This really is hypo-allergenic. I have a diabetic child who needs insulin pump and glucose monitoring devices taped to him 24/7, and he's extremely adhesive-sensitive. Even most adhesives labeled for "sensitive skin" can cause him to have dramatic skin reactions. But we've been taping down his devices with Hypafix for the last 3 years, and it causes him NO issues. It's sticky enough that his devices that stay in place for 6-7 days at a time usually don't need re-taping, unless he's been especially active in sweaty sports or has been swimming a lot.
My 3 brothers and I were as rough and tumble as it was humanly possible to be. Now as a father of 4 I figured I'm doubly qualified to speak as a expert on bandages, dressings, casts, and stitches: this Hypafix rocks for what it is. Zero sticky residue but -here is the catch with zero residue tapes - it also stays in place even on feet, fingers, and elbows.
Only drawbacks are it's price and the fact it has to be cut with scissors or a sharp knife.
A few days ago I had written a review on the 2 inch x 10 foot tape. I mistakenly gave a bad review based on the belief that I had not received a set of two boxes in this order several months ago. Why? Because I had not been seeing more than one box which I've nearly finished using.
However, this evening I was showing my son where the box of small bandages were kept and, in the process, I came across a strange bag and opened it. To my delight, there was the second box of Hypafix which I placed on the shelf where it belongs.
My humble apologies to the seller for my error prior in giving a bad review.
I use Hypafix in both sizes for three reasons:
(1) I use it for strapping and stabilizing my left knee when it gets weak.
(2) When I get restless leg syndrome, I use it to tighten my foot so that it cannot flex. Basically, I'm forcing my foot to stay flatfooted. If my foot cannot flex, my whole leg cannot jerk as it all starts in the foot. Pretty Cool!!! Thanks to Hypafix.
(3) Less frequently, I have minor surgeries. I use the Hypafix to provide extra support.
While I did not need both boxes of Hypafix tape I was happy I could find it online. The Derm Doctor office used it when I had 3 spots of basal cell carcinoma removed. Being a man with hairy legs and arms, it was nice to find a tape that'd stick to gauze pad and NOT yank out the hair. I had to change each bandages 2x day.
I like the dressing tape overall. I have a chronic illness and have to wear a pain medication patch on my arm and it has trouble sticking so I use this tape to help it from coming off. It works great for this purpose but because I constantly have to put it on and off, even though I switch arms every 48 hours, it can make my skin red. My skin is very sensitive though and I do wear it more than the average person would be using it. My father used this tape after getting a couple stickers to keep a gauze bandage on for a couple days and said it worked great. I would recomend it.

2 rolls of 2 inch hypafix
Keeps gauze and other things in place so well through being sat upon, diaper changes, and the general difficulty of keeping wounds covered and clean, Nothing really did it until we got this.
Stays put! I use this tape to cover my transmitter for my continuous glucose monitor. It keeps me from ripping out expensive sensors and doesn’t peel off of my skin which is great. Doesn’t stick to the oval tape that come with the sensors enough that I can’t peel it off when I want to extend a sensor either which is great. Highly recommend!!
I use this product all the time for my tattoo cover-up. It works so well and sticks great. I will cut a piece to the size desired for each tattoo and apply over the tattoo. Then take a concealer stick that matches the color of the area that you are covering and apply directly to the top of the material. the color will not fade or rub off. Works extremely well for what I need it to do!
Love this stuff. A PT first used it on my knee with a heavy tape on top to hold the knee in place. I use it now to hold a Lidocaine patch on my feet and hands to cool down the nerves. Easy to remove, yet holds it firmly on.
We first got this product from the drs office. It’s stretchy, sticks great & doesn’t pull your skin off along with removing it. We used it on the forehead, nose, cheek & there were no irritation/ breakout issues. One of the best tapes we’ve ever used! Definitely recommend.
