I always used the light formula but they have since discontinued it. The Maximum formula is too goopy and thick to penetrate my skin. Since the product contains electrolite free water I researched and found out that distilled water is the closest to electrolite free as you can get. Since I had an empty Aqualin container, I washed it out with the distilled water, then squeezed half of the maximum formula into that container and filled the other half with the distilled water. Shook really well and 'voila' I had light formula Aqualin. Actually I now had 2 light formula Aqualins since I filled the half empty container of maximum formula with distilled water too. Absolutely no difference now from the discontinued light formula. So don't fret over the discontinued product. You can now thin out Aqualin Max to make your own.
I'm over 50 and have smooth wrinkle-free skin. I owe this in part to good genes, sunscreen and Aqualin. Women are obsessed with buying products for wrinkles such as retinol. That may work well for ironing out some fine lines but will do absolutely nothing to plump the skin. Logically, nothing will work better on wrinkles than moisture. Moisture plumps the skin. If your skin is well hydrated and plump there should be no wrinkles unless you're a heavy smoker and a sun bather. Aqualin is the perfect skin plumper. It is tacky so here's the best way to apply it: Put a pea sized drop on your palm and mush it with your finger. Add a few drops of water, rub it between your two palms and apply to your entire face. If it still feels tacky add a bit more water. Your skin will absorb it. For my personal facial cocktail, instead of the water I add 3 drops of hyalaronic acid and 3 drops of squalene oil. Even during the driest weather here in California, my skin never feels tight and dry. It's always dewy. I recently tried my "cocktail" without the Aqualin and it doesn't hydrate as well so if you only do the Aqualin and water you'll be amazed how good your skin will look and feel.
Works great for dry itchy skin and/or eczema if used properly after bathing when body is still damp. Most people don't use properly. Wet hands completely with warm water, squeeze 1-1/2 inch of product on hands, rub hands together, apply with finger tips starting with the ankles and covering the entire body. Don't "rub in", simply drag your fingers and hands over the body. I only use the maximum strength and apply as written. No more problems. When the bottle becomes low simply cut it in half to get the stuff that won't squeeze out. I generally just put the two halves back together until I have gotten the last drop out (no waste). Takes a few days and doesn't generally dry out in the container if you put the to halves together. Have used successfully for years.
I just use this on my face. I have been using it for years. Absolutely so far the best natural moisturizer for the price. Just using it on my face it lasts about a year.

Description
Aqualin Moisturizer Concentrate-Maximum Formula by Micro Balanced Products 4 oz Gel
This product comletely eliminated itchy skin on my legs and arms and back. It seems sticky at first but is absorbed into the skin and left a non-sticky surface. I am on my second tube. It is fragrance free. I recommend it to anyone with dry, itchy skin.
Great stuff...have used it for years. Preferred the "light" formula but it's no longer available. Pity!
I have used this for years for the dry, dry skin of winter.
best moisturizer ever.
So fabulous a product. I am 82 and just do not look it. I only retired a year ago. Never told anyone my age at work and so was never treated badly by those who think 80 is old and want to see you retired. No-one ever encouraged me to retire, I was lucky to be able to make my own decision. I have always used the Light Aqualin so will use the distilled water and make my own as one of the other reviewers suggests. The Original Version is way too sticky for me! I would rather they make the Light Aqualin again but will keep diluting it if they don't. Go for it gals, you won't be the least bit sorry when you are my age!
