These glasses are excellent. Love them. The frames, the style and they are very comfortable. Very happy with this purchase.
Update from last review. After using these reading for a while now, i have to say that they aren't so great concerning the fit. the manufacturer of these glasses missed their mark on one design flaw. The half rim is down too far on the nose and they scratched and irritated my skin and caused a bruise like spot on my face. not happy with them now. Can't wear them.
You can't beat the price for a set of 3 pairs of reading glasses. The disadvantage of online ordering is being able to try on the fit and the feel. Out of the box, they were too big for my big head. A couple of small gentle bends on each side of the bridge fixed that for the most part. They still fit a bit loosely, but not a real problem. They are heavier than the last ones that I bought from a major retailer's rack, but I'd also imagine that they will be more durable, too. These have metal arms coated with a plastic finish whereas the ones that I lost were lightweight plastic. The weight difference is noticeable to me, but again not a real problem. With the price, you can't go too far wrong. At worst, you have several pairs of back-ups you can stash away in different places while getting your primary pair at a brick-and-mortar store. I'm quite pleased and use one of the set as my primary reading glasses.
Update: of the three glasses, two have developed chips near the top area of the frame. At first I thought l must have caused the damage but today the same happened to the second pair in the exact same location. Don’t know if it is design flaw or what but two units have chipped in the same. Strange !!
The glasses seem quite well made, and provide great vision. However, I had a problem with two chips in the outside right lens of one pair. I contacted Success Eyewear and relayed the issue. They responded almost instantaneously, and said they’d make it right as another new pair of glasses would arrive shortly.
True to their word another pair arrived a few days later! It is so refreshing to deal with a company that sees the value in offering outstanding customer service! It is no wonder they are so highly rated on Amazon.
If you have the need, do business with Success Eyewear. You won’t be disappointed!
My husband has been buying reading glasses from drugstores for years. They typically cost around $20 a pair, and he goes through them like candy, he's always dropping them out of his pocket and sitting or stepping on them. It was getting both inconvenient and expensive.
I looked on Amazon for replacements, just to avoid driving to the drugstore yet again. My husband likes an odd size, 3.25, and not every Amazon reading glass set goes so high in magnification. When I saw these, I thought, how can they possibly sell 3 pairs of odd magnification reading glasses for under $10? We were paying $20 PER PAIR retail. I was not expecting much, but since he loses them constantly, there was no downside to trying these.
First, I grabbed a tape measure and measured his face. If you buy glasses of any type online, there's no telling whether they will fit or not if you don't measure. Judging by the different shapes and sizes of people's faces and eye gap, there could be a huge difference in what works for you and what doesn't.
How to measure glasses online:
The glasses come with a measurement chart right in the photos. Get the measure for the bridge of your nose (20mm) on a tape measure, and hold it to your nose. That measures where the edge of the lens will sit on your nose.
If that measure works, add that bridge measurement to the width of 1 lens (in this case 20mm nose + 51mm for a single lens), hold the 71mm tape to your face where they should go. That should be the distance from center of pupil to pupil.
Now add the other lens (71mm + 51mm) That 122mm is the distance from edge of glass to other edge of glass on your face.
The protrusion of the arms will take it out on either side a bit further, specifically 127mm as the photo shows. That's the distance from end to end of the glasses on your face, including the arms of the glasses.
Then measure the arm to your ear on the tape (in this case 146mm), and hold that to where the glasses would sit on your face to the back of your ear where the arm ends.
Don't order the glasses if these measurements aren't close to your face, it won't look or sit right, even if it could fit. Wearing badly fitted glasses for a long time will become uncomfortable. In my husband's case, it was a great fit, but he's got a relatively narrow face. On me, the fit was just a few mm too narrow... but the arms stretch outwards to fit me anyway. If I'm not reading for a long time, I could wear these too, even if the fit isn't perfect. No way could I wear them all day because the fit's not perfect. The style is attractive on us both, that's pretty unusual!
Quality wise, I can't see a thing wrong with them... they are comparable if not nicer than the $20 glasses at the drugstore. HOWEVER, they are heavier, because they are more solidly constructed. The weight would be too much for me if I had to wear them all day, in addition to the not perfect fit. Since they are reading glasses for him, and he only pulls them out when reading, the weight isn't even a small problem, it's a benefit. Hopefully the weight will make him notice if they fall out of his pocket. Also, a 3.25 lens is much thicker than normal, so it would necessarily weigh more. I'm sure the smaller increments are a bit thinner and thus lighter.
So the Pros:
Has the higher magnification that are not always available (3.25 specifically)
SOOOO inexpensive! $3.33 a pair!!
Solidly constructed, as good as or better than most drug store reading glasses. Seem more durable.
The hinge expands outwards to adjust for slightly larger faces (but obviously will fall off a smaller face... MEASURE before buying).
Cons
Heavier than many drug store reading glasses
- if you need the higher magnification and you will wear them all day, these may be too much for you. I'm not taking a any stars off for the weight, because quality tends to weigh more, and that means they are more durable.
At this price, these are definitely going to be his 'go-to' reading glasses!! Hope this helps!

I received my reading glasses on time, the frame construction & quality is very good, the lense clarity is superb, the customer support was unexpectedly great and appreciated. This is the 1st company that truly takes care of their product and customers. I received an order that was incorrectly boxed, I sent "one" email to make them aware of the inventory mistake and to my surprise the CEO of the company responded and sent me a corrected order. I highly recommend this company and products.
Set of 3 glasses arrived via mail undamaged. Each appears to be well made. Others have complained of heaviness. I see them as sturdy frames, good spring hinges and decent lenses. One pair did arrive with a bent nosepiece. I was afraid to bend it myself in fear of breaking it off. I mentioned this in a response to a follow up email from Success Eyewear. They promptly shipped out a second set of glasses. Customer Service is outstanding. I highly recommend purchasing reading glasses from them.
These readers are simple but very effective. The style is low key. The build quality is well beyond their modest price. Great value. When it comes time to get readers of a higher magnification level I will definitely seek out this brand again.
Readers have good quality lenses. I like the spring hinges. These readers feel more substantial than the flimsy readers I usually get on Ebay. I spent a few more bucks that I usually do and it was worth it. They were well packaged. Plus they were here in two days with Prime. I will probably lose them before I break them, that's for sure.
I bought these glasses for my husband, he works in a body shop and his glasses take a beating......he usually buys his readers in the Dollar Store. We found these on Amazon and they are very well made and a lot sturdier than the cheaper models. Three pairs should last him for a while, but we will purchase these again when he needs new ones!
