I had been drinking a liter or more of coconut water a day as I struggling with my electrolyte balance - which get's expensive fairly quickly. I found it's the extra potassium to go with the electrolytes that have helped me physically. so by taking 600mg of potassium (how much is in a cup of coconut water) along with a Nuun tablet has the same effect for me for a lot less money.
the tablets are effervescent - so it can take a bit for them to dissolve in water. the variety of flavors is nice. having then in a tablet means I can take it with me, and just drop one in my water bottle when I need it - instead of multiple bottles of something else.
I recently reduced my carb intake and started getting leg cramps at night. I did a Google search and found out this could be dehydration. I was drinking plenty of water, but thought I might be low on electrolytes. I bought these and have been using 1 tablet a day ever since and no cramps.
Other reviews have complained about not dissolving or taking too long to dissolve. I have not had either problem. I break the tablet in half (as I read in another review) and place in water. It is usually completely dissolved in 5 minutes - I can wait that long. This is much better than the powders I tried that wouldn't completely dissolve and left a grainy texture in my drink.
I get the Lemon Lime and the taste is great. I actually start to crave this if I haven't had one by late in the day.
I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and bought these because of the reviews from other sites. It's imperative for us Potsies to get enough sodium into our bodies. I drank one as soon as we got the box and I can say yes the taste is weird and took me by surprise but at the same time when your desperate you'll make anything go down. I have felt slightly more alert the rest of the day and am excited to see how this effects my symptoms long term
These seem pretty good. They are similar price per tablet at the GU tabs. I see a lot of negative feedback on the taste of the revised formula. Since I never tried the old formula I have no basis of comparison, but I'd say these have a very mild taste that is what I want in a drink. I want something that doesn't taste sweet, just tastes like water with a very mild flavor. Kind of like if you watered down your favorite sports drink. I would like to see the price of such tablets decreased. Just fyi, it is much cheaper to just add salt or baking soda to some water or lemon water for electrolyte replacement. You can do that for a penny or you can buy these tabs for 48 pennies each.
This is not a new product for me, as I have been buying it at REI for several years. All of a sudden their choices were only those of the "Energy" variety or "Immune System Support" type. I was lucky to find this on Amazon, ordered it, and completely happy to have a great supply on hand. This product is the one that works for my husband who has issues with volume depletion and fluid shifts and keeps him out of the Emergency Room.

I really like Nuun. It's easy to carry with me on the bike because the tablets are in small plastic tubes. So, super convenient. Nuun provides me with the electrolytes I need without all of the sugar found in other brands. The high concentration of sugar in other brands would upset my stomach and sometimes have me running to the nearest porta potty. Nuun has never upset my stomach. The taste is good too. Nuun gets the hydration job done.

Having a family member with low potassium issues this has been a literal lifesaver while tasting quite good.
It's not only kept this family member from being hospitalized or worse, but it's given them a level of control with their health.
As a side note, when the doctor's who treat this family member were told that this item is used they said it's the best electrolyte replacement out there, in fact it's the one they personally used for biking and running.
I'm not sure why people are complaining about the new formula, we've really liked it, but to each their own.
I have written a review for a motorcycle forum in which I mentioned these.. Used these on a 4200 motorcycle ride in desert climate. I definitely like these for flavor and replenishing electrolytes. One thing I did learn was not to fill my water bottle to the top and then add a tablet as it caused the drink to "shoot out" of the "sipper" (like a carbonated drink that was shaken) but feel that was a "user error" on my part. I highly recommend these.
Initially I bought these at a local store because I needed a very portable electrolyte supplement for a 65 mile bike ride in the middle of July. Since then I bought the 4 pack of juice box flavors for during and after labor. My husband and I have had them when we're sick, it's been hot out, or just as an alternative to water. These end up being cheaper than Gatorade and don't contain any of the crap chemicals in Gatorade. My favorite part is that they contain less than 10% of the sugar that Gatorade contains! I have no problem having one of these throughout the day rather than a plain water because there is so little sugar. We love all of the flavors that we've purchased so far.
Nuun electrolytes are good for the electrolyte without the sugar. They are kind of like flavored water with a touch of fizz. There are several flavors, I have liked them all. If you are going to use them running, be sure to let it sit for a while to de-fizz or you might have a little surprise when you pop the lid open. If you drop them in a standard 16.9 oz water bottle, drink a little before putting it in. It breaks in half easy to drop it in. Don't screw on the lid right away or again you might have a little extra pressure. :-)
