While I'm awaiting neck surgery I came across this and I am beyond happy I did.I have used many heating pads and sprays to help ease the chronic pain I live in daily to no avail. After reading some reviews I took the advice and purchased this.So Thank you to those who honestly reviewed this .At first this seemed to be a bit of a Hassel such as soaking over night than boiling this. After the first few uses I became quickly accustomed to preparing this for use. This is very similar to the ones my PT used on me .I feel I get the same effect, just this one is smaller.I like how it gets deep into the tissue and stays heated for along time.Just be sure to wrap in towels like instructions say or you will find out quickly how hot these really get.I have been using 3 X daily and I am definitely getting some relief I know I won't get 100% because my injury is so severe. That said I highly recommend these to everyone as long as you have the patience to follow the simple instructions .you too should find relief much better than the typical plug in heating pads.I am beyond happy to have found this here on Amazon at such a low cost as well.I should also mention mine didn't have any weird ,obnoxious smell.
This heat pack is very similar to the one used by my physical therapists office, which is kept in a large heated water tank. I was a bit skeptical, but found this really amazing. I left it to soak in room temperature water for a few days to make sure it was fully saturated as my home temp is in the 60's. I put it up to a light boil and left it to soak for a few minutes to get hot enough and pulled it out and wrapped in a towel.
The heat is so much better and last so much longer than any other heat pack I've used in the past, other than at the physical therapists office.
I found this product truly works for my chronic back pain, and allows me to function better as a human.
Follow the instructions, and you will be very pleased with the results!
I have purchased several sizes hydroculators and they was just a good size so I purchased it as a spare. If you have a pulled muscle, this is a must!!!! Most people have never heard of them and we have been using them for 40 years! We would not ever be without one. Be SURE and store in a plastic bag in the freezer or they will dry up!
I never heard of a hydrocolator before my acupuncturist recommended it. He said you could get these moist heat pads at any pharmacy. After trying three pharmacies without success, I resorted to Amazon, which seems to have everything.
It's awkward and time consuming getting this pad heated up and ready to apply, but when you finally use it, it's heaven. I put it on my stomach to alleviate GI discomfort. The moist heat feels great, and really helps.
Clear, explicit instructions for use come with the pad. So even if, like me, you never heard of a hydrocolator, you can easily figure it out.
These packs are thinner and lighter than my old ones. They retain heat beautifully and are much more pleasant on the body (weight was an issue with the old ones). I also like the red and black loops, easy to rotate through using them.

Our high quality moist heat packs are great for Doctor use or in home therapies.
I think if I’m not mistaken this is one of the ones that the taps came off the product in the water. I have never had that happen except on this red tab one it just disentigrated into the bottom of the hydroculator. 🤷♀️
First got this it felt like a bunch of rice pellets I wasn't very happy with it cuz I wanted the silicone gel inside of the heat pad and upon heating it and water the silicone pellets melted and turned it all into a gel silicone and I love this thing thank you so much
After waiting the agonizing 20hrs, heated for 20 mins and used a layer of microfiber towels, heat feels great, although akin to first getting in to a hot tub, there's that adjustment period.
I really love this product so far, the oversized one, and probably will become a weekly, if not daily, end of day ritual. Can't use the tub to have a nice long soak, but this definitely is up to par.
I'll probably check back after it's been reheated after being stored in the freezer.
As for smell, my sister said it smelled like tamales.
Sound like a consistency of quality issue after reading previous reviews.
Call it an investment, pampering yourself, self maintenance, at the end of the day, you can't go wrong putting money into this product. Maybe, err ask for a replacement if it does smell vile.
Just had my shoulder replaced and this has been a life saver. I was concerned when I took it out of the package, but once I soaked it in water it really swelled up. I also use it for my neck and trapezius.
I could not find this in stores anywhere. i suffer from cronic lower back pain. i have been through several surgeries and by far this simple tool gives me much needed releif. beware it gets very very hot. the weight plus the moist heat really do work wonders
