3-Pair RTSFUS30HP - Howard Leight Fusion Multiple-Use Earplug

3-Pair RTSFUS30HP - Howard Leight Fusion Multiple-Use Earplug

Feel: Perfect fit for normal ears on a 5'9" man, soft, but not something to wear for 2 hours max, not all day
Guns: 7.62 x 39, 5.56, 223, 40, 22 LR, all were great to use with, but you can't eliminate the 7.62 concussion force with ear protection ;)
Value: Amazing, can't beat it
Able to be cleaned with ligh soap water, cannot find any cons with this product at all.

I work with a lot of noisy equipment - chainsaws, pressure washers, grinders, log splitters, Bobcats, mowers, . . . I don't like the muff type hearing protection because I'm also usually wearing a hat & glasses which are really uncomfortable with muffs. But, I have really small ear canals and have had a hard time finding plugs that I can insert without total frustration. None of the foam ones work for me at all. These fit the bill. They have really good insertion ends, are comfortable, don't easily become detached from the cord, and do a great job reducing the sound. As an added bonus, the case is a good size too - I just keep a pair of these in my front pocket all the time because I end up using them, for something, almost every day. I've tried, and will continue to try, different plugs (I'm always looking for something better); but right now these are my favorites. But they don't hold up well when the dog gets 'hold of them if you drop them.

I use these mainly on my LOUD motorcycle. Has a nice carrying case and easily fits into my shirt pocket. I also use these when I need to ensure a restful nights doze. (I don't use the included lanyard or either activities btw). They don't stick out too far for side-sleepers tho I should mention I do have big ears. Your mileage may vary. I've found them very comfortable and have worn them for 10+ while sleeping and they didn't give me an achy ear hole upon waking.

Should also add, I've tried almost every other ear plugs out there ranging from moldable sets, foam pairs, specific earplugs for musicians etc and the best ones happened to be the least expensive! Oh and you get THREE SETS.

These haven't deformed over time and I wear my set daily on my motorcycle.

After hours of research and a bunch of money spent on ear plugs I've finally found the right pair!

Hope this helps anyone out there looking for a set. Let me know if you have any questions!

I've

I use these twice a week for trapshooting. After trying several brands they're the best I've found. The four baffles are very soft and flexible, making them comfortable, easy to insert and remove. Partially inserted, they stay put and still provide some protection while allowing normal conversation 10-15 yards behind the firing line. Gently washed after each use, my original pair have lasted over two years. These 3 pair are identical and will remain in my bag until needed.

My only complaint is the plugs can sometimes drop off the cord ends when hung around the neck for extended periods at the range. This was solved by gluing the shoelace-style cord tips into the plug holes with a drop of crazy glue or epoxy cement.

These seem kinda cheesy compared to the custom plugs some shooters use. I've considered custom plugs but haven't bothered
because these are inexpensive, compact, comfortable and effective.

As opposed to many earplugs I've worn (including some pretty doggone expensive ones...) these are very comfortable & provide excellent noise reduction. I usually forget I have these on until I get in the car & start wondering why I can't hear the stereo... They work great at the range by themselves or in conjunction with electronic muffs. I also use the heck out of 'em to drown out the crappy music that my gym likes to play over the loudspeakers... The supplied case is pretty nice, too -- flat w/ a slight curve, fitting nicely in the pocket (instead of blocky or cylindrical, like most). I might forget my pocket knife or some other item that I probably should always carry, but I've always got a pair of these in my pocket...

Description

Howard Leight Fusion Multiple-Use Earplug

I use std size foam plugs every day both in an industrial environment at work and at home to sleep. I was looking for a corded set for the factory with handles so they can be popped in and out as needed, rolling up the foam kind is a hassle. These corded re-usable and beautifully made ear plugs with a nice cord should last a long time, but... at least in my ear canals, this design does not stay in thus they don't seal out any sound at all. I pushed them in as far as I can stand, feels like they are in, but as soon as i let go they slip back out to a shallow position that has virtually zero sound sealing effect. hummmmmm

I just tried wetting these plugs before inserting them. ah! vastly better. They slide in better and stay in now. sound reduction is good. no excellent! comfort is great. I'm changing my review from a 1* to a 4*

I really like these and plan to purchase MORE... but these "flanged" style earplugs are a definite "no-no" for anyone who has or has had trouble with earwax buildup/impaction. My hubby used to have that trouble but hasn't in years... so we really didn't consider that these might not be a good option for him to use for ear protection at our firearms training class. They were absolutely GREAT for me... I love the lightweight, the removable cord/lanyard and the small, handy case in which to keep them from dust/dirt or banging around with other gear. Hubby, on the other hand, starting later the same day began suffering a clogged ear feeling from earwax impaction that ultimately required a doctor's intervention.

Conclusion: If you're not prone to this kind of problem with excess earwax production and/or impaction, then you may be thrilled with these like I am! On the other hand, if you have ever had earwax problems, my sincere advise would be, please, just don't even risk these or any other flanged or deeply inserted "in the ear canal" plugs. :)

Hope you find this helpful! :) Blessings! Meg

First of all, I love these ear plugs. They go in easily, are comfortable to wear, and they block the most annoying and damaging frequencies of sound. I carry a pair in my camera bag and slip them into my ears when shooting live concerts. Standing right next to the stage speakers is impossibly loud, but these plugs make it bearable. I like that I don't have to wait for them to expand like foam earplugs, and while these do control the noise entering my ears, they also seem to let in just enough voice-frequencies that I can understand people talking to me while wearing the plugs.

The only drawback I found was the included string can pull out of the plugs if you pull them too quickly. I added a single drop of CA glue to the string hole in each plug before inserting the string and they are now held fast. Pulling out the plugs with the strings works perfectly.

These are great ear plugs, very comfortable and very effective. They seem specifically suited for large people or those with large ear canals, although I suspect they would also work for smaller ones as the material is very soft and pliable. I tried the gel-plug type of ear plugs and they were too small for my large canal eeef. I tried the foam type of plugs and they were not comfortable when worn for longer periods. These Howard Leight Fusion plugs are perfect. The material is very soft and the 4-layer sound reduction system is very effective at reducing noise. I use these mostly when riding dirt bikes which can go on for 3-4 hours sometimes. I bet they would work for any other noise-reduction application, such as concerts/band practice, power equipment, etc. I had a pair of these before and I never had a problem, and should have bought these again right away. Highly recommended.

These work pretty well for blocking noise if the seal is secure but then there's this feeling like there's a suction going on and that isn't really comfortable. It feels like pressure. This is probably the positioning that I have them in; to maximize the sound blocking but it would be nice if they were more "breathable" without letting sound through.

I use them for blocking snoring at night, loud talking in the next cubicle, and TV if I'm not watching and don't want to hear it. I'm sensitive to sound so sometimes with the vacuum too....they do pretty well.
