I've bought quite a few of the Transcend Glucose Gel packets already. As a Type 1 diabetic I always need to keep something with me in case of a low blood sugar emergency. I previously bought the strawberry flavor which was okay and decided to try the orange and was surprised that I actually really liked it a lot more.
HOWEVER, I've had issues with quite a few of these bursting open in my purse. I've had this issue with at least 4-5 of them now. The packaging needs to be improved, but no one has answered my emails in regards to this yet. also they're raised the price on these by $3 since I last bought them >:|
These are awesome for treating low blood sugars. They're easy to toss in my bag or pocket, and are pretty tough so no worries about exploding glucose gel. They're also easy to open, and I've had no issues even with a glucose level of 35. Taste is orangey. It's not obnoxious, and kind of neutral which is great for getting it down. I way prefer these over glucose tablets. There's no obnoxious chalky taste/texture, and I don't have to count the number of tablets to get to 15 g of carbohydrates. These make testing afterwards easier because you don't have to worry about glucose tablet powder all over yourself skewing test results. I normally carry wipes with me, but it's easier to just treat the low and not have to worry about remembering to wash your hands before testing again. All and all, for me, these are awesome and I love them!!!
This is a gel suitable for being administered under the tongue if I should get my blood glucose low enough that it isn’t safe to use tablets. And, since it is dye free it doesn’t stain things if it should leak in your pocket.
Absolutely love this stuff! Keep a couple in my purse at all times. After biking 45 min at the gym this morning, I headed off to do my stretching, but realized as soon as I reached the mats that I was crashing. Made it to my locker, sat down and sucked one in. Within a few minutes I was functional again. Better than keeping candy or granola bars with me.
I've always hated those glucose tablets. They're so big, hard to chew, and taste awful. I bought the orange flavor Transcend gel. While it's not delicious, it tastes much better than the other gel products. The packets fit easily into my purse or wallet, so they're readily available in an emergency. I will buy again.

tastes great! when I have low blood sugar, I get insane food cravings, but this stuff tastes like candy, so I actually skip the binge now and go for one of these! I feel like it raises my sugar faster than glucose tabs do. I also like how the packaging makes it look like an energy gel that runners use, so it looks less like part of my diabetic supplies.
If you or someone you love is a diabetic that suffers from sever drops in their blood sugar, this a very quick way to bring their numbers back up (15g of Carbs at a time). Only complaint i've been told is that it is too sweet, but what do you expect, its concentrated glucose. Much cheaper option through amazon than other retail stores. Arrived within 36 hours.
Transcend's glucose gel has some of the best flavors; my fave is orange. It's 15 gm of help when hypoglycemia hits. I'm blind, so its hard for me to find that little tab you lift to facilitate chugging the stuff down and I end up using one of my knives, usually a Knives of Alaska D2 steel folder with serrated teeth at base of blade that whizz through the plastic at top of packet instantly.
I use these all the time at home and at work. Got em stashed everywhere. They taste great and are easy to use, work fast. I love em n
Taste is little rough, but it does the job. If you're a Type 1 Diabetic and need sugar quickly, it'll bring you back up. I kept it on me as I hiked across Scotland (West Highland Way).
