My 3-year-old son is in the phase where every hypochondriac owie needs an ice pack and a band-aid. This little product is great for those, but it doesn't get terribly cold (that is, actual ice cubes in a wash cloth will always be colder) and it's not terribly big - it really is for tiny hands and tiny owies. But because it doesn't get too cold, it won't ever hurt his skin like a bag of frozen peas might. This would not be for twisted ankles or any injury of that caliber. The pearls inside are kind of addicting to squish around, and although I worry my son will "pop" one on one of these days, he hasn't managed to yet and we've been using this for several months now. I will purchase several more to stock up for summer.
4 year old loves these. I Keep them in the freezer low so when she hurts herself she can run in and self ice. May not be the best lesson —should she decide to self diagnose a fever, climb up and get the Tylenol—but for generic scooter crashes, slips on dog pee and injuries sustained fleeing the scene of a crime, they are fabulous.
My kids like the pads, but they don't stay cool very long. That is the main reason I didn't get it 5 stars. Highly recommend it for kids.

Cute, great price for $3 add on item. Needed a cold pack for my clumsy toddler. Cool that it has heat setting too, and good brand not a cheap China product.
