When my kids were infants I could not find a sound machine that stayed on longer than 15-20 minutes and I don't know about you but my kids didn't fall asleep that fast when soothing themselves to sleep. So that ment going back in to reset the timer, oh and now baby is wide awake again because their baby spidey senses can sense you're near! I finally found this sound machine (the older version of this one) with a timer that went all the way up to 90 minutes!!! Both my kids each had one of these in their room and both used from infant to the age of 2, so we definitely got our money's worth! So for the past 10 years anytime someone is having a baby this is the first thing I stick in their gift bag and I've gotten many thanks from the mamas that have received them. This is a new model and looks a little different than the old one, this is the first time I've purchased the new model for someone but if it works as good or better as the older model I will continue to buy for new parents!
As other reviewers noted, the previous version of this is much better. We had the old version for 3 years and wanted another for our newest daughter.
Pros:
-you can leave the sound on for a limited or unlimited amount of time. A lot of the other sound machines I looked at would automatically turn off after a few hours. There is white noise with rain or ocean or lullabies
-works with a wall adapter, not batteries
Cons:
-you have to manually turn the projector inside to switch pictures instead of inserting a new film/cd with the old version
-the projector is not able to be tilted like the old version. You have to have it placed exactly where you want it to project because it only projects straight up
-their isn't as good of volume control as the old version and the buttons to switch the volume are kind of loud when you push them
I still like this sound machine but would have given it 5 stars if they wouldn't have switched some of the design
We love this sound machine! We have one for each of our children and I love that it has different sounds. When I have my baby monitor on “scan” I know which room I’m listening to by the sound. We take it everywhere we go and it makes a HUGE difference in the way my children sleep. If they wake up in the middle of the night they hear a familiar sound and go back to sleep. My issues with the machine are that I wish it had a simple on/off switch and I wish the top of the projector did not come for. My little man messes with it all the time!
My son insists on having a white noise machine that plays "twinkle twinkle" so this plays every night all night long. The sound quality could be a bit better and less harsh but if he likes it and sleeps through the night I am happy.
He likes that he can change the projection to three different themes and the buttons are easy enough to use that as a 4 year old he knows how to turn it on and off.
This is the second version of this product that we have owned, and I miss the last one. The pictures in this version are static, where the last mobile showed a rotating scene. With that said, the quality is good, as we play this every night and have only replaced after two years. Good variety of music, timer feature is Handy and the scenes are sweet- animals, stars, etc. My daughter loves hers

We use the waves and nothing else. It stags on 24/7. The projector was difficult to use bc to put it where they can see it, you'd need to put it IN the crib! So we just use the sounds.
I bought this for white noise in the nursery and it works great, it has a timer but I didnt use it after the first time because my daughter woke up as soon as the sound switched off. I now use it for the sound and as a nightlight . It provides just enough light to check on baby or change her diaper if needed. Some people complained about cycling through 5 sounds to turn off which is wrong its stated in the directions you hold the sound button for 5 seconds and they turn off, same with projector.
I like this sound machine. It’s the second one by this brand that I have purchased. My ONLY complaint is that the pictures don’t tilt. So if you have the machine on a dresser across the room, it will only show the pictures directly above the machine, not above your child’s bed. I do love that the sound and pictures both stay on until you turn them off.
We’ve been using this in our toddlers’ room since they were babies bc one of our girls wake to any sudden noise. This has helped them sleep through naps and the night. Love that it can be continuous or timed. The only complaint is that from lowest volume to second lowest volume is a big jump.
We have had four of the previous model. Other than longevity we loved them. The transitioning static images have been a satisfactory replacement to the dynamic spinning for our two girls. Given the light has been the point of failure for the previous models, we are hopeful the new design will hold up more than the six months.
Cons: I miss the on/off buttons. The only way to turn off is to cycle through to the off button. Workable, but not as idea as previous model. The digitial volume control isn't as variable as the analogue volume of previous model, but our girls like the volume pretty loud...so it works for us.
Overall we're happy.
