As a climber with an arthritic hip and troublesome shoulders, I use ice packs every night in some form or another. I had been using the basic ones you can pick up at the big retail stores (due primarily to convenience), but they simply don't last very long. The quality is usually lacking and I end up having to replace them fairly quickly. I bought the Cureve shoulder compress after putzing online and reading some reviews. Turns out, the quality of the material is solid and I have yet to blow a stitch. Another nice feature is that they include two compresses with each pack. I know it says it in the title, but I didn't really register that so it was a pleasant surprise. I also have two of their bigger hip compresses and they do an excellent job as well.
This thing has worked wonders for my migraines. The “wrap” holds tightly but comfortable around my head. The gel pack is really cold out of the freezer and stays cold for just about as long as I need, when I need even longer I can always pull the second included pack out of the freezer. I love this thing! Right now, I'm using it day and night. I take it with me on vacation and to bed. Probably the best $20 I've spent in awhile.
The directions say to microwave the gel pack for 40 seconds for heat relief. I do 45 seconds in my oven, but grab it from the middle. The ends are hot.
I am a size 10 in jeans (Female) I wrap this around my lower back for ice/heat relief. It is very snug on me. So snug I have to take it off because it gets uncomfortable so I just lean against it or lay on it.
I would give it 5 stars, if the strap was longer or it included extensions.
**update**I recieved replacements promptly and will continue using this product. I will update my review if the replacements fail in the same way the originals did.
Original Content: Great little heating pads until they began to leak. I purchased them in November '18 and they're both now leaking/unuseable in January '19. The rounded edges seem to be their weak points.
About a month ago I really messed up my Achilles tendon while attempting to get into running. It was so bad that I walked with a major limp first thing in the morning until it warmed up again.
I am kicking myself for not getting this sooner, as already in the past week using the heat method (along with stretching and googled PT exercises) I have felt massive improvement. No more limping in the morning!
I also use the pack for resting my eyes. I work in front of computers all day, so tension headaches are a frequent issue. 10 seconds in the microwave and the combination of weight and warmth melt away the pain in about 10 minutes.
The only reason for not giving this 5 stars is that the plastic has a strong burnt smell after being in the microwave (used the prescribed time of 40 secs). I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but it would be horrifying if the edges busted and spilled hot gel everywhere.

I'm using this gel pack cold for hand pain from the surgery I underwent in late October. Sadly, I'm still having quite a lot of pain. In the first week of January, I ruptured a tendon right where the surgery was performed. So, I desperately needed a better ice pack than my 20 year old one. The new one works beautifully, does the job of helping with the pain, and is comfortable to wear. I purchased 2 different brands and haven't tried out the other one yet. I thought I'd just keep one set for icing, and the other set for heat therapy. I thought the pricing was very good, and I'm very satisfied.
Ordered the gel packs as replacements for our that were destroyed in a disaster. They arrived quickly and were packaged well. The compresses are of good quality and the wrap makes it easy to apply. The compresses were a bit bigger than expected which was a welcomed surprise. The fact that they can be used hot or cold is what drew me to them. We like multifunctional items as we have little space to store things. In addition, these packs are the same type that were being used by my physical therapist. I would highly recommend this product line.
My main reasons for choosing these packs were size and material (gel pack). I needed some cold packs to place on my ankle after foot surgery...these are perfect. They are cold enough to do the job and stay cold for a fairly long time. I like the strap so you can keep it snug around the area. It is a little cumbersome because it's so long for my use but you figure it out eventually. I was also impressed with the quality of the packs and holder, making me feel that my money was well spent. I'm sure in time the velcro with start pilling the material but that's what velcro does to everything!!! I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend to anyone looking for a convenient size cold pack.
I have a problem with my foot, on the top. Doctor said to ice 3 times a day. Using an old ice pack wouldn't stay on the top of my foot and would freeze it instead of "ICE" it. Now with the Cold Press Gel Compress the icing action is staying in place and doing the job the right way. I am very happy with the quality of this product. Don't you just love it when you make the right purchase?
I like having two gel packs. I keep one in the freezer and one out to heat up in the microwave. This is a great way heat/cold pack and I've had plenty of use thus far. Being able to put the gel packs in the strap is helpful. I can strap it around my leg and be able to walk around if needed. The customer service is friendly. They check in to make sure the product is working and offer to replace if there are any defects. I highly recommend!
