Problem solved! My husband has a progressive neurological motor disorder, and these plate guards plus non-skid silicon placemats make it possible for him to eat without food going all over the table while the plate walks onto the floor. The guard is unobtrusive, and I just bought an extra one to keep in the car for when we eat out. Excellent product!
very easy to put on. Helps with keeping food on the plate, off the table. Fits many of our regular dishes also. I had another brand that snapped in half first time I used it. If you put it in the dishwasher please use top rack and secure it. I had one fall to the bottom and it lost shape from the heat.
Does exactly what it says. The only drawback is if used on a larger than 10-inch plate it reduces the plate size, but that is really a non-issue. I would recommend it for those who have mobility or other medical difficulties or for children.
I use a spoon/fork fitted on to a universal cuff to eat. More often than not I end up pushing food out of the plate. Hence I was restricted to eating in a bowl or something with high walls. This plate guard fits onto different sizes of plates and makes eating easier as I can push stuff towards it and easily pick it up onto the spoon. Have been using at over six months and it still grips onto the plate really good.
This was a gift for a disabled friend. She uses it all the time and likes it very much.
