The questions that people have about the product can be answered on the CC website. After reading the FAQ and looking at the company's history and list of certifications, I am impressed. Like other reviewers, this is my 3rd collagen product that I've tried. I switched because of the lower price of this product. It does the same thing and the quality is very impressive-if you read further on their website. There is also a lot of general information about collagen and why the hydrolyzed form is more easily digested, absorbed and therefore used by the body. I'll be sticking to this product. I've been taking collagen, this product and previously others for about 18 months. It has made a big difference in my overall muscular/skeletal body- less trips to the chiropractor and less stiffness in joints etc. The surprise has been weight loss and less water retention, bonus! I recommend collagen to everyone I know now and have several family members with back and digestive issues starting to take it. I am not paid, nor have any affiliation with this company- I just want everyone to take collagen and feel better!
Badly injured a knee several years ago. Walks and hikes were problematic as the knee would start hurting during and after the walk. Decided to explore non-surgical alternatives first to see it anything would help. Greatly reducing wheat and processed carbs made a significant improvement, but there were still some issues. Ran across information on collagen, and decided to try it out. When I take it regularly, I can usually walk pain free. On top of that, my skin looks more radiant, and my nails are stronger.
However, I was not a fan of paying $40 a pound for a certain "Kevlar-clad" brand. Did some additional research, and was please to see that this brand also uses an enzymatic process to break down the collagen, and is sourced from pasture-raised cows. After trying it out, I am very pleased. Like the other brand, it is practically tasteless, and readily dissolves in warm to hot liquid.
Please note - my experience with dietary changes and supplementation is that it requires patience and usually take weeks to several months to see significant improvement.
This is the fourth brand of collagen peptides I've used. I've been taking this for about six weeks and am satisfied with it overall. Results were slower to come than with some of the other brands I've used, but I did get them eventually. For example, with the first brand I tried, I noticed that my knees stopped clicking within three days of use. With this brand, it took about five weeks to get there. For other benefits -- faster recovery from workouts, strengthened hair and nails -- it took me about one month to see results with this brand whereas others gave me the same results inside of two weeks.
Custom Collagen is hard to beat on price. Yes, I got quicker results from other brands, but I paid significantly more. Also, I started with this product right after using another that gave me no results at all. If I'd transitioned from one of the other results where I got good results, I might not have noticed the lag. If you're already using a brand you like but want to save some money, this would be a good option to maintain your results without spending as much.
In terms of use, this product mixes well in warm or hot liquids. The taste is minimal when take on its own and disappears entirely in coffee. I often mix it with Thrive 6 mushroom extract powder. Thrive 6 has a strong taste -- it's not unpleasant, but it definitely overwhelms the collagen if I just have those two mixed together in water. But mixing those two in warm broth is very nice indeed, and that's become my usual way of taking it.
I'm a little torn on Custom Collagen. It's not my first choice, but it's a very solid second choice. And, unfortunately, I'm at a point where cost is a significant factor. Custom Collagen took longer to work for me, but now I'm getting the same results for far less money. That's why I plan to stick with this for a while.
I tried the 2 lbs canister first and saved it to refill from the 5 lb bag/box. Mixes well into anything and does not change flavor. Perfect in my Bulletproof Coffee! My hair, nails, and knees LOVE it! There is a good deal of information on their website. You simply cannot beat the value. The only thing I'd change is the zip tie closure of the bag. I don't mind having the bag in the box, but a resealable bag would be appreciated. I will purchase again!
I have been using this Beef Collagen for 6 months. I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in both of my knees in November 2017 and was given a shot in both knees with some silicone stuff that remoisturize's the joints within 6 weeks. Each shot was $1365.00. Every week my joint got better, so the shot did work to rid most of the pain. So to maintain the moisture I was using the old Glucosamine supplements. IMHO it was not working, so I researched for a solution and found CustomCollagen to try.
Within 3 weeks,IMHO, it was working ! It still is working for the last 6 months and has kept me from needing surgery, so far. Now my old knees are Not like they use to be before I was diagnosed. There is no Miracle in a box. Perhaps one day I will likely need that surgery. I will continue too use this product, I just reordered another 5lbs, until it doesn't work any more. Only the good Lord know's when that'll be.
For $62.99 a box compared to $2730.00 plus doctors fees, I think I'll keep this stuff. What do you think I should do ? Duh Huh !

I have used this type of collagen for a number of years to treat severe osteoarthritis in my knees, shoulders, hip, neck and spine. I have tried many different brands and they are all basically similar, and state that they are quick dissolving and tasteless or "almost tasteless". This brand dissolves quicker than some of them and less quickly than others, but this difference is relatively small. I can say without doubt, however, that this brand comes much closer than all of the others that I have tried, to being absolutely tasteless. This is very important to me since I mix it with plain water and drink it. I am planning to buy it from now on.
I can't say enough good things about this product! I previously used a different collagen for 6 months, every day, and saw no visible changes but when that product was out of stock I chose Custom Collagen instead and within 2 bottles of using it noticed a definite increase in thickness to my previously thinning hair. I did notice that having a minimum 3-4 scoops a day was the key to the noticeable change but assume over time the effects would show even with less usage. Will always buy this form of collagen! I can't stand to run out so now am on auto ship for the larger containers since it never goes to waste in my house! I broke my right foot 3 years ago and it took almost a full 2 years to heal without feeling pain. I found myself with a fracture again but in my left foot this last May. I love this! It dissolves perfectly. I even put a scoop in my hot tea sometimes and I never noticed a flavor or texture change. Whenever I feel like I need a little extra protein I throw scoop of this in. If I'm having oatmeal in the morning and I want added protein I put a scoop in my oatmeal, I put a scoop in my smoothies… The really great product. I've only started using it recently, but I'm almost out and I will definitely be buying it again.
This is my first time using this brand, although I've been taking collagen (other brands) now for almost 3 months. I love collagen powder in general because of it's versatility with being able to mix it in all kinds of things, coffee, tea, smoothies, juiced vegetables, etc. In the three months time of taking collagen I've noticed my joints being less stiff in the a.m., my hair and nails grow at lightning speed, my skin is fabulously smooth and soft like baby skin, and I feel more alert and don't get sleepy after lunch anymore. I'm 52 and am taking 2 scoops twice a day because my main goal is to hopefully make my wrinkles less, which has not happened yet. The only negative things that I've noticed about this brand of collagen is that it doesn't dissolve instantly in hot liquid like the last brand that I used did. But I can work with it - you just need to stir more. And I wish that the scoop had a longer handle. The scoop it comes with has such a short handle that you can't help but get your hands all in the powder. but these are small gripes. I REALLY appreciate the 5 pound box because I go through collagen quickly with as much as I'm taking.
