This is one of the greatest inventions ever!!! I am approaching total hip replacement and cannot bend...now, I don't need too...this tool picks up everything from a dropped can of soup to a grocery bag with 3 packages of crackers in it...I have two...one for random pick-ups and one in the bedroom/bathroom...it even picked up a bottle cap with the magnet end...kudos to the inventor...very well thought out device.
This is exactly what it claims to be. I have bought 3 of these from Amazon 3rd parties. None of them have even had the brand name promised on the generic reachers, one wasn't even what was pictured. I should have sent them back for a refund when I could, neither lasted 2 months. This one is much sturdier and came in the manufacturers packaging, the others weren't even packaged and the description didn't say oem.
I purchased three.......two for myself and one for a friend. I am, shall we say, not tall. Unless I want to fall head first into the washer, I'm saved from that by using the reacher. My friend is also not tall.
First of alll, I like the length of it because I can pick things off the floor and hand it to the other hand. I can't do that with the longer reacher with the suction cups.
Next, it is sturdy enough to get things out of the refridgerator but I can also pick paper off the floor.
The magnet has helped me several times and the little knob on top helps me pull things to within my reach.
I am in a wheel and this helps me be more independent.
I can get spices out of the cabinet!
Good device. Well engineered. You can remove the plastic shroud from the bottom to tighten up the cord when it stretches.

It is a relatively precise extension of your thumb & forefinger which can pick up a wide variety of items from a dime to a can of soup. Reasonably priced, comfortable to use, it is well worth waiting for on an internet purchase. Only very tall persons will need the longer, 36" version.
My mother in law had hip replacement surgery. I got this one and the longer one. The long one is by her bed for changing clothes. The shorter one is by her chair to get things.
This is very light weight and well made. She loves it and it's not a bad price.
I got this for my elderly mother and she claims it is lightweight and works very well. She uses it to change diapers and clothes.
She had an older one too but she likes the newer one as she thinks its more lightweight for her arthritic hands.
