Plano 2363001 Prolatch Stowaway Deep Box with Adjustable

Plano 2363001 Prolatch Stowaway Deep Box with Adjustable Compartments

I bought this specifically for organizing batteries. My configuration holds 84 AA, 10C, 9D, and 10 9v. I can replace 3 D batteries with a battery tester.

These are really excellent boxes, I must have 20 of them in different sizes now. The dimensions of this box (2-3630) are 11x7.25x2.75.

I use many of them as organizers in my tool boxes for hardware and small parts. They are great for that purpose. These are not cheap styrene that break easily and the pro latches are nicely durable. The dividers make them very flexible too. The only criticism is maybe this particular box should have a few more dividers supplied with it. Not enough of a problem for me to knock off a star though.

However the way Amazon lists these without dimensions is annoying. And if you go to the Plano site it is hard to find the product by part number so the whole experience is really really annoying. It makes purchasing these much harder than it should be. If there was an easy way to get the dimensions I bet that Amazon would sell a LOT more of these.

I think all Plano boxes are pretty great- we have a bunch of them in use all over the house, everywhere from in the garage to my kid's room to my art studio and out in the garden. The cases are completely durable and uses for them are endless.

I actually bought this particular case to sort my watercolor/Inktense pencils in my art studio, but when I received it I realized it's not a good case for that job. While the wells are deep and long enough (unlike the cases made specifically to hold pencils and pens, which are often only large enough to hold a handful instead of a complete set), the box is a little too wide, and the slots where the dividers go make sticking your hand into the well kind of a painful experience.

But of course, this box was immediately grabbed up by another member of my family- I believe my daughter is using it to store the bands for her rainbow loom plus some beads and accessories.

So I wouldn't recommend this for colored pencil storage, but I would recommend it for anything else- even if the specific purpose you are buying this for doesn't work out, I can guarantee you that you WILL find a use for this box somewhere else in your life.

I bought this to put batteries in, it works so great, I fit a Cosco size pack of AAA AA I have some 9 V, C batteries, D batteries and even my battery tester! All in one place! The latch is very secure, I love it!

The best organizing box I've ever purchased! Hinged lid with REAL swiveling hinges for lid and latches (not the molded plastic kind that fail) keeps everything secure. Removable/adjustable inserts. You can instantly see everything through the transparent case so no need for labels like on opaque or solid color boxes. Well made; plastic is tough and flexible, not brittle. I bought several of these to organize hardware. Should have invested in them years ago!

Description

Plano is a company founded on the belief that outdoor adventures go beyond the fish you catch or the game you carry out, but the experience you take in. These experiences are Unlimited and available to everyone, and we appreciate and understand the determination outdoorsmen have to pursue their passion because we are a company built on that same passion and love for the outdoors. We've been supplying outdoor enthusiasts with equipment protection and storage Solutions for over 60 years, and there's a 4 in 5 chance that if you own a tackle box, it was made by plano. Plano acquired frabill in 2012, creating a partnership with over 135 years of combined industry experience, values, and product quality. These iconic Brands, combined with tenzing hunting packs, provide an unmatched Portfolio of products for the outdoor industry. We're proud of our heritage and humbled by the countless anglers, hunters and shooters that trust us with the safekeeping of their equipment.

I also bought some Plano 23600-01 Stowaways (same size, just not as deep) and it has a different pattern on the lid/base, so they won't stack properly.

WTF Plano? If you had made your boxes play nice with each other, I'd now be (quite happily) locked in to buying Plano boxes, since I already own 5. As it stands, there's no benefit to sticking to one brand.

There are two Canon printers on my desk, one for every day use and the other for photo printing. I spent considerable time looking for secure-closure, transparent boxes in which to store the total of twelve different types of ink cartridges required for these printers. It was hard to tell what would work based on product descriptions and reviews because manufacturers don't seem to communicate measurements with accuracy and consistency. We took a chance and ordered four of these. I'm really pleased with them. Each holds approximately a dozen cartridges and the four boxes fit almost perfectly in one shallow drawer in a small cabinet next to my desk.

The Plano 3630 is exactly what it is advertised as: a deep depth multiple bin storage box with adjustable compartments.

The superiority of this box is due to several features:

1) The box is molded from a 'soft' thermoplastic -- instead of cracking or fracturing the box may scratch or dent, but stay intact and whole. Many cheaper boxes are made from harder plastics with lower elasticity and hence lifespans. This is particularly useful if you are using the box to store heavy/sharp/metal objects.

2) The box-top clamps (aka the yellow things) are made from a tougher, harder wearing plastic than the box itself.. it is unlikely that the lid clamps will wear out sooner than the box. The clips to which the clamps hold are fairly large and deep and should also stand up well to wear. Again, cheaper boxes will wear out quickly in this area.

3) The lid hinge is mechanical instead of being a flap of plastic. This sort of hinge, while not as strong as a metal hinge, is much stronger than the 'living hinge' type plastic flanges sometimes used in cheaper boxes.

On the whole I am quite pleased with the box. While the price is a little high for a container of this size, this box is built tough. Additionally the box is sized perfectly for stacking with others in the 3600 line, which is very useful for people like me who own quite a number.

I store war miniature in my boxes, which often come with over-sized bases donating size. Due to the great depth of this box I am able to fit all but my largest pieces comfortably and safely. I can wholeheartedly recommend this box to anyone looking for deep, tough, and adjustable storage for small items.

Pretty straightforward stuff....it's a box with dividers and Plano makes great divided boxes. If the buyer takes a couple of seconds to check sizes before ordering, its hard to go wrong. We have a bunch of drip irrigation fittings in this one and it's perfect for that.

Even better from my standpoint is Amazon's service. The first one I received was cracked under the adhesive label and I didn't notice until after I had installed the dividers. Amazon immediately replaced the item with absolutely no hassle.

Perfect for a battery organizer! The deeper storage space allows more room for big batteries or stacks of smaller ones (i.e. AA, AAA). This plastic storage container is adjustable to an extent: the rows are permanent but you can adjust the columns. The width of each individual space within a row is adjusted by using the VERTICAL dividers. I hope this makes sense. This container seems sturdy. I'm very happy with this product!
