I’m in front of my computer for nine or more hours a day, as well as looking at my phone and watching TV at home, I'll say more than half a day I'm reading at the screen. As soon as I hit hour four or five, my eyes feel like they’re on fire, sometimes even headache. The eye strain has become increasingly worse over time. The bloodshot eyes took hours to go away, sometimes even still there while I wake up in the morning.

My experience with the glasses: I've been wearing glasses since high school, so I have no problem getting used to this glasses. After wearing for a week, my eyes didn’t feel nearly as aggravated come 6 p.m. — and there were no mid-day eye rubs necessary! When I got home each day my eyes were still a little pink, but they absolutely looked better than before.

I definitely feel like these glasses worked for me. I’ll continue wearing them as long as they’re working — especially on days when my eyes are feeling a little more irritated than usual.

I was pretty skeptical about glasses being able to filter blue light and bought this pair as 4.0 reading glasses. After a couple weeks of use, however, I realized that my eyes do not hurt anymore. I spend all my time at work in front of the computer and read books on ipad at home (also, surf internet often) and my eyes were beginning to hurt real bad. Not any more! Pretty amazing. Of course, 4.0 was also a big help, but the not-hurting-anymore effect is unexpected and very welcome. Of course, this is very individual, but it worked for me.

My blue blocking reading glasses are now the only ones I wear! They are attractive, lightweight and neutral. I love the opportunity to discuss the benefits of wearing blue blocking glasses to my friends.. melanopsin - In humans, melanopsin is found in intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs).[6] It is also found in the iris of mice and primates.[7] Melanopsin is also found in rats, amphioxus, and other chordates.[8] ipRGCs are photoreceptor cells which are particularly sensitive to the absorption of short-wavelength (blue) visible light and communicate information directly to the area of the brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), also known as the central "body clock", in mammals.[9] Melanopsin plays an important non-image-forming role in the setting of circadian rhythms as well as other functions.

I've been using these as computer glasses for about a week now and am mostly happy with them. Here's why.

THE PROS: The 1.75 magnification I ordered was perfect, and I can see clearly through the entire range of the lens. The glasses are lightweight, and with the integrated nose brace, I don't worry about nose pieces falling off. They came with a hard case, a polishing cloth, and a tool set. Yeah!

THE CONS: There are no springs in the earpieces. The ear piece hinges seem a bit tight. I'm not sure this is a con, because experience with similar hinges in the past has ranged from the screw loosening and falling out to the screw working itself so tight it eventually caused the earpiece to break off to the screw and hinge joint remaining perfect through the life of the glasses. Only time will tell how these pan out.

THE QUESTIONS: The lenses are clear, yet they claim to block blue light. I did about 40 minutes of online research, and was unable to find a definitive answer to whether clear lenses are capable of blocking blue light. Manufacturers say yes, writers with opinions but no facts say probably not, but I couldn't find any independent laboratory tests confirming this one way or the other.

The bottom line for this Blue Light Blocking capability - which is why I bought these particular glasses - will be after I spend a long day at the computer, do my eyes burn and feel tired? They haven't yet, so maybe they work fine.

All in all, considering that reading glasses like this range in price from about $3 at your local mega-mart to more than $200 from places that are inordinately proud of their offerings, the ~$33 I spent on these seemed a decent value for the money. Although for this price, I hoped they would have spring hinges.

I've never needed reading glasses and still don't need the magnification, but after decades of headaches and eye strain turned into multiple weekly ocular migraines I knew I had to do something about spending all day working with electronic devices. I am so glad I got these glasses. It's been a week and I haven't had any migraines. At first, I felt the frames were a bit bigger than I wanted them to be, but they've grown on me. I like the purplish tint of the clear frames that gives it a subtle flare that doesn't block my field of vision. Part of the reason I picked these glasses is that I didn't want to see everything with a yellow tint, and I'm happy with that decision too. The lenses are pretty reflective to light, but as long as you take them off before snapping a selfie, it won't be a problem. The delivery was quick, and along with a pretty solid case and cleaning cloth, it came with a glasses-sized screwdriver on a keychain. Overall, I am very satisfied with both my decision to get blue light filter glasses and to choose this specific pair.

I love these glasses ♡
Far better than I expected. They are slender and lightweight. I can hardly feel them on my face and my vision is now better than ever.

Love them!!! As soon as I put them on the blue light blocking made a huge difference. They're very good quality and came with a repair kit and very nice case.

So I have prescription glasses for eye strain I wear at work, and I realized I need glasses pretty much for every thing I try and read, especially my phone, which seems to always be in front of me. I bought these and have to say I love them. They are a little light and thin but they felt as good on my eyes as my RX and feel like compared to the other readers I've purchased these were far better.

Well we live in a digital world. My face always seems to be reading a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Bought one pair to try and decided they were so invaluable I purchased an extra for back up. First pair went missing so using back up and just purchased my third pair. No more dry itchy blood shot eyes, No more blurry vision after a long day in front of screens and no more expensive eye gel lubricating drops. Arrives nicely and safely packaged , Comes with a quality hard case and micro-fiber cleaning cloth. I find them easy to keep clean and have dropped them a few times without damage so well made. Frames hold their shape and are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Are they a bit more money than other glasses? Yes but worth the extra money when compared to others I've purchased in past. Magnification strength spot on. No annoying yellow tint. Seriously recommended.

The quality of these glasses seems as good as prescription glasses (for distance) I've paid many times more for. My ears are at different heights, so I have to push them down on one side to make them level, but that isn't the fault of the glasses; I always have a technician straighten prescription glasses when I buy them from an optometrist. I like the way they look when I'm wearing them, and I'm extremely particular; I have a very hard time finding frames that suit me.

The well-made case, jeweler's screwdriver and cleaning cloth are classy touches and greatly appreciated.

These are the first readers I have used, and I ordered mine with +1.25 magnification. I have dry eyes, and for many years they have been constantly itchy, usually red, and sometimes painful, especially during the many hours a day I spend on the computer. For many years I have been using multiple vials of lubricating eyedrops each day for some relief.

These glasses have made a dramatic difference to the way my eyes feel... they no longer itch, they aren't red, and they aren't painful. I now use a small fraction of the number of vials of eyedrops I used to use because my eyes feel so much better-- which is saving me money on eyedrops.

Honestly, my guess is that I had been straining my eyes by spending so much time on the computer without using readers, and that it's the magnification in these glasses that is making the difference to the comfort of my eyes. Having said that, however, when I turn the glasses at a specific angle to the light I can see a purplish blue coating on both sides of the lenses; that is presumably the coating that is blocking the blue light.

I wasn't having trouble sleeping before, and I don't notice any difference in my sleeping habits now. However, I look at the blue light blocking feature in the same way I look at vitamins-- it might help, and I don't see how it can do any harm. It was worth spending a little more than plain readers just in case.
