I have been using Tarte maracuja oil for YEARS... decided to find a cheaper oil since it's super expensive thru them... I stumbled upon this on Amazon and IT'S AMAZING! I LOVE IT MORE THAN TARTES! IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THE SWITCH TO THIS MARACUJA OIL...DO IT! :) :) so happy with the product. 5 stars.... and I rarely write reviews... :)
I've been using Drunk Elephant's marula oil but I wanted to find an oil to use for the oil cleansing method. Jojoba oil doesn't work well for me, and I'd heard maracuja oil was great for acneic skin because of its antibacterial properties and 2-year shelf life! I have normal skin with occasional blemishes, and I've recently gotten more interested in preventative care for my skin. Well, I can say that this definitely does NOT work well for the oil cleansing method. BUT, that's only because the oil sinks in to my skin so quickly and never ever feel greasy. I've never really known what a dry oil is, but I can only think it's something like this! Anyway, I've now transitioned to using this as a moisturizer by itself in the morning and mixed with the marula oil at night. I'd always found that the marula oil, while amazing for moisture, was always too heavy and greasy to use in the morning. This maracuja oil doesn't have that problem at all! Massaging the oil into my face in the mornings immediately makes my complexion look smoother and brighter. Anyway, if you're hesitating at all, I really strongly recommend this oil!! Already my complexion is clearer and I love how smooth my face feels. It also seems to have cleared up some small bumps on my forehead which is just fantastic!!
I love this Maracuja oil. It has been a game changer for me. I'm 54 years old and everyone thinks I'm very early 40's. I don't have any lines to speak of, but even though I've been using natural products and essential oils, I still struggled with extremely oily skin, redness, the odd blemish, and dullness. I have been using a combination of coconut oil, Leven Rose emu oil, lavender oil, and frankincense oil, and my skin has improved immensely. Skin is almost normal except for a slight oily t-zone after a long day, redness is gone, and still the odd blemish. I added this maracuja oil to the mix and, viola, perfect, blemish free, glowing skin! My husband and mom comment all the time on my glow.
I only need a bit of cover up around my nose and chin with a bit of powder. Add mascara, lips, and cheeks and I'm good to go - a real blessing in this brutal Arizona heat.

Very comparable to Tarte's Maracuja Oil but at a much lower cost. I will never go back to regular face moisturizer. This does wonders for my face. I have oily/dry and acne prone skin. This mattifies my face but also moisturizes very well and my face doesn't get oily all day when I use this. I will continue to purchase this product.
I am absolutely in love with this oil! A friend had suggested Tarte's oil, but being a full time college student and single mom, I don't have money for expensive products like that! I hopped on Amazon and saw this one with great reviews and decided to take a chance. I have a SUPER oily t-zone, especially my nose. I have used this ONLY TWICE, and it's a night and day difference. My face is so soft and moisturized and the oil slick of a nose is completely gone!!! I also mix a couple of drops with my foundation and it looked absolutely amazing! I usually use Tarter Maracuja oil or Josie Maran Argan oil. Those bottles typically run around $50 for the same sized bottle (1.5 oz).
The Leven Rose Maracuja oil is good, considering the price. It's not bad for being less than $20.
Pros: clean oil, nice packaging, no smell. It is mildly/moderately moisterizing. My face hasn't eperienced any break outs or reactions from use. I some times mix a drop into my foundation for smoother coverage.
Cons: it's a thinner and less moisturizing oil than the other oils I have used, mainly Tarte and Josie Maran. I feel like my skin is a little drier from using this product compared to others.
Summary, it's a good oil for the price. There are definitely facial oils that are thicker and more moisturizing but they average at least $30 more for the same size product. So it kind of depends on how much you want to pay for your moisturizer. Also, its thin enough to spread onto hair/split ends and affordable enough to use for other areas of the body, not just the face.
I absolutely love this product! I use it as a moisturiser right before applying make up. It doesn't leave my skin oily, in fact, my skin absorbs it so well. I use it daily and can see that the sun spots are starting to fade. Customer service is the best, plus I received a gift card for their leven rose water... I will definitely place another order for their jojoba oil.
I used the Tarte for over a year and have found no difference in the performance after switching to this one because of the price. The Tarte version is clear, this version is a light yellow which I'm pretty sure indicates that it is fresher. Tarte's is mostly unscented, this one smells slightly sweet. This oil quenches my dehydrated skin and heals my moderate acne. I will continue to purchase from this company since they specialize in this kind of product while Tarte is just a cosmetics company with skincare thrown in.
I usually use Tarte Maracuja. Its so expensive. I looked up the ingredients and the way the ingredient is processed, cold pressed. This oil is made the same and with the same ingredient, at a reasonable price. It is the same consistency and keeps my face nice and soft. I use it at night and by the morning it has absorbed and there is no residue.
I first fell in love with maracuja oil/facial oils when I used a sample from Tarte. I was amazed at how I didn't break out (I have very oily and acne prone skin), it left me moisturized and not greasy. But the one from tarte is soooooo expensive!! So I bought this one, same effects for a way better price. Also it smells better!! Kind of berry-ish? I love this oil and will continue to purchase it
