This urinal is a lifesaver for me. My husband had a stroke last year and cannot get up by himself at night to use the restroom. Since we got this for him to use, I can finally get some sleep! 😀
Update- This is the 3rd or 4th one I have bought because after about 6-8 months, the cording or bag gets a hole. I think it would be nice to add some kind of reinforcement to the cord where it meets bag and handle. Also, maybe use a thicker plastic for bag?
It seems like some form of linguistic twist to use the adjective 'Beautiful' while discussing a urinal, but that's what fits. Previous reviews describing advantages and benefits do an excellent job of explaining things so I'll not waste your time reading a re-write of them, except to say they should be reviewed.
This item comes with two different style bottles, one has a closing cap, the other does not, so be careful to choose which one you order. If you're coming from using a bottle as I was, you will probably be more comfortable with the version that has a lid.
Wish I would have come across this over a year ago when prostate problems became serious enough to interfere with sleep. Forced trips to bathroom hourly can get real hard on sleep pattern. Started using a snap cap bottle after being hospitalized briefly for other reasons not including an extreme back sprain that required morphine for relief, near total immobility, not jumping out of bed to go anywhere.
If your using a bottle now, I think you will really appreciate this.

My father in-law became unsteady on his feet after an injury. He frequently has to use the bathroom during the night but needs someone to assist so he doesn't fall. This urinal allows him to take care of his urination needs during the night without standing. He can now be more independent during the night and his family can sleep better too.
Pro: Saves my husband from having to get up several times each night. Con: the clip that shuts off the flow of urine from the bag is plastic and hard to operate with one hand. I can also see it wearing out quickly.
Bought this in advance of a knee replacement surgery.
Easy to use, easy to clean. For me it was good for an entire 24 hour day at a time. No leaks, no spills, no sharp edges. Would honestly buy this again if/when I need to do so.
My wife was also pleased (she was the one stuck doing the cleaning as I was the patient), and told me it wasn't a hassle to empty or clean.
FYI - the 'bag' is a standard bag, for easy replacement when desired. The hose was/is plenty long enough to hang this from the headboard and use while either lying down, or sitting at the side of the bed.

Great product. We use it for my father with Parkinson's and its been great for him. He was struggling to get up and use the toilet multiple times a night. Sometimes because of the difficulty getting up, he couldn't make it in time. This has given him great peace of mind and it's easy to use and handle even with tremors. We used an eye hook to hang it on the wall and the bag sits on the floor on either a towel or large bowl as there is always the possibility of leaks. The company has been great with customer service and even sent a replacement urinal after 4 months when ours had a leak. The issue is that the bags themselves don't last forever.
I wish I had thought to look for something like this sooner before my husband got so ill. It would have been very helpful for the times in the middle of the night when he had trouble getting to the bathroom fast enough. Later when he was in a hospital bed in hospice care at home it was extremely useful and so much better than the hospital version. I recommended it to my step mother to help with my dad since he's had trouble following bladder cancer treatment.
This has been the best addition to my household. There is no more getting up at night to empty uinal. The bag is large enough to accommodate the whole night. This is actually the second one I have purchased. The first one is still functional after almost 2 years but it was discoloring. The only problem that transpired is the handle broke off. It didn't effect the usage. So, I rate it high for the bag size and easy empty system.
My husband has Parkinson's and it is extremely difficult to get him up and to the toilet (in time) and standing over him waiting for the flow to start was driving me crazy. I searched endlessly for a solution...when I discovered this urinal. It sits comfortably between his legs and does not spill. The bag has sufficient capacity that I don't have to mess with it during the night. It truly has been a huge "relief" for me and my husband.....I love this urinal!! I highly recommend this to everyone with the need..it is easy to clean and I have had my first one for 6 months and have ordered another one.
very helpful for elderly who is immobile. I wish I've known about this product sooner.
