I purchased this for a hip replacement surgery. Some of the furniture in my house was a little too low to sit upon after i got home from the hospital. This cushion was a very wise purchase, as it helped me in my recovery period. My only complaint about this product is that the material in the cover is a bit slippery. Be prepared to slide off of it. HOWEVER, I read some of the other responses before my purchase and fixed the problem with a Medium sized T Shirt, pins and some duct tape. You could also use a twin sized "Jersey cotton" pillow case too, but it worked. Ps- the shoulder strap was a plus. easy to take with you from room to room, or out and about.

Husband had hip problem and so I ordered this to help when sitting for any length of time and it certainly has helped him and taking it with us when we go out is a breeze with the handy strap. Also you can hook it around most chairs so, when you stand up the cushion stays put.
I have permanent complications from a hip replacement and this pillow makes riding in a car and sitting on hard chairs possible and comfortable. I made a cover with a non-skid insert on the bottom for mine so it won't slide off chairs or my wheelchair. Have absolutely no complaints. The strap makes it easy to carry, a big plus. If you don't cover the nylon cover, you will slide around on the cushion, that can be good or bad, depending on your needs.
After hip replacement, this cushion was perfect for my dining room and office chair, which are both too low after my surgery. It is slippery, so beware. Also, it is very firm, not something you can sit on all day. But it is perfect for what I need, a cushion that doesn't go flat when I sit on it, and I'm a big woman at 300 pounds. I have a 3 inch wheelchair cushion that I use for all day comfort in my armchair.
My hip surgery patient has found this cushion to be exactly what she needs. It is lightweight, easily cleaned, and the proper thickness. It does not deform significantly. It would be better if there were tie strings to attach the cushion to the chair in both the 'portrait' and 'landscape' positions. There are only ties to attach to the 'landscape' orientation. (longer dimension across the chair.)

I needed to get a boost in chair height while working at my desk on the computer and the Hermell 4-Inch cushion was just the trick. It was delivered to the day, when predicted, and is firm and well made. I have used it every day for over a month and am TOTALLY pleased. The strap as shown works very well to keep the cushion in place on my rolling desk chair, a benefit I had not considered. It is very comfortable and I would recommend this cushion to anyone that that needs a little extra height in a work chair.
Purchased for mother-in-law after hip replacement surgery. She loved this pillow. It fit perfectly in the wheelchair and then her kitchen chair after she healed.
I bought this one to replace another one that looks very similar. This one was a much better value than the other. Although the cover is washable it does not prevent leakage through to the foam itself but the fabric on the other did not either. I wish the foam was covered with some kind of a wipe-off moisture-proof vinyl cover under the fabric.
Nice strong cushion that provides excellent support. As others have said, the bag/covering is slippery and really only necessary in the case of incontinence. I made my own cover and adopted the handle as it is a great idea for transporting it.
Perfect for turning a regular living room chair into a 'hip' chair that I needed for post op hip replacement. A little slippery, but solved with a cover
