With a bed-ridden fully paralyzed father, we've depended on inflatable bed shampooer basins for the last few years to keep his hair fresh and clean. I've purchased two basins of another brand, and they were cheap trash. The plastic material hardened and holes formed, rendering them useless. I gave up on them and bought a DMI Deluxe, which I'm much happier with. This basin came with a patch kit with extra material and glue, which I find to be extremely thoughtful and kind. That alone will pretty much guarantee the extended life of this product. When making purchases, little extras like that are greatly appreciated by consumers like myself. The other company I purchased could learn a lot from Duro-med. Thanks for exceeding expectations, you have made my father's care much easier!
This is excellent my paraplegic mother-in-law was laid up in bed with a large sore on her seat and not able to get up for a very very long time and she was admitted into the hospital and had to stay in the hospital for six months and then was transferred to an assisted living Medical Care Unit. Only one time did anyone ever offered to wash her hair with real water and soap I bought this so that I could wash it for and make her feel good about herself again because she was really down it made a world of difference to her to have clean hair!
Cannot say enough good things about this product. Purchased for bedridden grandmother she loves it and is a luxery for her to get her hair washed properly and not useing no rinse soaps and wash cloths, or uncomfortable pans. Very soft and comfortable for patient easy to lay back and relax. easy set up and easy to use.
**Tip** If your patient has an adjustable height on their bed raise it as much as is comfortable for you to wash their hair and it assist the gravity fed drain so you dont have to struggel to get it to drain
It definitely is a 2 person job, but compared to the shampoo cap things that are absolutely pointless for anything longer than a buzz cut, this thing is a lifesaver for a real hair washing!!! The hose wouldn’t stay pointed down, so we rigged it to drain into the commode! The only tricky part was getting it to drain toward the hose, every so often we had to tip it up and hold the lid of the drain open. But not bad at all and they said this was WAAAY better than their normal routine. Score!
This is an awesome product. It works perfectly for washing my bed ridden daughter's hair. I highly recommend this inflatable shampoo basin.
I had a little trouble with the drain hose at first because it was stiff, but after a few uses its working just fine.

Used this once with success, but the next time it soaked the bed. Discovered that the drain plug seam was not bonded fully around the entire plug. Needed to glue down the lifted plug area with E6000 industrial glue, then tested a few days later after drying. Problem resolved.
Love this item, but lost points due to mass production flaw. The drain tube needs a counter weight to hold the tube within the drain bucket. The tubing is warped or curls upward from packaging.
Requires two people to handle it. One to hold it in place while the other does the washing. Please use towels around neck and place a towel double folded under the patient's back.
I purchased this at the request of a friend who is paralyzed. He has only the use of one hand and arm. He has been unable to have his hair shampooed because his apartment does not have a shower for the disabled. We blew it up and it looks quite sturdy and comfortable. It also looks easy to manage. When I wash his hair for him I will add comments on the usability. It is a great idea for those who are disabled.
the hose is really stiff and develops crimps when it's stored in a bag. I take it with me so that's why I don't leave it inflated. It still works, just flows a little slowly.
If a person has really long hair it would be more difficult to use unless the person wants to (and if theyare able) to hold their head up.
The only problem with this was the drain hose needed my help due the hose being folded for shipping and the water didn't want to go past the crink in the hose, but I was perfect for what I needed it for! Should I ever need another one, I would buy again.
