My mom is 89 and a Type 1 diabetic. I give her insulin shots daily but she still struggles with low sugar episodes. The most recent was today (18 Jun 2017), when I woke her up her speech was blurred and she could not sit up in the bed on her own, her sugar had bottomed out at 56. I was able to slowly get one packet in her mouth. Within 15 minutes her sugar reading was 132 **NOTE, once she was able to drink on her own I also gave her a bottle of orange juice. But I have used the packets when I did not have access to anything else that might help boost moms sugar levels. EVERY time I have seen a very noticeable improvement within 15 minutes - (between 40 and 50 points on the meter). Mom is a light, picky eater so getting her to eat every few hours takes a lot of creative thinking. These little packets are handy to store. They are small enough to put in your purse or pocket. The material the packets are made of is strong enough you do not have to worry about them bursting open and leaking the content all out. So far this company only has one flavor, strawberry, which is great for mom as she loves the taste. I will never be without these handy little lifesavers as an emergency treatment for my mom.
This glucose gel works quickly. The packaging is sturdy and will not tear in your handbag, gym bag, suitcase, etc. It is pretty easy to tear open when you are running on empty and need to get some glucose into your body. I don't particularly like fruit flavors for glucose, but this strawberry isn't too bad. I just wish that they would make other non-fruit flavors. Please.
A perfect item to have as a Diabetic in case of a low blood sugar emergency. I am a Type 1 Diabetic and was looking for something quick and effective for low blood sugars. Normally, I drink a regular soda or take glucose tablets, but those are both terrible your my teeth. The main thing I love about these is that they are the perfect travel-size and great for when I'm out and about. I really like that these come in easy accessible packets. I like keep at least one in my purse for emergencies.
Update: I woke up last night and my meter read 39! Drank some pop then used one of these packets which helped bring my sugar up fast. The taste isn't great, but in an emergency you dont really notice. would give this 5 stars if it tasted a little better though. I'll be purchasing more to have around.
I've been training for a half marathon, and needed something to get me from miles 10 to 13.1 I've always used the gels, but frankly not sure they helped at all. I decided to try these this time.
I took some gels at mile 6, 8 and 10 and not sure they helped at all. I was struggling so decided to try this at about mile 11. I really did feel something, and it upped my energy a bit. My legs felt good for another mile or two. They tasted good too. I'd say they helped, and will try them again on anything over 10 miles.
As a type 1 Diabetic this is a wonderful product. It works fast & it actually taste good, unlike some others I have used. I am about to order more.

This works, but I wish there were more flavors. I am not a strawberry fan. What I like about these gels is the packaging, which makes it easy to carry more than one in my pocket. The little bottles of glucose are just the wrong shape. Also, the fifteen grams is just the right amount to raise my blood sugar. If you are a type 1, you should be carrying something with you always to treat reactions. This is the least obtrusive product, and it works without fail. For the manufactures: Give us more flavors.
This is a great quick working gel. I just wish they would develop different flavors. I am not a huge fan of fruit gels, maybe a caramel, or vanilla, something a bit more adult in taste.

Thankfully I haven't needed to use them, but it gives me peace of mind to have them in my purse. Easily will slip inside even a small purse.
Works great!! Have used twice for a family member with type 1 DM. I am ordering more for myself and another family member!!
