1 pound bag (454 grams) of 100% Magnolia Bark. Magnolia Officinalis; cortex (Bark) is the botanical name. Hou Po is the Pin Yin name. The pieces range from 2 to 4 inches long and are no more than 1/4 inch wide. They have the shape of skinny french fries. According to the packaging, this Magnolia bark product may contain sulfites. This is an exception, most of their product line does not have sulfites. Magnolia bark has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine as an aromatic herb that transforms dampness. It is beneficial to digestive system as related to food stagnation and Qi stagnation.
