For many years, I've looked for a facial lotion that didn't have harsh chemicals or animal derived ingredients. Of the multitude of lotions I tried over the years (organic and the like), they were either too greasy (shiny skin), too smelly, plugged my pours or had a negative reaction to in some way. But now, I found this. . .and how thankful of that I am.
This lotion is on the lighter side, but, even so, it still hydrates well for my very thin and sensitive skin. It doesn't leave a shine as most other facial lotions have, nor does it have much of a smell. The light smell it does have resembles that of a crayon--to me, anyway--which was only noticeable for a short time after application. And after my olfactory system acclimated to it (in about a week), I could no longer detect much of any smell, even right after applying it. Most importantly, though, my body tolerates this very well. With some lotions, it can take one's skin a week or so to adjust, can cause some minor blemishes or the like for a short time, but for me and this lotion, no such issues whatsoever--none.
Now. . .I'm not saying this will work for you as it has for me, nor am I saying you won't have any reaction to this. Everyone's body and its inner workings are as unique as one's fingerprints. What will work for one may not work for another, regardless of the outward similarities. The best we can do is try and see what works. It amazes me that many of the reviews for this lotion state that since this product didn't work for them, that it surely will not work for you if you have a similar type of skin or condition as they do. That simply is not true. It is all about trial and error, which can take a great amount of time. For me, it has taken me countless years of frustration and searching for a lotion such as this--one that my body can tolerate and that which fulfills my needs.
If you are wondering if this lotion is tested on animals and that you are confused like I was by the contradicting answers people have given within their reviews and the questions section (some say yes, while others say no), as of 11-5-18, their website states this: "We're constantly looking for smarter, more recyclable packaging option and more sustainably sourced cartons and ingredients. Simple is kind to skin and to animals too. We do not test our products on animals. We believe products that are safe for humans can be developed using non-animal approaches."
Companies can sometimes lie, but I hope that statement is true. In the long run, lying never serves anyone well. As it is said, "Honesty is the best policy" and I truly hope it is so for this company. For further information, please check out their website: simpleskincare.com

This was the perfect moisturizer for me. It hydrates well and it's unscented, so it didn't irritate my skin. Plus, it's pretty inexpensive, which is great since I'm on a budget. However, the company tests on animals, so I'm switching to a kinder brand.
I have extremely sensitive skin. I also have eczema and my face tends to get dry patches with the ever changing seasons. Working in the dessert, living in the mountains, and dealing with the air pollution in California then relocating to the south that goes from humid to dry has done a number on my face. I absolutely cannot go without this stuff. I dont know what I would do if it were ever discontinued. It has done me well in both environments.
I've also tried the neutrogena hydro line ,and its ok..... but this stuff here I must have. It's a thirsty face dream.
It can be worn under your makeup and in conjunction with spf, cc/bb cream and other moisturizers as well as tinted moisturizers. It's a gel consistency and it absorbs quickly without a tacky or oily feel. It doesnt sit on your face like oil or settle in creases. It literally hydrates your face taking that tightness and dry patches away. Love this stuff.
I started to use this on the day I received this product, and it is AMAZING.
I had a few dry patches on my face due to dry/cold weather...and I've used different cream/and different hydrating products try to get ride of it, nothing worked. I saw this on a Taiwan beauty show, so I decided to give it a try.
1 day, I put on a thick layer right out of shower...and let it absorb while I brush my teeth. Then I massage my face afterwards...zero sticky feeling. I hate HATE sticky hydrating booster. Then I put my usual night creme on at the end.
2 day, same thing.
3 day, my dry patches are much better..smoother by at least 50%.
4 day, hardly feel them anymore.
5 day, gone.
I LOVE LOVE this product. After the patches are gone, I just use a bean size morning& night before my routine. My skin is glowing. No break out ( I break out all the time....and I break up if I use sticky hydrating products.) However, the tube is very small...and I know I will repurchase. It is worth every penny!
i add this to my simple face lotion. the extra moisture help with the dry fall/winter weather in CO. am going to buy again.

Ive written a review for this product before but I love it so much I dont mind being asked to do it again. I don't use makeup remover wipes any more and my face thanks me. I use two pea sized amounts and lather it on my face. Wash and repeat once more. My face always feels clean and my acne problems are virtually gone. I know its this because I haven't changed anything else in my routine!
Didn't realize I wasn't using a moisturizer the way I should have been, so my normally "dry with an oily chin" became "painfully dry with a slightly oily chin". My face HURT. I used this overnight ONCE, and the patches were GONE. I've used it a few times now, and I really like it. I'm not sure whether it would be strong enough if you have a medical condition, like eczema/psoriasis/side effect of Acutane/etc., but for regular 30-something dry skin? Perfect! Youth To The People has a yellow mask that feels even better (thicker, more emollient), but it's $48. Simple is a good brand, and for under $9 it's definitely a good buy.
I have sensitive skin and find that this facial moisturizer works great with my skin. My skins feels super soft and not too greasy when I use this like other moisturizers do. It is super cheap, especially on amazon. Definitely recommend giving this a try and buying it from amazon rather than the store to save a dollar or two.
My teen uses prescription retinoids and they are very very drying, but most moisturizers are irritating to his sensitive skin. This particular version of Simple moisturizer works well enough to hydrate, but doesn’t feel greasy. Other moisturizers have higher SPF ratings (which I would prefer), but those also seem to leave a lot of sunscreen-type residue. So this SPF-15 variety is a compromise, but one that works for my kid for now.
I grew up with pustulus, cystic acne and tried everything. I still had acne in esrly twenties and with a mild diet change, and using the Simple products daily, my skin is extremely clear. I am extremely thankful for this product line for being able to keep my skin clean and balanced. Unfortunately, all retailers in my metro area have stopped carrying the facial scrub. I hope that isn't foreshadowing anything about its overall availability.
