Safety 1st 1st Grooming Kit, Arctic

Safety 1st 1st Grooming Kit, Arctic Blue

Safety 1st 1st Grooming Kit, Arctic Blue

Honestly, I was confused when I got this because I was looking for a kit with baby aspirator too and thought this had one. Blonde moment. I almost returned it but decided I'd probably need or could use most of it once the baby came. Lo and behold, the hospital gave me two aspirators, the baby had long nails and lots of hair. I can't speak to the durability of these items since they've only been in use for a week, but if I notice any defects I'll update. For now, 5 stars for providing just over the bare necessities (with a cute case to keep it all together!) for the price of less than what I'd easily throw Chick-fil-A for a bomb dinner for two.

PROS:
-Emery boards for newborn's delicate nails
-Nail clippers are easy to hold but you really shouldn't use ANY nail clippers on a newborn
-Bristle brush is soft and has a gripped handle for no slip grooming after bath

CONS:
-The nail clippers in the picture totally deceived my blonde self into thinking there's an aspirator in the kit even though it's obviously not advertised as having one. SPOILER: there is no aspirator. SECOND SPOILER: you'll get one from the hospital.

Just what you need starting out with a baby. I don’t use the hard bristle brush because my son doesn’t have long hair. My friends daughter uses it to brush her doll hair and it seem to work pretty well. The nail clippers are a little hard to hold on to the first time you use them. They are very gentle on my sons finger nails. The emery boards help make sure that his nails are smooth and prevent scratches. Jackson has cradle cap so I fill the little spray bottle with baby oil and spray it on his head then use the soft bristle brush to spread it out. If your worried about not having a nose sucker keep in mind that you will get quite a few while you are at the hospital giving birth.

This has everything I need for my baby, I wanted practical items that I am going to use, its overwhelming how much stuff comes in some of the baby grooming kits out there, I didn't want to get confused so I got what I know I will get good use of.

Every newborn needs a starter kit of some kind! This is a great one!

I don't use everything in this kit... really the only things I use are the clippers and hair brush because my baby has a ton of hair. I think i could buy these products individually.
