These gel packs are better than the bead packs I have because they conform better to my body. I needed a cold one and put it in the freezer and used it on my neck when I had a headache. This fit snugly around my neck so I got good cooling all around my neck. These can also be used hot like a heat pack. The instructions for heating and cooling them is right on the packaging. This kit also comes with a thin non-woven fabric pouch that you can put the gel pack into so that it isn't right on your skin, which when is too cold can cause frostbite type issues. Overall these are better than my other bead packs and can be both hot and cold, which is a definite plus!
I heard some reviews complain about how cold these were (because they don’t have any real outside case other than the funky sock the send.) But with an injury I want “really cold!” And they last such a nice long time staying cold. If it’s to cold just wrap it in a paper towel or dish cloth, no biggie. But for the price these are GREAT. They’re no to small, they stay cold a nice long time, and they rinse easily off in water to clean. So I bought a second set of these (as I still have 4 kids living at home.) And I also purchased a third set of these and sent them to my son in the army. 😊

1.Place the gel pad in the microwave oven and make sure the gel pad is flat and evenly distributed.
2.Heat the gel pads for 10 seconds and test it every 10 seconds until you can feel that temperature is good.
3.write down the perfect heating time for your own microwave oven.
4.Do the same process if you want to use it again.To make it warm,heat the pack directly.
