickly cooling a wine bottle or placing our mixing bowl on top of it to help speed up the whipping of cream! Have recommended it to many others & just bought a second one this summer to give as a gift to my parents.
I HAD A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT ON JUNE 16TH, ONE OF MY FRIENDS ALSO HAD A DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT AND SHE WAS TELLING ME HER THERAPIST USED THE LARGE ONE AFTER THERAPY, AND SHE SAID THEY WERE AWESOME. WELL SHE WAS RIGHT, I FIRST ORDERED THE LARGE ONE AS SUGGESTED BY MY FRIEND AND THEN A FEW WEEKS AGO ORDERED THE SMALL ONE. I SAVE MONEY ON BUYING ICE EVERY OTHER DAY USING THE POLAR ICE MACHINE AS USED IN THE HOSPITAL. THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT, OH AND THEY R GREAT TO TAKE ALONG ON A ROAD TRIP.
I think this is the same product used by the physical therapist I see while rehabbing from shoulder surgery. I can't speak to the long-term durability, but it holds cold well, and the weight is really nice. Unlike the previous packs I was using, this one has sufficient mass that I don't have to hold it down to feel the chill. I bought the 10 X 13 and am now thinking of adding the larger size.
So far so good. The pack freezes soft as described. The latex material is black and seems fairly thick as described as well. I've used the pack on my neck and while laying on it for my lower back and have had no issues. I do cover it with a thin towel first, however, which is actually common suggested practice for these things due to condensation issues and the fact that you can actually give yourself frostbite from prolonged exposure to bare skin.....
I see no cons with this product, it works great and was priced well.
Nice super cold ice pack. I love it because I can wrap it around my knee or wrist or ankle... goes smooth on.
I am size petit and it doesn't go all the way around my knee, therefore if you want it to wrap all the way around you would have to buy the largest size.
Works great in the pillow case. Gets too cold straight to the skin.
