I have never found better ice packs in my life, for my migraine headaches! They stay soft and pliable when frozen, and i only replaced my old ones, with these new ones, after about 8 years of continual re-freezing. I tuck them into my “eye blunders, on each side of my temples, and lay on them, in the dark when I have a headache, and when I wake up, after a “medicated and iced” nap, I feel better! I
would be lost without my 3M packs! I even bring them on vacations, and keep them in ice buckets in the hotel or cruise cabin buckets! Best invention ever! The white sleeve enclosed, is perfect to prevent skin burn from the ice. I just write on it with permanent marker “ICE BAG COVER-KEEP” on both sides, because it looks like a paper towel, and has been tossed into the trash before!
I have migraines. A lot. Until they find a cure the best my neurologist and I can do is minimize the medication I take (and therefore finding the best bang for buck, which currently is sumitriptan nasal spray); avoid red wine, step aerobics, perfume and the other usual triggering suspects; and plan for the best kind of pampering when a flare-up does occur. Whether heat or cold works better for you, these do the trick even if you can't turn off the lights or find a "dentist office" station on Radio 360 to provide non-stimulating music therapy* when a headache attacks. I carry one in my purse and keep one in my headache first aid kit at home.
Nexcare pads are sturdier than other hot/cold packs. I just bought 2 of these because my others finally wore out....after more than 5 years! They come with a pad you can velcro over an arm or leg....I bought a cheaper pad once just to get the longer velcro strap to wrap round my head, but you won't need it if your pain is someplace smaller. They also heat up quickly, which is great for me (Yes, ask a neurologist; sometimes heat does work better for migraines; that's one reason the vasoconstriction theory is now in question).
* Kids don't remember, but in the 70s and 80s a product called "Muzak" invaded doctor and dentist waiting rooms around the world. Primarily dull orchestral remakes of pop tunes, without vocals, it provided the perfect kind of music to listen to without thinking. . It also makes it easier to use biofeedback to simulate anesthetization by nitrous oxide. Muzak, Nexcare and sumitriptan: the anti-Migraine army.
I have terrible sinus related migraines. My husband brings me one of these every morning and I place it across my eyes and go back to sleep. I know they help to ward off the morning headaches or make them less intense. I couldn’t live without them. Two last about a year with everyday use. Well worth the money. I actually put them in a white sock then there is no chance of burning yourself by touching the pack itself.
I will be honest here, beside the black "colpak", the nexcare is the more solid of all icepacks. I tried a cheaper brand and it didn't last very long. I think my injury was located in a problem spot for all icepacks. I had a pinched nerve in C6 (neck) and in order to have the icepacks to stay on my shoulder, I had to curve them and sometimes to lean on it a little bit, so they would hold. The colpak is really solid and the nexcare pretty good too. My neck is fine now and the only icepacks I have left is a nexcare and the colpak.
I have a son who, for some unknown reason, gets hot ears when he lies his head on a pillow (or stimulates them in any way...hats, etc.) So I sewed a soft fabric pouch that holds two of these icepacks, end-to-end and he drapes it over his head and ears. Not a great solution, but doctors have no clue and it cools his ears. They are durable, reusable and chill well. I'm sure they would be great for more conventional uses, injuries, inflammations, etc.

Love love love these ice packs! Perfect size, keep cold well, great for headache relief! Only wish is that they still came with the cloth headband covers that they used to come with!
I use these mostly when I get migraines. I keep them in the freezer. I wrap a small kitchen towel around them and put them on my neck/head when I get a migraine. They are life savers for me.
Good ice packs. Hard to find locally. Durable. I sleep on them fo my SI joint in my hip very frequently. I’m not a big dude, it they seem very durable.
I really love these gel packs. I use them to cool my body while working in the hot sun. I wrap them in soft cloth and tuck them close to my skin. I go to the garden even in 100 plus weather. They will keep me cool for an hour or more. Of course I use them for sore muscles or a sprain. But I use them more often for keeping cool.
Product is exactly as advertised. There are two hot/cold packs in one box. Size 4x10 allows it to fit very easily in a standard freezer door pocket if needed as a cold pack. Also cold pack stays flexible even after frozen so that you can bend it around the injured or swollen area of your body or around drinks or food depending on your use.
