The large caps fit my CVS bottles of 40d and 60d which is helpful.
They DO NOT FIT my CVS bottles of 16d and 20d which is not helpful.
One of my prescriptions (comes in a 20d) is way too large to fit the tiny little 13d bottles but barely is half of a 40d bottle.
Another one I have comes in a 40d and I can either pop the top directly onto the CVS bottle and that's fine but sometimes they give me the same exact thing in a 60d bottle and the top also fits that as well.
But the smaller caps that come with the little 13d bottle do not fit any of my CVS bottles at all so I have to transfer my pills into the TimerCaps bottles. Most of my prescriptions come in a CVS 16d bottle.
Some of my OTC stuff comes in large bottles so it would be nice if I could buy some empty 60d CVS type bottles that are compatible with these caps as I would like to transfer those meds (AREDS 2) into a timer bottle too.
I got the non childproof type because I have arthritis and it's HELL getting tops off of things. I finally got CVS to always put easy-off tops on my stuff though sometimes they forget. These tops though are VERY EASY OFF. Maybe too much so.. There is almost no resistance at all when you twist them off. I'm afraid that if I drop one it will pop open and pills will scatter. And that's not cool when you have three large dogs that are always on radar alert in the kitchen for dropped things. I think it would be better if these tops fit a little more snugly just in case they get dropped. I'm also worried that they might pop open in my purse if I have to take them with me.
As for labels I have an old Brother P-Touch labeler so I printed abbreviated labels for each thing that are easy to remove and won't leave sticky residue. I also keep the original bottles in the cabinet so that I have all the info about refilling, I can switch them out as I get refills. And I suppose it might be a good idea to carry the original bottles with me if I have to go somewhere.
Another thing that would be super helpful is if someone HINT HINT would make different colored bottles in assorted sizes that these caps would fit!
I have a thyroid med that I can not take within four hours of taking omeprazole. So I take my omeprazole first thing in the morning then I have to wait four hours to take my thyroid med. I have to set aside that bottle every morning from the others to remember to take THAT one 4 hours later. What I've been doing is using a highlighter marker to mark a huge number 4 on the label in bright yellow so I know that's the bottle to take later. Other meds I have to take in the evening so I just color their labels a bright color with a highlighter to set them apart as well.
But now that everything is in the plain little 13d amber bottles (because the timer caps won't fit my CVS 16d's) it's hard for me to tell what's what. I get confused because the names of some of these things are very similar. So I ended up putting rubber bands around the bottles for now to show me they are different than the others. Somehow I've got to come up with a way to color code these bottles. Having bottles (of larger sizes!) in various colors as well as tops that fit the CVS 16d and 20d bottles would be a BIG help. And I don't know but if there were like an 80d size bottle to put AREDS 2 in that would be awesome too.
Overall it's a good idea and I like it in general though I see a few things that could be tweaked a little and to have a few more options as well as offering either color coded bottles or at least color coded caps would be a HUGE help. I take so many things and at all different times of the day but when everything is in exactly the same size and same color bottle, it's a problem. I'll figure out a way to work around it but here's to hoping they will see this and take into consideration these issues.
I'll be buying more of these to get the rest of my stuff into timer caps as I really like the concept a lot.
I'm giving them 4/5 stars for a generally good idea but with a few short comings (though not deal breakers.)
It's simple, it works well, and can help you avoid a serious lapse of memory when it comes to keeping up with your meds. I am really glad I bought this and highly recommend them. Fool proof even for someone who isn't tech savvy or can't handle instructions. I plan to get these for my elderly parent.
I take a pill first thing when I get up but am still groggy from sleep. I was always forgetting if I took it. I did not want to risk taking two, so often I just took none. This solves this problem. Thanks.
Stuff are great, but can get them by cheaper price on official site
It works just like the claimed it would,
