I bought this to chew to help the symptoms of my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Nice clean pieces, and no wood/bark/filler of any sort. Just pure Boswellia Carterii tears. I believe a lot of quality Frankincense out there is of edible quality, even though many sellers don't list it as such. I bought this one because it was sold as edible grade, for peace of mind. But I have chewed other brands that had a nearly-identical quality of tears, to no ill effect at all. This one is very clean, with nice light-colored pieces. Every bit as clean looking/tasting as the best brands I have bought in the past. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to relieve pain and inflammation. It is also effective against gastrointestinal problems and depression, in my experience. Makes a great incense to burn on charcoal, as well. Highly recommended... few people realize how medicinal this resin really can be!
Very powerful stuff. I eat this everyday for my health. The effect of frankincense is really amazing! My stomach feels soothed by it, my mind very relaxed. It has a supportive effect for the heart and kidneys. I'm very sensitive to the energy of herbs and these are just my personal observation. This is truly a sacred and holy substance.
I have been chewing on this at night after I brush my teeth. Not only it makes my mouth refreshed, but I noticed that this removes stains from my teeth. I do not use chemical toothpaste and I often get stains on my teeth that can be only removed by dentist. I don't know how Frankincense works in this regard, but it does a good job of cleaning the teeth and my teeth are so much whiter. It is really noticeable and my family was surprised to see my teeth got whiter after chewing on it for a few days. With Frankincense on hand, I think I no longer have to go to a dentist for a teeth cleaning because they never made my teeth whiter than Frankincense does. I hope this will control the oral flora and have a good effect for my gums also.
I like it .I've been chewing it but not swallowing. It gets softer as you chew it and I'm starting to really like the taste (somewhat bitter but in a mild way). I'm only chewing the green pieces and saving the darker ones to burn. I read that frankincense was good for hemangiomas, so I took a small chewed piece, flattened it out, and applied it to a small hemangioma I have on my arm with a waterproof band-aid to hold it in place. I kept it on for 3-4 days even through showers & swimming. When I took off the band-aid, my hemangioma had reduced in size by about 30%. I also read a review from someone who said it whitened their teeth so I'm trying it for that as well. Sometimes you just have a good feeling about a product and that's how I feel about this.
i love this stuff. i pour boiling water over it, let it sit overnight, and add a bit to my tea. with some raw honey; it adds a very nice floral taste. i will def be buying it again :)
I'm using this to make frankincense water. I really like it. It has a good, clean taste. I'm interested in seeing the long-term benefits of drinking this.

Frankincense, also called olibanum, is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia. Frankincense is tapped from the scraggly but hardy trees by slashing the bark, which is called striping, and allowing the exuded resin to bleed out and harden. These hardened resins are called tears. There are several species and varieties of frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin.
I burned it on the charcoal first, and it smells awful, like burning a plastic. so I give it one star review. Now I am burning it on a candle with a ceramic plate in between ,there is a light smoke, and it smells wonderful ,like lemongrass. So I change my rating to 4 star. Not 5 star because I never used other brand, so just be conservative.
Make sure you do your research on how to use this. Ince you know what you're doing, it smells wonderful and fills the house! Don't use too much...I use about a half-fingernail size. Break a tear in half if you like.

Glad it was noted that it came from Jordan. Thats the only one to buy.
I use this only for burning, and it works great. Yes, it is expensive, but the quality and price is on par with what I've used from Mountain Rose Herbs, without the shipping fees. I don't eat the stuff, so if you do, might want to ask someone else.
